DC Revives Gerard Way’s Doom Patrol This Summer

Doom Patrol fans have even more reason to be happy in 2019. Even as the recent live-action series makes a strong case for subscribing to DC Universe, the franchise is also making its return to the comic book realm. Today DC Comics revealed that Gerard Way and Nick Derington's Doom Patrol series is returning as part of a larger relaunch of the Young Animal imprint.

The new incarnation of Young Animal will again be curated by Way and will hinge on three books. Doom Patrol: Weight of the Worlds will pick up where the previous volume of the series and the Milk Wars crossover left off in 2018. Way will be joined by co-writer Jeremy Lambert. Derington will only be providing cover art this time. Instead, the series will feature a revolving lineup of artists that includes James Harvey, Doc Shaner, Nick Pitarra and Becky Cloonan.

Sea of Thieves’ Anniversary Update Turns the Game Into Two Very Different Experiences

The executive producer for Sea of Thieves has just called me a “motherf**ker”. I can't stop laughing. I didn’t expect this when I arrived at Rare this morning. To be honest, I didn’t really expect that kind of reaction to ever emerge from a session in Sea of Thieves. Despite its piratical set-up, and the built-in opportunity for meanness that allows for, Sea of Thieves has always struck me as an almost uniquely friendly shared open world.

We all know how Sea of Thieves started out. Around release, I grew fond of calling it “the world’s nicest chatroom” - a place where I hung out with my friends while doing a few odd jobs, rather than undertaking grand quests (mainly because it didn’t feel like those quests were really there). It wasn’t what I could achieve in that world that drew me in, rather just the pleasantness of being there.

The Insider’s Guide to Mario Maker’s Secret Language

When Super Mario Maker released on the Wii U in 2015, many fans joked that Nintendo never needed to make another 2D Mario again - that the fans would ecstatically make the next generation of 2D Mario for them.

While it is interesting to imagine a large developer letting its community take the reins on a major franchise, in Mario Maker that wasn’t necessarily the case. With the blocks finally in their own hands, Mario fans didn’t want to create traditional levels, and instead proceeded to create eclectic and amazing new challenges that Nintendo never envisioned (or did, and deemed too frightening for the average player.)

Poll Results – Who Will Die in Avengers: Endgame?

With Avengers: Endgame almost upon us, one of the biggest questions looming over the superhero epic is… which hero is going to die? After all, the filmmakers have said that Endgame will be a literal ending for some characters, and depending on how you read into that, it could mean certain death for one (or more) of the Avengers.

So as we endure the agonizing wait for the film to finally release, we’re killing time (ha) by getting everyone to weigh in on who they think will die. We polled the IGN community both on the site and on social media, and had our entire staff weigh in, as well. The parameters of the poll allowed for one of the 16 characters with an “alive” Endgame character poster to be selected as the one person who is most likely to die. As in, permanently dead, six feet under, no resurrections, by the conclusion of Endgame (and they're still dead after any credits scenes!).
