Red Dead Online: First Update Re-Balances Economy and Offers Player Gifts

Rockstar has announced that they’re beginning to implement some of the updates and changes to Red Dead Online they’re making in part due to player feedback. The team also promises gifts of cash and gold (the in-game premium currency) to players who have participated in the beta up through midnight (PT) tonight.

The most notable updates are that cash and gold payouts throughout all game modes will increase, price drops on most weapons in in-game shops and refunds for players that have already purchased them at full price.

Here’s a Brand New PUBG Short Film by Metal Gear Solid Movie Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts

Jordan Vogt-Roberts, director of Kong: Skull Island and the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie, has directed and released a PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds live-action short film.

Revealed on PUBG's Twitter, this collaboration is in celebration of PUBG launching on the PlayStation 4 tomorrow, December 7, and stars Jason Mitchell, also of Kong: Skull Island, and "a Level 3 pan."

Hulu's horror anthology series, Into the Dark, is back with another terrifying adventure, titled Pooka! Directed by Oscar-nominee Nacho Vigalondo (Colossal), Pooka! is set to premiere on Friday, December 7.

According to Hulu, "a struggling actor gets a holiday season job as a Christmas character in a plush suit to promote the hottest toy of the year, 'Pooka.' At first, it’s a fun and friendly distraction, but he slowly develops two personalities–one when he’s in the suit, and one that’s outside it–as Pooka slowly starts to take possession of him." First Details, Video of Burnout Successor Dangerous Driving Revealed

If the Dangerous Driving video above looks a bit familiar and hits you right in the nostalgia portion of your soul, that’s by design. Three Fields Entertainment, formed almost five years ago by Burnout co-creators Fiona Sperry, Alex Ward, and a number of other former Criterion developers, has been building up to this moment for a while. The team learned the Unreal Engine and got its feet wet with the engine’s physics system in its first project, Dangerous Golf, and then dipped its toe in the Burnout waters with Danger Zone. 2018’s Danger Zone 2 (see my review below) got us closer to the glory days of Burnout’s Crash Mode than ever, and now Dangerous Driving looks to do the same for Burnout’s other memorable mode, Road Rage.

Destiny 2: Bungie Lowers Power Requirements for the Black Armory

Bungie has dropped the Power requirements for the Lost Forges following player feedback.

Destiny 2's Black Armory mini expansion went live this week, and despite only being live for a couple of days, the devs have already implemented an update based on player feedback that will see the Power requirements for the Lost Forges decreased by five.

"Over the past day, we’ve been taking in your feedback. It's become clear that we made the initial Power requirements for the Lost Forges too high, keeping those sweet new rewards out of reach," read the update. "Some players at 600 Power have been unable to dive in and beat the final boss without grinding for new Power first."

Phil Spencer Wants Xbox Game Pass to Cross Over with Project xCloud

While on stage at the Barclays Global Technology, Media, and Telecommunications Conference in San Francisco this week, Xbox's Phil Spencer talked more about Microsoft's Project xCloud, its new initiative that will combine subscription-based Game Pass with xCloud, and how that will help it reach users on "over a billion Android phones."

The move comes in the wake of his continued success following his promotion to the Head of Xbox and the division making more than $10 billion in revenue for the first time during the fiscal year for 2018. Spencer said (via CNBC) that since the revenue for gaming has increased, CFO Amy Hood has told him that he's "made the spreadsheet" and that "she's going to pay attention."

Nominations for the 76th Golden Globe Awards were announced Thursday morning. Black Panther, Crazy Rich Asians, and Mary Poppins Returns are among the nominees.

Presenters Terry Crews, Danai Gurira, Leslie Mann, and Christian Slater joined President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Meher Tatna, Executive Producer Barry Adelman, and this year's Golden Globe Ambassador Isan Elba to announce the nominees for the 76th Golden Globes.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Wednesday that Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh will be hosting this year's awards show.
