Doctor Who: Every Doctor Explained
Note: With the eleventh season (or series, depending on what you like to call it) of Doctor Who on its way, and with a new female Doctor making her debut at San Diego Comic-Con this week, we figured this was a great time to look back at this Guide to All the Doctors.
Doctor Who has never been more popular. While Peter Capaldi finished his run as the traveling Time Lord with last year's Season 10 and his final Christmas Special, that very same special also gave us our first look at the new Doctor: Jodie Whittaker, who will be the first female Doctor (the Thirteenth Doctor overall)! So what better time to take a look back at all the Doctors from the show’s 50-plus year history? We’re going to tell you about each incarnation in chronological order, explaining why every Doctor is awesome and worthy of your attention! (For even more on the show, check out our Intro to Doctor Who right here.)
The 10 Best ’80s Action Movies
The 1980s were a golden era for action cinema, with giant blockbusters and innovative low-budget films alike, many of them changing the way audiences looked at the genre. With the innovation of crazier stunts and more exhilarating effects and a sudden shift in the industry towards movies that appealed to younger demographics (thanks, in large part, to Star Wars), filmmakers were pushing the limits of the medium left and right with more exciting and imaginative thrill rides than ever before.
So coming up with a list of the very best action movies of the 1980s is, unsurprisingly, ridiculously difficult. Many a frantic debate was held at the IGN offices about whether films like Batman were action-packed enough, or whether films like RoboCop were just too danged funny to qualify. And everyone was pretty bummed out when at least one of their favorite movies didn't make the cut (sorry Big Trouble in Little China, you came THIS close!).

Young Justice: Outsiders Poster Reveals Season 3 Villains
It's been five long years since Young Justice last appeared on our screens, but thanks to DC's new digital subscription service, DC Universe, the beloved animated series will make its much-anticipated return later this year - and it looks like it's full of new faces.
Fans will get new intel on Season 3, titled Young Justice: Outsiders, at the show's San Diego Comic-Con panel this Friday (taking place at 10am in room 6DE), and IGN has an exclusive first look at the special SDCC poster that fans will receive if they attend the show's autograph signing on Friday from 11:30am to noon at the Warner Bros. booth (#4545).
Justice League: Warner Bros. Won’t Release a Zack Snyder Cut
After months of speculation, Warner Bros. has revealed whether or not there will be a Zack Snyder cut of Justice League.
A Warner Bros. senior executive confirmed to The Wall Street Journal there are no plans to release an alternate version of the DC ensemble movie at San Diego Comic-Con. Snyder was also contacted, but the director declined to comment.
Back in 2017, Snyder had to step down from production on Justice League following a personal tragedy, with Joss Whedon taking over as director. A few months later in September of 2017, Snyder opened up about why he was keeping his distance from Justice League, saying he wasn't worried about how the movie was shaping up.
Comcast Drops Out of 21st Century Fox Bidding War with Disney
The Walt Disney Company's $71.3 billion offer for 21st Century Fox looks poised to go through. That's because telecom behemoth Comcast Corporation has pulled out of its bidding war with Disney for control of Fox.
CNBC, which is itself owned by Comcast, first reported the news today. The report indicates that Comcast's decision is in part so that it can refocus on its acquisition attempts of UK telecom company Sky, which Fox itself has been competing with Comcast to acquire. Fox already owns 39 percent of Sky and has offered $32.5 billion for the other 61, while Comcast has recently bid $34 billion for that same stake.
Outcast is Back: Robert Kirkman on the Bigger Body Snatcher Scope of Season 2
More than two years after production wrapped on the second season, Outcast is finally returning to Cinemax - on Friday, July 20th (though Season 2 already aired for audiences overseas).
Back in spring of 2016, I visited the set of this horrific exorcism series, based on Robert Kirkman's comics, while they were shooting episode 208 and spoke to Kirkman and the cast about the new dangers and expanding scope of the show.
Note: With the second season of this expensive-to-make series sitting on the shelf for so long, and the options on the cast having lapsed a long time ago, the future for Outcast doesn't look great. HBO and Cinemax's programming head Kary Antholis said that they'd be open to conversations about bringing it back, but many co-production opportunities would probably have to arise to make it feasible.
Dozens of Aquaman Toys Create Epic Undersea Battle at Comic-Con 2018
Update 8/3: Check out all the Mattel toys from SDCC right here.
Comic-Con is underway, and Mattel is showing off some upcoming DC figures that'll be hitting stores in late 2018. Unsurprisingly, the company will be focusing a great deal on December's Aquaman movie, with their booth featuring an epic undersea battle between rival Atlantean armies.
They also showed off a new wave of DC Multiverse figures inspired by DC's Rebirth comics and a line of Harry Potter dolls. Check out the slideshow below to see what Mattel has on display at Comic-Con right now.
Included in this lineup are several new additions to Mattel's DC Multiverse Signature series line, which features movie-based figures. Also spotlighted are a Mera-themed Barbie doll, Mattel's SDCC-exclusive Aquaman: Between Two Dooms set and a new wave of DC Comics Multiverse figures that will include pieces to construct a Lobo "Collect-and-Connect" figure.
Changes Are Coming for Nearly All of Overwatch’s Support Heroes
There's some bad news for Overwatch players tired of Mercy's repeated changes and nerfs. Blizzard will make changes to Mercy along with four of Overwatch's five other support characters in the next patch.
Announced by Lead Designer Geoff Goodman in a forum post yesterday, the changes are meant to keep the support characters competitive with one another. In addition to Mercy, Ana, Brigitte, Lucio, and Moira are all getting changes. That means Zenyatta is the sole support character who will remain unchanged, with Goodman explaining that Zenyatta's "doing his job well as a hybrid damage/healer, and being able to provide discord orb for your team will always be welcome."
The Walking Dead Casts Fantastic Beasts Star Dan Fogler
The Walking Dead has added a Fantastic Beasts star to its cast for Season 9.
ComicBook.com reports Dan Fogler, who portrays Jacob Kowalski in Fantastic Beasts, has joined the hit AMC show. However, his role is currently being kept under wraps.
Fogler is set to reprise his role as Jacob in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts sequel The Crimes of Grindelwald. Meanwhile, The Walking Dead Season 9 will premiere on AMC this fall.
The series' new showrunner Angela Kang opened up about The Walking Dead's time jump and how it'll impact some of the main characters. The new season will see the use of horses and more archaic weapons since gas and bullets will be more difficult to find.
