What Jordan Peele’s Twilight Zone Needs to Do to Match the Classic Show

As we approach Jordan Peele's The Twilight Zone reboot, a couple of inevitable questions come up: What made the show so special in its original run, and what do Peele and his team need to do to recapture the spirit of Rod Serling's opus without just copying it?

There's a lot to be excited about regarding the new Twilight Zone. With his brand new hit Us, 2017’s Get Out, and even some of the stranger Key & Peele skits, Peele has proven that he has the kind of incisive mind that can look at social situations and pick out what makes them weird and potentially uncomfortable. This is exactly the kind of talent you need to revisit TV’s classic creepshow for the thinking man.

When The Twilight Zone premiered, the television landscape was a very different place. Generally speaking, primetime television wasn't meant to make neurons fire. It was visual comfort food as far as the eye could see - sensible chuckles and mild anxiety that would be resolved in no longer than 23 or 50 minutes, plus commercials. Then comes The Twilight Zone, a show that had people shivering and, 60 year later, still has the capacity to leave the viewer uneasy.

Apple Arcade Looks Great, But it Probably Can’t Save Mobile Gaming

The mobile gaming industry is in a tough spot. As free-to-play games have overtaken their premium brethren, the design of those games has changed—and not necessarily for the better.  The newly announced Apple Arcade aims to improve iOS’ gaming ecosystem by providing a paid subscription service filled with quality, premium, offline games. But will it work?

When game developers discovered that free-to-play games—laden with enticing microtransactions—made more money than pay-once premium games, the industry started to shift. Now, most of the big-budget games in the App Store are free to play, but are excessively grind-y or limiting, encouraging you to buy in-app purchases that make it faster to progress. This doesn’t exactly make for a fun, engaging experience, but if a developer can get even a small number of players to shell out large amounts of cash, they can make more money than they did with the $5 premium games of yore.

Anime Coming to Netflix in 2019

Over the last few months, it seems like Netflix is on a mission, making multiple announcements about new additions to their anime library from Netflix Originals to classic shows. Blood & Truth Release Date Revealed for PlayStation VR

Sony has announced during its State of Play that Blood & Truth, the upcoming title by SIE London Studio, will arrive on PlayStation VR on May 28, 2019.
