Dora the Explorer: First Look at Live-Action Movie Unveiled

Paramount has revealed the first look at its upcoming Dora the Explorer live-action movie.

The photo, which you can view below, features Isabela Moner as the titular character with her signature outfit and purple backpack.

The story follows an older Dora than in the original Nickelodeon show entering high school. She'll be going on an adventure to save her parents and solve the mystery behind a lost Inca civilization, all with the help from her monkey friend Boots and cousin Diego (Mick Moreno).

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Note 9 smartphone yesterday, showing off the new and improved features of its next iteration of its Note line. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 release date is August 24, and it comes in either a 128GB model with 6GB of RAM, or a 512GB model with 8GB of RAM.

Performance and Improvements

Inside the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is an upgraded Snapdragon 845 8-core CPU, and has a water/carbon fiber cooling system and "AI-based algorithm" for on-the-fly performance adjustments, something Samsung says works to improve performance in gaming.

New Rage 2 Gameplay Details Revealed

During the QuakeCon 2018 keynote, id Software and Avalanche Studios showed off new Rage 2 gameplay.

The bulk of the footage involves protagonist Walker breaking into the Eden Space Center and calling down a satellite from space while following the instructions of the original game's Dr. Kvasir. It's an extension of what was shown off during E3, but with new information and footage sprinkled in.

The wingstick, a boomerang-like projectile weapon, returns to Rage 2. An upgraded version of the wingstick can even target and kill enemies around corners by showing a trajectory line prior to throwing the weapon.

$900 Resident Evil 2 Remake Japanese Special Edition Includes a Bluetooth Typewriter Keyboard

The upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake is receiving an official Lexington typewriter USB keyboard with the Japanese Premium Edition of the game, and it will only set you back about $900 US.

This Lexington vintage typewriter is bluetooth enabled, comes with a charging cable, reportedly has an active battery life of up to seven days, and is compatible with Windows computers and MacOS, as well as iOS a Android devices. The keyboard apparently cannot be used with the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.

Interestingly, the typewriter design tries to keep things as traditional as possible, with the return bar acting as an additional enter key, and the paper feeder acting as a scrolling tool and volume knob.

Doom Eternal Gameplay, Story Details Revealed

During the official QuakeCon 2018 keynote, id Software showed off a bevy of new gameplay footage for Doom Eternal.

First up was a full seven minutes of gameplay from Doom Eternal that showed off new gameplay elements, including the Doom Slayer 2.0. Players will control this updated Slayer, complete with new armor, a shoulder-mounted cannon with a flamethrower, an extendable arm blade for melee attacks and a new dash ability.

Upgraded guns were also shown off, including the Super Shotgun's new Meat Hook attachment that pulls the Slayer towards demons, letting you get up close and personal before blowing them to bits.

The footage also introduces enemies, both old and new. This includes the Pain Elemental, Archvile and Arachnotron from previous Doom titles, while new enemies include the Doom Hunter and corrupted Marauders. The game's new "destructible demons" system shows enemies literally being torn apart progressively as you take them down.

Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel Sneak Peek: Tommy and Wes Return

The Power Rangers franchise celebrates its 25th anniversary this month on August 28, and as IGN exclusively revealed last month, the latest iteration in the series, Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel, returns with new episodes beginning Saturday, August 25 at 12 p.m., with a special anniversary episode airing Tuesday, August 28 at 8 p.m.

IGN has an exclusive sneak peek at the trailer for Super Ninja Steel's upcoming episodes, including a first look at the anniversary installment that features iconic Rangers Tommy Oliver (Jason David Frank) and Wes Collins (Jason Faunt) back in action. Check it out in the player above.

Quake Champions Is Now Free-to-Play, and Here’s What That Means

At today’s QuakeCon 2018 keynote, id Studio Director Tim Willits announced that the multiplayer PC shooter Quake Champions is going free-to-play. Quake Champions experimented with a free-to-play trial during E3 2018. Now, players will have long-term access to the game without paying a cent.

Players choosing to play Quake Champions for free gain access to standard matchmaking tools and a single Champion. Additional Champions may then be purchased with real-world currency. These unique characters each bring their own assortment of special abilities to the game. Purchasing the 29.99 Quake Champions pack unlocks access to all Champions now and in the future (on-sale on Steam for 19.79 until August 14). The Champions Pack also enables enhanced custom game setup options.

James Bond Producer Reportedly Says “It Is Time” For Non-White Bond

James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli reportedly believes "it is time" for a non-white actor to play 007, lending weight to rumours that Idris Elba will take on the role after Daniel Craig.

The Daily Star reports director Antoine Fuqua has talked with Broccoli about who'll take over for Daniel Craig if and when he departs the role. According to Fuqua, Broccoli thinks an ethnic minority actor should portray the secret agent and is certain “it will happen eventually”.

As for who's in the running to play Bond, Idris Elba is reportedly one of the top choices, with Fuqua saying the popular actor has the right presence for the role.
