Halloween Is a Multiverse and Michael Myers Is Just Living in It
On the night of October 31, 1978, Michael Myers, AKA The Shape, killed three people… and then a whole bunch of other people that same night. Or maybe it was just those first three? One thing’s for sure, his main target, teenager Laurie Strode, was his sister. Well, unless she isn’t. But what we do know is that Laurie went on to have a daughter… No, scratch that, she had a son. No, wait, a daughter!
John Carpenter’s 1978 horror classic Halloween was a critically acclaimed breakout hit and created a long-running franchise in the process. But one thing it didn’t create was an easy to follow timeline. The new Halloween film -- the third movie in this franchise to use that exact title -- is getting a ton of buzz and positive reviews, including from IGN. But those who are more casual viewers of Michael Myers and his slashing ways may step into the theater a bit confused. Just incidentally speaking, I’ve personally witnessed discussions at my local movie theater, along with a ton of online chatter, that ponders how this new movie fits in with the other sequels, especially given the events of Halloween H20 and Halloween: Resurrection (the seventh and eighth films in the franchise, respectively) and how they dealt with Michael Myers and Laurie Strode.
Battlefield 5 Has a German Perspective War Story, But ‘It’s Not a Hero Story’
Following yesterday's detailing of several of Battlefield 5's Allied Forces campaign missions, DICE dropped the big one: Battlefield 5 has a War Story that takes place from the Axis Powers' perspective.
Speaking with Eurogamer, Franchise Design Director Daniel Berlin detailed Battlefield 5's The Last Tiger War Story, which puts players in control of a German soldier inside a Tiger tank. A DICE representative was clear to say, however, that the German soldier is not a Nazi. In fact, one of the biggest themes of the story is the tank crew's questioning of the Nazis' goals even as they fight for them.
Games-as-Service Model Helps EA and Activision Grow By a Combined $79 Billion
Judging by a report from analyst group DFC Intelligence, the games-as-a-service trend popularized by Activision and EA is here to stay. First reported by GameDaily, EA and Activision have grown by a combined $79 billion since 2012, propelled by games-as-service style releases.
DFC Intelligence studied the value of both games-as-a-service and standard releases with one-off purchases. In terms of games-as-service, Activision's value has ballooned from $10 billion in 2012 to $60 billion. Meanwhile, EA has grown to $33 billion, a marked increase from its $4 billion value in 2012.

Due to tangible demand, the IGN UK podcast is BACK! This week we've mostly been playing Dark Souls on Switch, getting the willies stuffed up us by The Haunting of Hill House and watching Nicolas Cage go berzerkoid.
We also watched Bad Times at the El Royale which we didn't have any particularly strong feelings about either way but sometimes we come up with the title of the podcast before we record...so....yeah.

Rockstar Fixes GTA 5 Exploit That Allowed Modders to Kill You in Single Player Mode
Rockstar Games has fixed an exploit in Grand Theft Auto 5 that allowed modders to kill or kick other players, including those not in the multiplayer session or even playing the single player mode.
According the Reddit user FriendlyBaron, the PC exploit was made possible because of a new menu that shows users' Rockstar Social Club ID numbers to other players. With the right tools, other players could then use this information to change your game, killing you at any point -- even when they weren't with you.

Tom Holland Shows Off New Spider-Man: Far From Home Costume
Tom Holland appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, dressed in his new costume for Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Not breaking from his character (and accent) for Peter Parker, Holland ran on stage with a traffic cone on his head after Kimmel colleague Guillermo had stolen his mask.

Days Gone Delayed to April 2019
Days Gone has been delayed until April 26, 2019.
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, SIEA marketing vice president Asad Qizilbash wrote that Sony “decided to move the release of Days Gone from the crowded February timeframe” into April.
“While the studio is eager to see Days Gone in the hands of fans, Bend Studio will take the opportunity to further polish Days Gone,” he added.
Days Gone was previously scheduled for February 22, 2019. The game was originally due out this year but was delayed to 2019 back in March.
Starlink’s Toys Are $170 More Expensive Than Its Digital Version
Ubisoft’s Starlink: Battle for Atlas launched this week, marking a surprising return to the toys-to-life genre that burned out last year. But unlike games like Skylanders or Disney Infinity, you don’t actually need Starlink’s physical toys to play it -- in fact, it’s way better (and cheaper) to skip them entirely.
That’s right, not only can you play the game without having a ship strapped to your controller, the digital versions of Starlink come with more ships, pilots, and guns than the physical versions do at a lower overall price. New Kingdom Hearts 3 Screenshots Show Off Hercules World
Update: Shortly after revealing the Kingdom Hearts 3 Twilight Town screenshots, Square Enix released yet another batch of new KH3 screens.
Check out the gallery below to see images and character renders rom the Hercules-based world, Olympus.
Hercules has been part of the franchise since its first entry, with the Olympus Coliseum serving as a world and primarily a challenge arena in Kingdom Hearts 1. Sora, Donald, and Goofy returned to Herc's world in Kingdom Hearts 2, only to explore the Underworld of Hades. KH3 looks to be taking things northward, toward Olympus, as we've seen in previously gameplay and trailers.
