Now THIS Is the Best Charizard Card Ever Made

While Charizard cards will always have a special place in the hearts of Pokemon fans everywhere, they usually disappoint when it comes to the actual Pokemon Trading Card Game. They typically do a lot of damage but are far too slow and costly to consistently attack. Things started to change for the fiery lizard back in February when a fast and efficient Charizard card came out, sparking a bit of hope for fans of the Fire-type Kanto starter. However, even though it was the best Charizard the game had ever seen, it barely saw any competitive use. It seemed like Charizard was never going to get a competitively viable card… until this month’s Sun and Moon: Unbroken Bonds expansion set released what is not only the best Charizard card ever printed but one of the best cards in the game, period.

Starz’s Supernatural Thriller The Rook Sets Premiere Date

IGN can exclusively reveal the first official key art and premiere date for Starz's upcoming supernatural spy thriller, The Rook. The series is set to debut on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 8 p.m. ET/PT in the US and Canada, then on the STARZPLAY platform in Germany and Spain.

Based on the Daniel O'Malley novel of the same name, “The Rook is a supernatural spy thriller which tells the story of Myfanwy Thomas, a woman who wakes up in the rain beside London’s Millennium Bridge with no memory of who she is and no way to explain the circle of latex-gloved dead bodies splayed around her. When Myfanwy discovers she is a high ranking official in the Checquy, Britain’s last truly secret service for people with paranormal abilities, she will have to navigate the dangerous and complex world of the agency to uncover who wiped her memory - and why she is a target," according to a synopsis from Starz.

Persona 5 Royal’s Additions Are ‘Beyond’ Persona 4 Golden’s

Persona 5’s expanded re-release, Royal, will include an extra semester of gameplay that goes “beyond the expectations of those who have experienced the volume of Persona 4 Golden.”

The comment comes from the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu (via Gematsu), which features an interview with the game’s producer Kazuhisa Wada, and director Daiki Itoh. Itoh previously directed Persona 4: Golden, and so has experience on developing expanded re-releases of Persona games.

The latest issue of Famitsu also explains the new Play Assist feature, which calculates your social interactions and confidant levels and automatically suggests people and places you should visit next. This should help players min/max their characters with more efficiency.

Borderlands 3 Fan Thinks They’ve Figured Out Level Scaling

A fan has analysed the stats shown in Borderlands 3’s gameplay reveal and come up with a theory as to how the game’s level scaling will work.

Over on the Borderlands subreddit, user SirArkhon posted a compelling breakdown of what they’ve learned from the small amount of footage revealed so far.

“From what I can tell, HP in Borderlands 3 is given by a formula of HP = 80 x 1.09^Level and dropping any decimal remainder,” they wrote. “Every data point I've found fits this curve. From this formula, we can extrapolate a theoretical max HP at level 72 of 39,609; this is over an order of magnitude smaller than BL2's baseline max of 530,564.”

Scalebound Dev Laments Microsoft Taking ‘Brunt’ of Blame for Cancellation

When Microsoft confirmed Scalebound's cancellation back in January 2017, fans of the would-be franchise were understandably upset the series wouldn't see the light of day. But developer PlatinumGames' studio head noted fans' ire should be directed not just at Microsoft.

Speaking to Video Games Chronicles, PlatinumGames studio head Atsushi Inaba discussed Scalebound's cancellation, nothing “both

failed” when it came to the project.

“I think there are areas where we could’ve done better and I’m sure there are areas that Microsoft as a publishing partner wish that they could’ve done better. Because nobody wants a game to be canceled,” Inaba said.
