This Creepy New Thriller Will Probably Make You Want to Quit the Internet

All September long, IGN is spotlighting the best TV coming your way in the 2018-2019 season. Today we're diving into Lifetime's You, based on the Caroline Kepnes novel of the same name. The 10-episode first season follows Joe (Penn Badgley), a seemingly chivalrous bookstore manager, and Beck (Elizabeth Lail), an aspiring writer and overworked grad student, as they begin a relationship. Unfortunately for Beck, Joe's crush soon morphs into obsession, and thanks to his social media savvy, it doesn't take long for him to position himself as the perfect partner for Beck, even as he methodically begins to remove every obstacle (and person) that might get in the way of their romance.

Xbox One Now Connects to Alexa and Cortana Devices

Microsoft is releasing an Xbox Skill for Alexa and Cortana-enabled devices, adding remote voice controls for Xbox One.

Announced on Xbox Wire, the skill will allow you to turn your console on and off, launch games and apps, start and stop Mixer broadcasts, control volume, control media playback, navigate menus and capture screenshots and videos.

The Skill also bypasses steps, so if you tell your Amazon Echo to start a game when your console is off, it'll turn on the console, sign you in, and boot the game.

The Skill will be coming today to some members of the Xbox Insiders program in the US, with unannounced release dates for the rest of the world. To check if it's been added to your console, head to Settings on your Xbox One, then hit 'Devices' - if you see 'Digital Assistant' listed, you're good to go.

Red Dead Redemption 2: Rockstar Reveals New Character Information

Update 09/07/18: Rockstar has now released short biographies for every character shown off yesterday - for readability, you'll find them at the end of the story.

Rockstar Games spent yesterday rounding up its posse. Put another way, the developer is tweeting out names and quotes for some of the characters coming in Red Dead Redemption 2, most of whom seem to be at least associated with the Dutch Van der Linde gang.

Many of these characters were known to us either from the last game, or our previews of the next - but a few of these characters are being seen or named for the first time. Check out the whole line-up below:

THQ Nordic Buys Kingdoms of Amalur Franchise

THQ Nordic has purchased the Kingdoms of Amalur franchise from 38 Studios.

The company has finalized a deal to acquire Kingdoms of Amalur and the Amalur property based on the abandoned Copernicus MMORPG project.

There's no word yet if THQ Nordic will now work on new Amalur projects in the near future.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning came out back in 2012 and features fast-paced third-person combat. The game hails from author R.A. Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion lead designer Ken Rolston.

We awarded it a 9.0, saying that "if you're looking for bang for your buck, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning has it in droves".

Developer 38 Studios would eventually get sued by the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation. The company took out a $75 million dollar loan it couldn't pay back, supported by Rhode Island taxpayers. In 2016 the developer was not indicted with criminal charges.

How This New Superman Comic Aims to Hook New DC Readers

When a strange kidnapping occurs, you might think that Batman is the right hero to take the case, but when the evildoer abducts the little girl into space, it becomes a job for Superman. That’s the premise of the upcoming "Up in the Sky!" 12-part story arc from writer Tom King and artist Andy Kubert, although that’s not the only thing a little different about this comic. The story will be debuting exclusively in Superman Giant #3 -- a 100-page collection of comics that can only be found in Walmart, rather than your typical comic book shop. DC’s partnership with Walmart aims to reach a new audience with these comics that feature both classic and brand new material, and this story by two comic industry juggernauts is intended to be one of the big draws.
