How Spider-Vers Gave Us a Doc Ock for Modern Times
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse found success by simultaneously being a love letter to and a fresh new take on Spider-Man's mythology. Although virtually every character featured is based on somebody from the comics, the story and world presented in the film isn't a precise adaptation of any pre-existing interpretation. This approach gave way to the film's boldest deviation from the canon: Olivia Octavius, the new Doctor Octopus. But the film's version of the perennial Spider-Man nemesis goes beyond being only a genderflip; Doctor Octopus has been reinvented here as a modernized, rational character who is obsessed purely with her scientific achievements, refocusing the character on being a mad scientist as opposed to the catch-all supervillain with vague definition that he has been for half a century in the comics.

MCU’s First Three Phases Will Be Called the Infinity Saga
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has revealed that the first three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will collectively be known as The Infinity Saga.
While the MCU has so far been divided into phases, each ending with a major Avengers team-up movie, it has been clear for the majority of film series’ run that everything has been building towards a final chapter. Feige emphasises this in an interview featured in the latest issue of Empire, where he discusses creating the conclusion to over a decade’s worth of filmmaking.
"We wanted to bring to a conclusion a series of movies in a way that had never been done before,” Feige says regarding the decision to use the Infinity Saga title. “Harry Potter had an ending because there were only so many books. Lord of the Rings too. But we thought, 22 movies in, wouldn't it be fun to bring some finality to the storyline."

Avengers: Endgame Directors Admit Trailers Use Footage Not in the Movie
Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo have discussed how they use footage that doesn't make it into the final cut of their films in their trailers as to "preserve the surprise of the narrative."
Via ComingSoon.net, the Russo brothers were recently interviewed by Empire Magazine and talked about how important it was to them that they "keep the film's marketing department from spoiling the surprises."
“We talked about all scales of marketing,” said Joe Russo. “The thing that’s most important to us is that we preserve the surprise of the narrative. When I was a kid and saw The Empire Strikes Back at 11am on the day it opened…It so profoundly moved me because I didn’t know a damn thing about the story I was going to watch. We’re trying to replicate that experience.”

Halo: The Master Chief Collection Likely Won’t Be a Play Anywhere Game
It appears that despite the recent news of Halo: The Master Chief Collection coming to PC, it doesn't look like the title will be a Play Anywhere Game.
During a live stream of the Halo Champion Series Invitational, Microsoft's corporate vice president and head of 343 industries, Bonnie Ross, made a comment that seemed to dash hopes of The Master Chief Collection coming to the Play Anywhere lineup.
"While MCC shipped before the XPA Play Anywhere, we are exploring ways to make sure that we show our appreciation and recognition for the support we've had from the amazing fans of MCC and we'll have more to announce as we get closer to launch." said Ross on the subject of Play Anywhere games.

Sega Genesis Almost Had an Alien vs. Predator Football Game
It appears an American football video game featuring Aliens, Predators and the ol’ pigskin called Cosmic Hard Bowl was at one point planned for the Sega Genesis, though many details surrounding the alleged game remain unknown.
Revealed by the National Videogame Museum located in Frisco, Texas, promotional concept art was allegedly unearthed for this bizarre mash-up. The promotional materials are largely in Japanese, though one image featuring a hand drawn alien wearing a football jersey includes the caption “So you want a Genesis game with real impact?" Luckily, a translation of the remaining Japanese text was provided by a Mitch Mitchell.
Nvidia Brings Ray Tracing to Pascal GPUs along with Unity, Unreal Engines
In advance of the 2019 Game Developers Conference (GDC) Nvidia made a few big announcements about what the roadmap looks like for its much-hyped real-time ray tracing technology. First it was announced that it will be bringing the technology to both the Unity and Unreal engines, which is quite promising for next-gen titles. Unity partnered with BMW to show off its new technology in a demo called "Reality vs. Illusion" that depicts a 2018 BMW 8 Series coup rendered in realtime in Unity side-by-side with real footage of a real car. You can watch the short video below and try to guess which is real and which is Unity:
Answer: the right side is the Unity engine. Unity also send along a handful of renders of the car so you could get a closer look at the level of fidelity involved. It's quite incredible, but then again, we all want to see it in motion, and sadly the video demos the company sent along are all incredibly short. As we went to press it sent a longer clip, and you can watch it right here.
