Rainbow Six Siege Event Transforms Plane into a Rainbow Magic Land

Ubisoft has given Rainbow Six Siege a colourful makeover, transforming the classic Plane map into a Toy Story-style world with neon-bright characters and child-friendly wallpaper.

The Rainbow is Magic mode runs for seven days, and introduces a new version of the Hostage game type with a completely re-skinned Plane map. The toy theme of the map sees everything shrunk down to action figure size, with the airport environment typically surrounding the plane replaced by a child’s bedroom, complete with toy cars.

Inside the plane, walls look closer to Lego blocks than metal bulkheads, and breakable surfaces are adorned with cute wallpaper designs. The hostage is dressed in a teddy bear costume, while the Rainbow operators themselves now look like toy soldiers.

For Honor Replaces Warriors With Rabbids for 24 Hours

Ubisoft has added gangs of armoured Rabbids to For Honor for a 24 hour limited-time event.

The hyper-active, buck-toothed creatures are pretty much Ubisoft’s mascot, and they will be acting as enemies and storming the gates in For Honor until 9pm PT / midnight ET / 5am UK / 2pm AEST. You’ve not got long to get involved, but anyone who does will get a melee pack reward.

While the event is clearly themed around April Fools, it is completely playable and not a joke in any form other than the fact that it’s absolutely bananas. There are plenty of fake April Fools jokes out there today, though, so keep your eyes peeled.

Valve Teases New Valve Index VR Headset for May

Valve has added a new VR headset to the Steam store. Called the Valve Index, the store page shows no more than an image of the headset and the words “Upgrade your experience. May 2019”.

Such words suggest we’ll learn more next month, but there is a certain amount that can be gleaned from the image itself. Notable is the slider on the left-hand side, which appears to be an Interpupillary Distance slider. This physically adjusts the distance between the lenses in order to account for the distance between a users eyes. The inclusion of one is important, as the upcoming Oculus Rift S features fixed lenses with software-based adjustment, despite the original Rift headset having adjustable ones.
