PUBG Training Mode Announced

Currently set for this September, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will be getting a training mode that allows 5-20 players to practice and improve their skills on a 2x2 km map.

Announced via Steam, this new mode is part of the Fix PUBG campaign that was announced earlier this month and aims to make PUBG into a "better, more stable, and fairer game."

This new training mode will allow players to practice "all aspects of PUBG, from driving the game's various vehicles around the island's race tracks, to practicing parachute landings on scattered targets, to mastering the prefect peek shot."

Superman AND Lois Lane are Coming to the Arrowverse Crossover

The Arrowverse is bringing us one step closer to a World's Finest team-up.

The CW has announced that Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) will appear in all three episodes of this December's Arrowverse crossover between The Flash, Arrow and Supergirl, and this time, he'll be bringing Lois Lane with him.

This means that both characters will come into contact with Batwoman (Ruby Rose), who will make her debut in the crossover (and potentially headline her own spinoff series which is in development for a potential series order next May).

Netflix Developing Sequel to Death Note

Netflix is developing a sequel to its 2017 Death Note movie.

In a report focusing on the future of Netflix's movie division, THR has confirmed a Death Note sequel is in the works. Greg Russo, the writer of the forthcoming Mortal Kombat movie reboot, is penning the screenplay.

However, there's no word on whether or not director Adam Wingard will return to helm the sequel and there aren't any story and casting details that have been released either.

In the same report, THR notes Netflix Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos called the Death Note movie a “sizable” success for the streaming service.

Rocket League Will Soon See Big Progression Changes

Major changes are coming to Rocket League, including new XP, progression and clubs systems. The initial update is coming August 29 to all platforms, with Rocket Pass, a time-limited item unlock system, launching the following week.

The update will remove the previous level 75 cap and players who have continued earning XP through online matches beyond that level cap will be taken to an even higher level based on the XP they would have earned. In addition to this, the amount of XP needed to progress between levels is being flattened.

Big Bang Theory to End in 2019

The Big Bang Theory will end in 2019, production studio Warner Bros. TV has announced.

The show's 12th and final season will premiere September 24 on CBS, and its final episode will air in May 2019.

The series currently stands as TV's highest-rated comedy and is the longest-running multi-cam show in TV history, according to WBTV. By the time it wraps up next Spring, The Big Bang Theory will have aired 279 episodes.

In a joint statement, WBTV, CBS and Chuck Lorre Productions said, “We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory during the past twelve seasons. We, along with the cast, writers and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show’s success and aim to deliver a final season, and series finale, that will bring The Big Bang Theory to an epic creative close.”

Spyro Reignited Trilogy: Three New Levels, Skateboarding Gameplay Revealed

Toys for Bob and Activision have unveiled gameplay from the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, including the first level shown off in full from Spyro: Year of the Dragon and a look at Spyro skateboarding from that level.

As captured by IGN, the gameplay below shows off more of Toys for Bob's upcoming remake trilogy. The first clip is from Spyro: Year of the Dragon, the third Spyro adventure, and sees Spyro in Sunny Villa helping out Councillor George stop "hordes of ferocious Rhynocs" who have kidnapped the mayor.

The second clip is also from Sunny Villa and begins with Spyro meeting up with Hunter who "found this gladiator training arena that also makes for a pretty cool skate park!"

YouTube Will Release 50 Original Shows Next Year

YouTube is increasing its original programming and is set to release 50 original shows next year.

Per THR, head of originals EMEA Luke Hyams revealed at the Edinburgh TV Festival the paid-for YouTube Premium service will debut dozens of original shows throughout 2019.

This includes the upcoming sci-fi horror series Origin, starring Harry Potter's Tom Felton and Natalia Tena.

There's also a docuseries about artificial intelligence narrated by Robert Downey Jr. to look forward to, and a dark comedy starring Kirsten Dunst called On Becoming God in Central Florida.

Nvidia Shares RTX 2080 4K Performance Benchmarks

Nvidia gathered all the assembled journalists at Gamescom today to share more details about its RTX series GPUs, including performance numbers in a handful of top titles, including 4k performance numbers. Since I wasn't allowed to do any of my own benchmarking all I have to share is Nvidia's slides, so take them with a grain of salt since these are essentially marketing materials. We'll be doing our own independent benchmarking as soon as we get the GPU series in-hand. First up are some 4k benchmarks for current games, meaning there is no RTX fanciness impacting these numbers, which provides a sense of how the GPU runs games that are out right now and compare to 2017's GPUs.
