Gwent Announced for Smartphones
Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is coming to iPhones later this year, with an Android release to follow "at a later date."
“We’ve been preparing long and hard to adapt Gwent to smartphones,” said GWENT game director, Jason Slama. “Beautiful visuals aside, we’ve tailored much of our technology, including GOG Galaxy which powers Gwent’s multiplayer, to support mobile devices.
"I think our vision for bringing Gwent to smartphones combines the best we have to offer both in terms of graphics and gameplay. I can’t wait to share more details on the subject with you later this year.”
Gwent's single-player campaign launched as a standalone game last December, while the first card expansion, Crimson Curse, announced earlier this month, will be dropping tomorrow.
Game of Thrones Showrunners Reveal The Night King’s True Motivation
Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have spilled the beans on what's driving the Night King as he descends upon Westeros with his undead army.
"I don’t think of him as evil, I think of him as Death,” Benioff told EW. “And that’s what he wants — for all of us. It’s why he was created and that’s what he’s after.”
That should bring some (very) small comfort to Jon Snow, who has been pegged as a specific target of the Night King by the character's actor, Vladmir Furdik.

6 Things Detective Pikachu Is Already Doing Right
Call me crazy, but I think 2019 might be the year we get the first good video game movie -- And yes, Mortal Kombat is a wacky, stupid, fun time that I’ve adored since I was eight, seen dozens of times, and own on blu-ray, but if you unironically think it’s a genuinely good movie, please please watch more movies.
But now, we’re just months away from Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, and it looks way better than it has any right to… Could this be the first good video game movie? Here are six choices that might keep this furry flick from being big screen shovelware.
1. A Pikachu, Not THE Pikachu
Detective Pikachu is A Pikachu, but he’s not THE Pikachu, the one that’s been hanging out with Ash Ketchum for over a thousand episodes of the cartoon show, and he’s not even the same Detective Pikachu from the 3DS game released last year who sounded like Danny DeVito, as funny as that would’ve been.

New Anthem Update Includes Legendary Missions, Elysian Caches
BioWare released Update 1.0.4 for Anthem today, adding Legendary Missions, Elysian Caches, loot changes and more.
The full patch notes, which can be found here, detail Legendary Missions, which allow players to replay critical path missions at a much higher difficulty. One mission will be available per day with no limit on the number of times it can be completed.
Players can access Elysian Caches using Elysian keys, which are earned by completing daily challenges. The caches appear at the end of each Stronghold after the boss and they unlock vanity and crafting materials - each cache will create loot for every player in the expedition. BioWare says there are 67 unique vanity unlocks which include vinys, victory poses, emotes and arrivals, all without any duplicates. However, the caches definitely won’t contain new armor.
Birds of Prey Movie’s Victor Zsasz Explained
One of the next big DC movies hitting theaters is Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), an ensemble superhero adventure featuring an unlikely alliance between Harley Quinn, Black Canary, Huntress and Cassandra Cain. This new team will find themselves going up against at least two major Batman villains - Black Mask and Victor Zsasz.
We've already taken a closer look at Black Mask and his role in Gotham City's underworld, as well as the Birds of Prey themselves. But what about Victor Zsasz? The villain will be played by Chris Messina in the upcoming film, so here's everything you need to know about this homicidal maniac and why he just won't stop killing.

New Mutants: Maisie Williams Doesn’t Know ‘What the F*** Is Going On’
Maisie Williams has some choice words about The New Mutants film that remains in limbo.
In a piece by Rolling Stone that focuses on Williams and fellow Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, Williams discussed the X-Men spinoff film and its status following Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox.
“Who knows when the f**k that’s gonna come out,” said Williams, who stars in the film as Wolfsbane. “Hopefully this interview will make everyone hurry up a little bit!”
