In Episode 4 of Humans Who Make Games podcast, Jason Rohrer – creator of Passage, The Castle Doctrine, and One Hour One Life – talks with host and life-long gamer, Adam Conover about the emotional feelings his games evoke and the bridge between art and games.

Rohrer goes into detail about his intentions on creating "real games" throughout his life and the importance of aesthetic in his games by interaction, opposed to traditional narratives.

Rohrer began in the game industry during a time when the Art Game Movement was becoming popular. He said they were trying to figure out how to connect with games that were, "more artistically evocative or emotionally engaging."

Marvel Makes Matt Murdock’s Life Even Worse in Daredevil #1

Matt Murdock is back in action in a new volume of Daredevil, but his life just continues to get worse.

The previous volume of Daredevil ended on a dark note. Matt thought he had finally triumphed over Mayor Fisk and exposed his crimes to the people of New York, only for the series to reveal that Matt had actually been trapped in a coma ever since being hit by a truck. This new series picks up weeks later, as Matt is returning to active duty as Daredevil and struggling to overcome his serious injuries.

BT Sport Brings Streaming App to Xbox One and More

BT Sport has extended its app to Xbox One, Apple TV and Samsung Smart TVs

The app, which has previously been restricted to PC and mobile devices, will initially allow users to stream all 1080p BT Sport channels.

The app will be updated to allow for 4K streaming and on-demand elements in future. BT adds that further platforms will be supported at a later date.

The app is free to use for any existing BT Sport subscriber, and app-only subscriptions cost £9 a month.

The move brings BT Sport closer to its main rivals, such as Sky, who have had console apps for some time.

Super Mario Bros. 2 and Kirby’s Adventure Are Headed to Nintendo Switch Online

Nintendo has announced that Super Mario Bros. 2 and Kirby's Adventure are both headed to Nintendo Switch Online next week.

On Wednesday, February 13, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Kirby's Adventure will join the ever-growing list of NES Classics that saw Zelda II: The Adventure of Link and Blaster Master added last month.

Super Mario Bros. 2 was first released in October of 1988 for the NES in North America and features Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Toadstool as playable characters who are all working their way to defeat Wart.

Avengers: Endgame Could Be the Longest Marvel Movie Ever

Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of Avengers: Endgame, have confirmed the film is “at the three-hour mark,” though edits are still being made to the film.

In an interview with Collider, one of the directors said, “I think the studio is down with what the best story is. Right now, we think the movie is playing well and we’ve had great responses from our test audiences and we’re feeling very good about where it is. We’re still doing work to it. We’re not done with it.

"Again, this is a culmination film of 22 movies, it’s a lot of storytelling to work into it. Emotion is an intrinsic part of that to us. When you have to tell a really complicated story and you want strong emotional moments with the characters, it just requires a certain amount of real estate. This one, in particular, feels like three hours worth of real estate.”

Disney Will Keep Making R-Rated Marvel Movies

Disney CEO Bob Iger reaffirmed that the company intends to keep R-Rated properties that it will acquire from the Fox merger as R-Rated, specifically referring to the Deadpool films.

In a Disney Q1 2019 earnings results call, Iger said "We do believe there is room for the Fox properties to exist without significant Disney influence over the nature of the content, meaning that we see that there is certainly popularity amongst Marvel fans for the R-Rated Deadpool films, as a for instance, we’re going to continue in that business.

"There might be room for more of that... as long as we’re very carefully branding them and making sure that we’re not in any way confusing the consumer with a product that would be either a Disney product or a more traditional Marvel product."

Disney Has No Plans to Publish Video Games Themselves

Disney currently has no plans to publish video games based on its own intellectual properties.

During the company's recent earnings call (Via DiscussingFilm), Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company Bob Iger stated Disney doesn't plan to publish any video games and will instead continue to license its brands to other studios.

An example of this is the current deal with EA which currently has the rights to make games under the Star Wars license. This includes titles like the Battlefront series, the recently cancelled open world Star Wars game that was being worked on by EA Vancouver, and the other single player Star Wars game that was also cancelled when Visceral Games closed down.

Jump Force: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s Jotaro Kujo and Dio Join the Fight

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's Jotaro Kujo and DIO have joined the ever expanding roster of Jump Force.

Announced during Inside Xbox, Jump Force's Koji Nakajima confirmed the two newest characters with a brand new trailer that shows of each character in action.

Jotaro Kujo, the third and most recurring JoJo in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, is the main protagonist of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, which takes place in 1987 and follow Jotaro as he develops mysterious powers known as Stands, in which his is named Star Platinum.

Dio Brando, on the the other hand, is the main antagonist of Stardust Crusaders (known as DIO) and is an evil and immortal vampire who wields a Stand named The World. Jotaro and his friends are in search of him to help save Jotaro's mother whose Stand has awakened and now her life is in danger.

EA Reports ‘Difficult’ Financial Quarter, Looks Ahead to Apex Legends and Anthem

EA has reported the recent financial quarter was a difficult one for the company, but it is planning for games like Anthem and Apex Legends to help perk up future earnings.

Today the company released its preliminary financial results for the quarter ending last December. While the numbers do appear to have a slight increase as compared to this time last year, this did not meet EA's financial expectations.
