Destiny 2 Fans Are Conflicted Over Forsaken’s Raid Requirements
Destiny 2's latest raid, Last Wish, launched last Friday as part of the new Forsaken expansion and of all the Guardians who attempted to conquer its challenge, only 18 Guardians completed the raid in the first 24 hours and 2 minutes.
According to the Destiny Raid Report, the first team of Guardians to complete Last Wish and become World First were members of Clan Redeem and finished in 18 hours and 48 minutes. Yes, 18 hours and 48 minutes straight.
For comparison, Destiny 2's first raid, Leviathan, was completed in 5 hours and 34 minutes and over 4,500 Guardians finished the raid in the first 24 hours.
What Time Does Nintendo Switch Online Launch?
Nintendo previously announced the Switch Online subscription service would launch on Sept. 18. Of course, today is Sept. 18, and the service hasn't yet launched — but if you're worrying, fear not, we do have a specific time frame in mind for when you can subscribe.
The Nintendo Switch is going through maintenance today, Sept. 18, from 5-8 p.m. PT/8-11 p.m. ET/1-4 a.m. BST on Sept. 19/10 a.m.-1 p.m. AEST on Sept. 19. The 6.00 update is scheduled to be deployed at the beginning of that timeframe, and the eShop will be going through maintenance and will be inaccessible during that time.
Sega Genesis Classics Coming to Nintendo Switch
SEGA is bringing its SEGA Genesis Classics (SEGA Mega Drive Classics in the UK) collection over to the Nintendo Switch, the publisher announced this morning.
SEGA Genesis Classics will arrive on Switch this winter with both physical and digital versions available. The collection features over 50 classic SEGA games and was first released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in May.
The 50 games include obvious classics like Sonic the Hedgehog and Mortal Kombat as well as a bevy of deeper cuts. They feature upgrades over their original releases like online multiplayer, achievements, mirror modes, rewind and save states. A full list of all 50 games compared to those included in two similar collections SEGA released in 2009 and 2017 appears is below, with the exclusives to each bundle bolded.
New Live-Action Avatar: The Last Airbender Series Coming to Netflix
Netflix has announced that it will bring Aang's epic story to Netflix in a live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Beginning production in 2019, Avatar: The Last Airbender will be helmed by original series creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino.
"We're thrilled for the opportunity to helm this live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. We can't wait to realize Aang's world as cinematically as we always imagined it to be, and with a culturally appropriate, non-whitewashed cast. It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance to build upon everyone's great work on the original animated series and go even deeper into the characters, story, action, and world-building. Netflix is wholly dedicated to manifesting our vision for this retelling, and we're incredibly grateful to be partnering with them," explained Konietzko and DiMartino.
The Best Mega Man Games You Probably Never Played
With the arrival of Mega Man X Legacy Collection in July, gamers are falling in love with the X series all over again. Most fans would tell you that the X games revolutionized Mega Man, but that the series lost favor in the early 2000s, with X6-X8 being the nails in the coffin for these action platformers. Capcom had begun transitioning to the Battle Network style in the early 2000s, but this telling leaves out some of the most exciting and engaging Mega Man games to date.
Mega Man ZX and ZX Advent were released on the Nintendo DS in 2006 and 2007, both of which are sequels to the more widely appreciated Mega Man Zero. The ZX series had generally strong reviews, but some of the lowest sales in the franchise’s history. It’s really a shame, because both games not only provide the high-paced side-scrolling action that fans crave, but they also push X-style gameplay forward in several interesting ways.

It was not the first chronologically in terms of story (the actual chronological order can be found here), but it is certainly a microcosm for essential key moments that showcase the brilliance of this animated series. This includes illustrating the paradox of the Jedi and how they were destined to fall, Yoda's awesomeness, the importance of the Clones as actual characters, and much more.

Today, we're delving into the mysterious world of Project Blue Book, executive produced by Robert Zemeckis. The sci-fi drama tells the story of Dr. Allen Hynek, a genius college professor recruited by the U.S. Air Force to spearhead the titular operation that researched thousands of real-life cases involving Unidentified Flying Objects, many of which were never solved. The series premieres this winter on History.

Earth Defense Force 5 Is Cheesy By Design, and I Kind of Love it for That
If Earth Defense Force 5 had paid DLC that put the Mystery Science Theater 3000 silhouettes at the bottom of the screen to riff on the on-screen action, I’d buy a Season Pass. Yes, the video game equivalent of a ‘50s sci-fi B-movie about shooting giant bugs and/or UFOs is back, and it embraces the cheese. It is dumb by design, and it embraces it, and after playing a handful of missions in both EDF5 and its cousin title Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain, I couldn’t help but have fun.
Graphics? Not great. Controls? So-so. Voice acting? So, so terrible that it’s actually delightfully fantastic. I’ll bet they had a ball at the voiceover recording sessions. And that’s the beauty of this series: it realized a long time ago that if it stopped taking itself seriously and leaned in the opposite direction that it could be something different and unique. Earth Defense Force 5 is the ultimate palate cleanser from whatever deep single-player experience you’re currently soaking yourself in.

It’s the final week of filming for Venom, and Tom Hardy is standing in front of a cable car wearing a grey sweatshirt, jeans and simple sneakers, his hair slightly ruffled. Looking like he just walked in off the street, this Tom Hardy is exactly the one you’d expect to see in real life. Instead, he’s preparing to play a character who’s wrestling with a much more dangerous side.
On set, there is no physical embodiment of Venom, the dangerous symbiote who merges with Eddie Brock and is splashed across the branding for the the upcoming movie. But the presence of the iconic Marvel character hangs over the set, with crew members wearing hoodies sporting the Venom movie logo revealed at Brazil Comic-Con.
