Take-Two CEO on Epic Store: ‘We Want to Be Where the Consumer Is’
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick says the company doesn’t intend to exclusively distribute its games on the Epic Games Store, as the company isn’t “a believer in exclusive relationships."
In an earnings conference call this morning, in reference to if Take-Two is considering digitally distributing its games on the Epic Games Store exclusively for higher profit margins, Zelnick said "Our approach is to be wherever the consumer is and we distribute very widely. Generally speaking, we have not been a believer in exclusive relationships, and I wouldn’t comment on any particular store."
"The question’s been raised: shouldn’t you as a company be exclusively direct to consumer? I think our experience is that consumers want to shop where they can get a multiplicity of titles,” Zelnick said. "Our strategy is to be broadly distributed. We’re happy that Epic’s going into the business, we’re happy to have someone else at the table."
The First Photos from Game of Thrones Season 8 Are Here
HBO has released the first official photos from Game of Thrones Season 8, and naturally, they don't reveal much about the hotly-anticipated final episodes.
Still, they're proof that winter is finally upon us, and that for now, all of our favorites are still alive.
Check out the first images below:
The alliance between Jon and Daenerys is in full effect, as the duo can be seen looking out upon their icy domain, perhaps facing down the Night King's encroaching army of White Walkers, judging by the look of worry on Dany's face. Cersei, meanwhile, is standing alone, following Jaime's defection at the end of last season. Hit the comments with your theories on what the photos may or may not be telling us.
The Simpsons Renewed for 2 More Seasons
The Simpsons has been renewed for Seasons 31 and 32, extending its record as television's longest-running scripted primetime show.
According to Fox, by the time the animated comedy's 32nd season concludes, The Simpsons will have aired 713 episodes.
The series is currently in the middle of its 30th season, which features guest appearances from Guillermo del Toro, Will Forte, J.K. Simmons, Awkwafina, and Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos.
In addition to producing two more seasons, Fox is reportedly developing a second movie based on The Simpsons. The 2007 original made over $500 million USD at the worldwide box office, according to Box Office Mojo.
The Flash’s Next Villain Could Be Batman
A recent episode of The Flash, "Memorabilia," gave fans a closer look at the future of Central City and the Flash Museum that honors a fallen hero. That episode is crammed full of cameos and Easter eggs from DC Comics lore, but one stood out above all others. A villain named The Red Death is briefly referenced in this episode as a deadly enemy that The Flash fought at some point. If that name rings a bell, it's because The Red Death is one of the villains introduced in a 2017 Batman comic book crossover called Dark Nights: Metal.
Is this just one Batman reference among many in the aftermath of the "Elseworlds" crossover? Or could The Flash be teasing a Metal-inspired storyline down the road? Here's why we think this reference hints at much bigger things to come for the Arrowverse.
