New Suit Shown Off For Insomniac’s Spider-Man

A new suit for Spider-Man has been announced at the Marvel Games Panel at SDCC 2018, along with a slew of new Spider-Man merchandise.

Called the Velocity Suit, it has metal paneling and a glowing emblem. Designed by Marvel artist Ari Gradnov, it's one of the three exclusive suits players can get by pre-ordering the game. Insomniac has not yet revealed the functionality of the suit.

A limited edition art book was also announced, called Marvel's Spider-Man: The Art of the Game. Written by Paul Davies, it features concept art never before seen and commentary from Insomniac and Marvel.

Hasbro Previews New Star Wars, Marvel & Transformers Figures

Hasbro kicked off its Comic-Con presence with a special Hasbro Breakfast presentation. The company showed off some upcoming Star Wars, Marvel and Transformers products hitting stores later in 2018, as well as some of the exclusive items being sold at the show.

This lineup includes several new additions to the Star Wars Vintage Collection line, which features modern figures in retro-inspired packaging, and the larger-scale Black Series line. Hasbro previewed several Black Panther-themed Marvel Legends figures as well as their MCU-focused Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years line. As for Transformers, the lineup included a mix of new toys geared towards the upcoming Bumblebee movie and their Vintage G1 series, which recreates the classic Transformers toys from the '80s.

Batman and Joker Join Forces in New DC Comic

DC held its Meet the Publishers panel at Comic-Con today, with Co-Publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio spotlighting a number of major upcoming projects. The biggest news from the panel is that The Darkness creator Marc Silvestri is writing and drawing a new mini-series called Batman/Joker: Deadly Duo.

As the title suggests, this series features the two characters joining forces for a change. Their alliance comes in response to an unknown enemy who is simultaneously tormenting the Joker from afar and torturing a kidnapped Commissioner Gordon. The series will be set outside traditional DC continuity and be published through the DC Black Label imprint.

New Doctor Who Trailer Shows Off Thirteen and Her Companions

The Thirteenth Doctor has arrived! BBC America's Doctor Who panel at San Diego Comic-Con today finally let new series star Jodie Whittaker (Broadchurch) take center stage. It’s been over a year since Peter Capaldi’s final season aired, and now the focus has shifted to Whittaker, who plays the first female incarnation of the Doctor.

IGN’s own Terri Schwartz moderated the panel, which featured Whittaker and two of her companions, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill, who play Ryan and Yasmin, respectively. New showrunner Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch) and executive producer Matt Strevens (An Adventure in Space and Time) were also on hand to preview the new season of the beloved sci-fi show.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Is Returning

Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the animated series that was previously canceled in 2013, is making its return.

New episodes of the show are coming, with Disney showing off new footage at the Clone Wars 10th Anniversary Panel at SDCC today. The show is reportedly coming back with 12 episodes to complete the series.

We Saw The Ultimate Predator Decapitate a Predator

20th Century Fox kicked off San Diego Comic-Con 2018 on Thursday with an exclusive sneak peek at The Predator, showcasing new footage from the upcoming sequel-reboot that showcased the movie's R-rated gore and humor.

Some SPOILERS follow for The Predator, although if you've seen the poster then this really shouldn't come as a surprise to you.

In The Predator, suburbia becomes the latest battleground in the war between humans and the titular alien hunters. But this time around, the Predators have been upgraded -- via DNA from other species -- into even stronger, smarter, and more lethal hunters. “The Ultimate Predator” made his debut in the most recent trailer and it showed its might by quickly thrashing another, but smaller Predator.

Mysterious Black Sarcophagus Finally Opened in Egypt

The huge, 30 ton mortar-sealed black granite sarcophagus unearthed at a construction site in Alexandria, Egypt has finally been opened, two weeks after its discovery.

Public reaction to the initial discovery of the sarcophagus ranged from serious speculation that the tomb may contain the corpse of Alexander the Great to joking threats of ancient curses should it ever be opened.

What Egyptian archaeologists actually found was not so dramatic, but still fascinating and a little disgusting: three decomposed mummies marinating in a soup of dark sewage water that had leaked in through a crack on the side of the casket.

Iron Man 3 Director Knocks Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War

During the Q&A section of The Predator panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2018, Iron Man 3 director Shane Black threw some shade at Infinity War, citing interactions between Thanos and Spider-Man.

"One moment there's a train coming at him he can turn it into a flock of birds," said Black. "The next minute Spider-Man is coming at him and he's like, 'Oh, my eyes! It's got webbing!' I loved the movie, it's just, the kid had to do something"

Black said he was a fan of Infinity War, but when answering one of the many questions about whether the Predator would win in a fight against a number of characters, the Thanos/Spider-Man disparity came up. IGN was in attendance at the panel.
