Kingdom Hearts 3’s Opening Song Is a Skrillex/Utada Hikaru Collaboration

Square Enix has confirmed that the opening theme song to Kingdom Hearts III, titled "Face My Fears," is a collaboration between longtime Kingdom Hearts theme musician Utada Hikaru and Grammy Award-winning artist Skrillex.

According to Square, Kingdom Hearts fan Skrillex previously intended to work with Hikaru to remix "Don't Think Twice," a previously revealed Kingdom Hearts III track. Their collaboration grew into the new track, which will be released on Jan. 18, 2019 alongside "Don't Think Twice."

Producer Poo Bear also collaborated on the track. A listing from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers days ago hinted at this possible collaboration, but Square has at last confirmed it's a reality.

Gambit Movie Will be a Romantic Comedy, Says Producer

The Channing Tatum Gambit standalone movie will have a "romantic or sex comedy vibe," according to a producer.

In an interview with IGN, Simon Kinberg, producer on Gambit and director-writer on Dark Phoenix, confirmed the movie will adopt a "romantic comedy" tone due to the nature of Gambit, himself.

"When you look at Gambit," Kinberg said, "he’s a hustler and a womanizer and we just felt like there was an attitude, a swagger to him, that lent itself to romantic comedy."

Kinberg said the studio has taken a similar approach, allowing the film's main character to dictate tone or genre, with Deadpool and Logan, both of which were big hits at the box office. "Deadpool was an R-rated, raunchy comedy, Logan was a western, Gambit’s gonna be a romantic comedy, and New Mutants is very decidedly a horror film."

Pokemon Let’s Go Works Without Motion Controls, But There’s a Catch

Contrary to previous reports, motion controls are not required to catch Pokemon while playing Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! in handheld mode, according to a statement from Nintendo. However, there are still many lingering questions about how that process will actually work.

Here’s the full statement provided to IGN by a Nintendo representative:

“Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! do not require players to use motion controls or physical gestures when in Handheld Mode. Instead, players can use the joystick on the left Joy-Con controller to aim and press the A button to throw a Poké Ball. The simulated throwing motion associated with the Joy-Con controllers or Poké Ball Plus are intended to enhance the gameplay experience, but are not required to play these games.”

Nintendo Wins Lawsuit Against Unlicensed Tokyo Mario Kart Ride Company

Tokyo tourists will no longer unofficially be suiting up as their favorite Mario characters and riding go-karts around the city. Nintendo won a lawsuit against an unlicensed Mario Kart ride company today, resulting in damages and the company being banned from using Mario costumes.

Wall Street Journal Tech Reporter Takashi Mochizuki first reported that Tokyo's Mari Mobility company, which was previously known as MariCar, would have to pay Nintendo 10 million yen (about $88,000 USD) and stop using "Nintendo-related" outfits. "The street go-cart company operates services in Japan, and Nintendo was complaining it was damaging its 'Mario Kart' franchise," Mochizuki wrote.
