Last night's Nintendo Direct had some wonderful surprises, and the best part is you can preorder the biggest games coming to Nintendo Switch in 2019 right now. That means you can drop a few bucks now and wait patiently until they arrive in your mailbox or at your front door.
Preorder Super Mario Maker 2
The Nintendo Direct started off strong, introducing a true sequel to the incredibly fun Super Mario Maker on Wii U. Unlike lots of criminally overlooked Wii U games (overlooked by virtue of being on Wii U), this isn't merely a remake for Nintendo Switch. Even the very short first look in the Nintendo Direct showed off dozens of new items and enemies. We all get to appreciate and enjoy a proper sequel. If you missed the original on Wii U or the 3DS version, you are in for a treat.

Fortnite's #ShareTheLove Valentine's Day event offers weeks of love-tinged rewards from now through to February 27th 2019.
First, anyone who wants to show their love to a favorite streamer, video maker, cosplayer (and more) will get a cute reward: players who enter a "support-a-creator" code before the end of the event will get a free Cuddle Hearts Wrap when the upcoming v7.40 update lands.
‘Excellence’ Reveals a Magical Secret Society in Turmoil
Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics have announced a brand new fantasy series called Excellence. This new project centers around a secret society of black magicians working to change the world, one thrown into turmoil by the emergence of an idealistic young magician named Spencer Dales.
Excellence is notable for having a creative team comprised entirely of creators of color, including writer Brandon Thomas (Horizon), artist Khary Randolph (Mosaic), colorist Emilio Lopez (Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider) and letterer Deron Bennett (Jim Henson's A Tale of Sand).

Skybound's official description for the series reads, "Spencer Dales was born into a world of magic. His father belongs to the Aegis, a secret society of black magicians ordered by their unseen masters to better the lives of others—of higher potential—but never themselves. But in this fight for a better future...who will stand beside him? Killing Eve Season 2 Gets a New Trailer
BBC America's Golden Globe-winning series - Killing Eve - returns for a second season, which is set to premiere on Sunday, April 7. The Season 2 premiere will simulcast on AMC and BBC America at 8:00 PM ET/PT.
April is still weeks away, but we've got you covered with an exciting new teaser trailer that gives us a glimpse at what's in store for the new season. Check it out in the video below:
"Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer return as Eve and Villanelle in this story of two women, bound by a mutual obsession and one brutal act. Killing Eve season two picks up just 30 seconds after the end of season one," according to a synopsis from BBC America. Oh won a Golden Globe award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series.
SpongeBob SquarePants Getting Spinoffs and a New TV Special
In commemoration of SpongeBob SquarePants’ 20th anniversary, Nickelodeon is planning a new TV special, spinoffs and more.
Nickelodeon’s holding the “Best Year Ever,” a tribute that includes an original one-hour special called SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout, which is premiering on Friday, July 12. There are also plans to expand the SpongeBob SquarePants universe with spinoffs focused on the core characters from the show, bringing them into new series, specials and feature-length movies. It will ultimately culminate with the May 22, 2020 release of The SpongeBob Movie: It’s A Wonderful Sponge.

Here’s How Much Captain Marvel Is Expected to Make Its Opening Weekend
Captain Marvel is set to be one of 2019’s first major blockbusters, as it’s estimated to make $100 million or more over its opening weekend.
Per Variety, some tracking services expect the film to perform well beyond this number, maybe reaching as much as $120 million in its first few days with good word of mouth. The most recent MCU film, Ant-Man and the Wasp, opened at $75 million its inaugural weekend. Even though this is a significant number, it’s only the 16th highest debut out of the 20 MCU films.
You’ve Never Seen Anything Like Netflix’s Love, Death & Robots on TV
Netflix's latest anthology, Love, Death & Robots, is like nothing you've seen before - by design.
The project hails from the devious minds of Deadpool director Tim Miller and Mindhunter's David Fincher, who are executive producing the endeavor, but each of the 18 animated shorts (which are definitely NSFW) is created by different teams of animation filmmakers from around the world, including Hungary, France, Canada, and Korea, among others.
As you might be able to tell from our first look at the trailer, the shorts span numerous genres - blending science fiction, fantasy, horror, and comedy - as well as utilizing various animation styles, from traditional 2D to photo-real 3D CGI, creating what looks like a surreal, scary, and sexy fever dream that would probably make Philip K. Dick wake up in a cold sweat.

Star Wars: Rian Johnson Confirms He’s ‘Still Working’ on New Trilogy
Following rumors circulating that Rian Johnson had abandoned the Star Wars franchise, Johnson himself chimed in on Twitter to confirm the rumors are false, according to Screen Rant.
