Insomniac Would Love to Make Sunset Overdrive 2

Insomniac would "love to" make a sequel to its critically acclaimed Xbox One exclusive, Sunset Overdrive.

In this month's episode of IGN Unfiltered, Ryan McCaffrey sat down with Insomniac CEO Ted Price and discussed the potential future of the Insomniac-owned IP.

“I think one of the great things about starting a franchise and having the opportunity to make sequels," Price said, "is that you’ve, in many cases, made the hardest decisions already.”

“When you establish an IP, you now know what the tone is, you know what the character is, you know what the core mechanics are that work. You know what players liked and didn’t like," Price continued, "so, doing a sequel for any game, be it Sunset Overdrive or something else, is an opportunity to deliver something to fans that’s significantly better than the original, and that’s something that I think we

Eli Roth is Honoring Horror’s Greats in New TV Series

When Eli Roth's name comes up in conversations, it's a safe bet that horror films are the topic of said discussion. Even though it's been five years since Roth released his last genre movie -- 2013's Green Inferno, which was an ultra gruesome send-up to '70s horror classic, Cannibal Holocaust -- the writer-director still resides in the fandom that inspired him to make Cabin Fever, his first breakout hit.

Demonstrating his love for horror cinema, its history, and the passionate fandom that comes with it, Roth acts as the producer, curator, and host of AMC's next installment of their Visionaries docuseries. Earlier this year year, James Cameron led a series of episodes exploring cinematic science fiction through the years. Just in time for the Halloween season, Roth is spearheading seven episodes of the next installment of the series, exploring the History of Horror for casual and die-hard fans alike.

Amazing Spider-Man #5 Review

STL092469

Written by Nick Spencer | Drawn by Ryan Ottley

"It's easy to picture Marvel's latest Amazing Spider-Man relaunch turning out poorly. Writer Dan Slott was a near-impossible act to follow, given the huge mark he left on the franchise. Yet over the course of this opening storyline, Nick Spencer and Ryan Ottley have managed to make the series their own even as they continue very naturally from where Slott left off. The result is a comic that manages to bring Spidey back to basics even as it continues to push him forward and challenge him in unexpected ways." -Jesse

Hearthstone’s Boomsday Meta: No Nerfs Required?

I recently caught up with Blizzard’s Team 5 to talk about Hearthstone’s latest expansion – The Boomsday Project. The bulk of that interview focuses on designing the legendaries of the set – and will be published soon – but I also took the opportunity to ask Lead Final Designer Dean Ayala about the overall health of the game right now, and whether there’s likely to be any nerfs.

Here's what he had to say.

IGN: It seems like a super diverse meta right now. There are a lot of viable decks. How are you feeling about it?

Dean Ayala: I think it has been really positive. Decks like Odd Warrior have been showing up, and stuff like Deathrattle Hunter, and lots of different stuff. So I would say that everything has been really positive. The two classes that haven't been showing up quite as much in terms of popularity, have been Shaman and Priest. But even with those decks, I was actually looking at data the other day and every single class had some archetype that was above 50 percent, which is generally a good place to be. There are Control Priests that are just playing like basically just Priest cards, you know? Like Cabal Shadow Priest and some people are even running Mind Control. Even Shaman is still really good. There are still some people out there doing Shudderwock stuff but I'd say most of the more competitive decks are Even Shaman for Shaman specifically.
