Bethesda Investigating Plagiarism Allegations From D&D Authors

Bethesda has announced that they're investigating claims of plagiarism related to a marketing initiative for the upcoming ESO expansion Elsweyr.

In an effort to promote the new Elder Scrolls Online update, Bethesda's Netherlands studio published an unnamed ESO-themed tabletop RPG adventure based on the rules for the fifth edition of Wizards of the Coast's Dungeons & Dragons. However, it was more than just some basic rules that the studio appeared to copy - it was almost an entire adventure from 2016.

Why We Think HBO’s Watchmen Is a Sequel

HBO has finally debuted the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Watchmen series. Showrunner Damon Lindelof has often described this series as a "remix" of the original Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons comic, making it unclear if the series is meant to be a continuation of that story or a complete reboot and re-imagining. The new trailer seems to answer some of the biggest questions fans have about the series, while also confirming the return of one major Watchmen character.

GoT’s Davos Answers Our Burning Series Finale Questions

With only two weeks to go in HBO's Game of Thrones, it's anyone's guess who will end up on the Iron Throne -- and according to star Liam Cunningham, that's exactly where the showrunners want viewers.

During a recent interview to promote Cunningham's role in the new NatGeo series The Hot Zone, IGN spoke with the man behind Davos Seaworth to pry as much information as we could get about the Game of Thrones series finale out of him, while also reflecting on several surprising developments from recent episodes. Unsurprisingly, this interview contains spoilers for Game of Thrones through episode 4, "The Last of the Starks."

The Riot Walkout: What They Hope to Achieve, and Why It’s Important

Earlier this week, somewhere between 200 and 250 employees of Riot Games, the studio behind the popular League of Legends, staged a walkout at their Los Angeles campus to protest their company’s use of forced arbitration clauses in ongoing disputes with employees over claims of discrimination and sexual harassment.

Protesting Forced Arbitration (the practice of contractually preventing employees from filing lawsuits in the event of a dispute) may seem highly specific, but this week's demonstration speaks to the Rioters’ broader goals for their workplace culture as well as continuing to call attention to the ongoing conversation around workplace environments in the games industry at large.

In Defense of God Hand

Action games are my lifeblood. They’re hands down my favorite genre in video games, and I can’t tell you how happy I am at this current resurgence of the genre with games like 2018’s God of War and Devil May Cry 5 leading the charge.

As an action game fan though, there’s one game that I’ve always wanted to gush about that has always seemed like a bit of a taboo, and I feel like it’s time we cleared the air.

So… hi, my name is Mitchell Saltzman, I work at IGN, and I’d like to say that God Hand, a game that IGN dubbed “awful” 13 years ago, is, in my opinion, not just good, it’s actually AMAZING.

THE MCU Graveyard: Every (Really) Dead Marvel Movie Character

Full spoilers ahead for every single movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

With Avengers: Endgame killing off some of the biggest names in the MCU — and resurrecting a host of others — it’s time to take stock of every character who is seriously and truly dead in the current timeline. (Because, yeah, branch timelines and multiverses are a thing now.)

Let’s roll all the way back to the very first movie in the MCU, 2008’s Iron Man, to start our accounting of dead characters.

Mind you, we’re leaving out cannon fodder background characters like the armies of Asgard and the Chitauri to focus on the most notable leading and supporting players seen throughout the Infinity Saga, starting all the way back with ...
