Devil May Cry 5 Has Multiplayer and Microtransactions

A TGS demo and PlayStation Store listing have revealed Devil May Cry 5 will have both microtransactions and some form of online multiplayer.

Fans have been able to play DMC 5 at TGS 2018 this week, which led Gamespot to notice that players can pay real world money to purchase the series' in-game currency, red orbs.

The orbs, which traditionally are never abundant enough to unlock absolutely everything, are used to purchase upgrades to weapons, new moves and one-off consumables.

When asked why these were being included, series director Hideaki Itsuno said it was all about player choice. “With giving people the ability to purchase Red Orbs, it’s something we want to give people as an option. If they want to save time and just want to get all the stuff at once, those people can do that.”

Swiss Football Fans Protest eSports, Throw PS4 Controllers on Pitch

A Swiss Super League match between Young Boys and Basel was interrupted yesterday by fans protesting eSports.

Dexerto reports that yesterday's match, which ended in the trouncing of Basel by Young Boys in a 7-1 victory, was halted 15 minutes in after the pitch was pelted with tennis balls and a PlayStation controller scrawled with obscenities directed towards eSports. Football fans also unfurled banners that displayed messages along the same theme.

The protests were apparently made in response to both clubs' investment in eSports.

According to a new report, a Diablo animated series could be heading to Netflix.

This comes from a since-deleted tweet from comic book publishing company Boom! Studios founder Andrew "Andy" Cosby (reported by Variety), who said that he was in "final talks" to helm the show for Activision Blizzard and Netflix. “It’s very exciting and I hope to the High Heavens it all works out," he reportedly said.

If the rumor is true, Cosby would be juggling the series alongside his work on the Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen script, that he is co-writing with Christopher Golden and Mike Mignola.

How HBO’s Camping Lured Jennifer Garner Back to TV

Throughout September, IGN is spotlighting the best TV coming your way in the 2018-2019 season. Today, we've got an exclusive first look at HBO's Camping, starring Jennifer Garner and David Tennant, and based on the British series of the same name by Julia Davis. According to HBO, "Camping follows married couple Kathryn and Walt, who have planned a delightful weekend “back to nature” for Walt’s 45th birthday. But when the camping trip gathers Kathryn’s meek sister, holier-than-thou ex-best friend, and a free-spirited tagalong in one place, it becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman-on-woman crime that won’t soon be forgotten." Camping premieres October 14.

Catherine: Full Body Is More Than Just a Remaster

Catherine: Full Body is much more than just a remaster of 2011’s puzzle adventure with some tweaks and additional scenario pieces here and there. With the addition of a third heroine character, producer Katsura Hashino and his team at Studio Zero did not just add her part, but fleshed out the original story to make her fit in more naturally. That means that fans of the original have a lot of new content to look forward to. “The new edition has 1.5 the content of the original game,” Hashino tells me.

Protagonist Vincent is a 32-year-old systems engineer salaryman, and is facing what is best described as a midlife crisis. His girlfriend Katherine’s period is late, and she wants Vincent to be more serious about their relationship. Vincent himself is not exactly a family man, and he is not sure how to cope with his girlfriend’s news. After work, he goes drinking at Stray Sheep, his favorite bar, and the next morning he wakes up with a gorgeous blonde bombshell beside him by the name of Catherine. She becomes Vincent’s secret lover, but Catherine doesn’t know that Vincent already has a steady girlfriend. That means that he not only has to keep Catherine a secret to Katherine, but also the other way around. Eventually, Vincent (and therefore the player) has to choose which of the two is his true love.

Why We’re Surprisingly Excited for Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered

Time hasn't been especially kind to Assassin's Creed III, the trilogy-ending capper to the first era of Assassin's Creed games. Though it received many favorable reviews at its launch, the issues players had with it —have lingered.

So it came as a surprise to many, including the crew of IGN's weekly PlayStation show Beyond, that Assassin's creed III would be remastered as part of the Assassin's Creed Odyssey season pass. But with the promise of "higher resolution textures, a new graphics engine, other graphical enhancements and improved gameplay mechanics," the Beyond crew in the clip above discusses why they're actually intrigued and interested in returning to AC3 and seeing what's changed.

Daredevil Season 3: First Look Photos Show Matt in Old Costume

Earlier this week, Marvel and Netflix debuted a teaser trailer for Season 3 of Daredevil, which is set to premiere on Friday, October 19. The trailer featured Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) wearing his signature black sweatsuit and mask from Season 1. Apparently, he's going old school this time around. No fancy red armor required.

While the trailer had some great reveals, like the return of Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), aka Kingpin, the video was short, making it difficult to get a detailed look at Matt, especially with all of the frenzied action. Thankfully, Netflix and Marvel unveiled three new high-resolution images, so you can see The Devil of Hell's Kitchen in more detail. Check out the gallery below for a better look:
