Actor Burt Reynolds Dies at 82

Burt Reynolds, the star of films such as Smokey and the Bandit, Deliverance, and The Longest Yard has died at the age of 82, according to THR.

Confirmed by his manager, Erik Kritzer to THR, Reynolds died Thursday morning at Jupiter Medical Center in Florida. Multiple reports are stating that Reynolds died following a heart attack.

Reynolds began his acting career in television on multiple westerns and police shows before jumping into action movies in the 1970s and 1980s. He was known for choosing his roles based on how fun they seemed to be, and later regretted not taking on challenging roles, as he wrote in his memoir, But Enough About Me.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout Mode Has Consumables That Grant Timed Perks

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout mode will have consumables on the map that will enable, for a limited time, "Black Ops' signature perk power-ups."

Speaking to Game Informer, Treyarch studio design director David Vonderhaar explained that "in Blackout, the perks are consumables, you collect them, you use them, they have a timer."

These perks take up inventory slots so deciding between them and other options will be a tough one.

Oscars Won’t Present Best Popular Film Category Next Year After All

In a press release from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the previously announced Outstanding Achievement in Popular Film category won’t be coming to the 91st Oscars ceremony after all.

The Academy said that adding the new Oscars category merits further study, stating "The Academy recognized that implementing any new award nine months into the year creates challenges for films that have already been released. The Board of Governors continues to be actively engaged in discussions, and will examine and seek additional input regarding this category."

Captain Marvel Is the Most Powerful Hero the MCU Has Ever Seen

Captain Marvel is the MCU's most powerful superhero, according to  Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

Feige confirmed to EW Carol Danvers' power is unmatched in the MCU. To prepare for the role, Brie Larson began training nine months prior to filming.

Larson, who'll play the titular character in her own solo film next year, had to learn boxing, judo, and wrestling to help portray the superhero.

Captain Marvel won't be an origin story. Instead, the film begins after Carol Danvers already has her powers and is part of Starforce, a Kree military team.

Speaking to EW, Dinklage explained Tyrion is feeling confused and even jealous about the whole situation. He cares about Jon and Daenerys, as he relates to both of these characters the most. But, Tyrion might have strong feelings for Daenerys.

Insomniac Explains How Spider-Man’s 4K, HDR Works

Insomniac Games has decided to give fans a little peek behind the curtain of Marvel’s Spider-Man, explaining how 4K, HDR and more was handled in the development process.

In an interview on PlayStation Blog, Insomniac’s director of core Mike Fitzgerald and chief architect Al Hastings ran down how the team rendered Spider-Man’s Manhattan.

"Like many open-world games, we have to carefully parcel up our world up into small sections, since the whole island of Manhattan would be impossible to fit into the PS4’s memory at one time,” said Fitzgerald. "There are approximately 800 square tiles making up our version of Marvel’s New York, each 128 meters square, making the city several times larger than what we built for Sunset Overdrive.”

Nintendo Appears to Leak the Name of the Yoshi Switch Game

Nintendo seems to have accidentally leaked the title of Yoshi's previously unnamed 2019 Switch game: Yoshi's Crafted World.

Twitter user @TheOgEVG was perusing Nintendo's official website and looking at the Super Smash Bros. page when he spotted the apparent slip. At the bottom of the page, a suggested games tool pulled up a 2019 Nintendo Switch game with the name Yoshi's Crafted World clearly displayed. Although IGN has been unable to replicate that suggested result – Nintendo has likely taken it down by now – other site visitors have also reported seeing it.
