Steven Spielberg Came up with the Idea for a Bumblebee Movie
Spielberg isn't just Bumblebee's executive producer; he was also apparently the film's idea man.
“The original idea for this film actually was Steven
,” Director Travis Knight told Yahoo Movies UK. “We can thank him for this film even existing.”
Bumblebee is the first spin-off movie from the Transformers franchise – and Spielberg served as executive producer on all five of the previous movies.
As it's a prequel to those films, Bumblebee will obviously have a similar look and feel. But Knight added that it was Spielberg's E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial that had a particularly huge influence on Bumblebee.
SAG Awards 2018: Black Panther Gets a Boost Ahead of the Oscars
The Screen Actors Guild Awards aren't only seen as recognition of actors' fine work, but as something of a marker for future Oscar triumphs – and Marvel will be pleased to see Black Panther picking up a key nomination for this year's ceremony.
Black Panther joined A Star Is Born, BlacKkKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody and Crazy Rich Asians in the running for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. That category's winner has become seen as a helpful prediction for Best Picture winners at the Academy Awards in recent years.

Red Dead Redemption 2’s Javier Actor Didn’t Know what Game He Was Working On at First
Red Dead Redemption 2 was in development for more than half a decade because it was finally released back in October, and actor Gabriel Sloyer went into the project unaware he was even working on the game.
Speaking to Eurogamer, Sloyer – who portrays outlaw Javier Escuella in the game – said it was only in "the first couple of months" that he had worked out exactly who he was playing.
"We knew because of the boots, and because of the language

Fallout 76’s New Ultrawide Mode Comes Under Fire From Players
Bethesda has irked PC players with the new 21:9 resolution support in Fallout 76's latest patch.
This week's Fallout 76 patch saw a number of changes roll out for the game, including adding ultrawide screen resolution support. However, players on Reddit have discovered that the new ultrawide mode appears to be nothing more than a modification to the INI file, meaning that 16:9 aspect ratio has been stretched to meet the wider resolution, rather than being a true 21:9 display.
The result is that, while the game appears to render correctly in 21:9, the UI doesn't adjust accordingly, stretching unnaturally.

Crisis on Infinite Earths Confirmed as 2019 Arrowverse Crossover
The final moments of the Arrowverse's 2018 "Elseworlds" crossover could change the multiverse as we know it - the 2019 Arrowverse crossover has been confirmed as "Crisis on Infinite Earths," an adaptation of a massive crossover storyline from DC Comics.
The tag at the end of "Elseworlds Part 3" promised that "Crisis on Infinite Earths" is coming in "Fall 2019," rather than the crossover's usual winter timeslot, implying that the upcoming Crisis might affect the full seasons of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
Doctor Strange Director Reportedly Returning for Sequel
Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson is reportedly set to direct a sequel starring the titular character.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Derrickson has finalized a deal with Disney, and actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Benedict Wong will reportedly return as well. Rachel McAdams, who played Strange’s love interest Christine Palmer, is also expected to reprise her role. This Doctor Strange sequel would be part of a Marvel Cinematic Universe phase following Avengers: Endgame.
Derrickson co-wrote the original screenplay, though a writer is not currently attached to the film, and reports indicate Marvel is in the midst of searching for one. Derrickson previously directed the horror films The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister and more.
Metal Gear Solid Tabletop Game Announced
Metal Gear Solid: The Board Game has been officially announced by Konami and IDW Games for a 2019 release.
Revealed through IDW Games, the tabletop game is designed by Emerson Matsuuchi, who previously designed the Century game series, Reef and Specter Ops. It will feature miniatures designed by sculptor Francesco Orrù and art from comic artist Kenneth Loh.
Described as a fully cooperative miniatures board game, it tells the story of the first Metal Gear Solid originally released on the PlayStation in 1998, letting players take on the roles of Solid Snake, Meryl Silverburgh, Otacon and Gray Fox. They each have unique skill sets used to avoid detection while completing objectives across multiple campaign scenarios.
What Conan the Barbarian’s Avengers Team-Up Could Mean for the Marvel Universe
The Conan the Barbarian franchise is returning to Marvel Comics in 2019. It's clear that one way Marvel plans on setting this latest incarnation of Conan apart from others is by having the Cimmerian warrior team up with the Avengers. Fans don't have to wait long to see that unlikely team-up, either. Conan will first cross paths with Earth's Mightiest Heroes in March's Avengers: No Road Home #6.
We can only assume this is the start of a larger trend. Marvel may well be working towards establishing the Conan franchise as a regular, influential piece of the Marvel Universe. Here's why we think this crossover could have significant implications.
