Red Dead Online Gets Its Biggest Update Yet

Rockstar released today the largest update for Red Dead Online since the online component of Red Dead Redemption 2 launched in late November.

The announcement came in a post on their Newswire, along with a trailer and a handful of new screenshots.

The latest Red Dead Online update boasts a slew of new content, including:

Moss: Free Expansion Adds Twilight Garden Chapter

Moss, the 2018 VR adventure game featuring a young mouse named Quill, will receive a free expansion that adds extra story, puzzles, combat and more.

This new content will be released alongside the launch of Oculus Quest on May 21, and will make its way to other VR platforms including PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift/S, HTC Vive and Windows MR via an update in June.

New content will be woven throughout the existing game as portals to the “strange and vibrant” Twilight Garden. Described as a new chapter of gameplay, the Twilight Garden exists as a complimentary experience to the main game that introduces additional environments, challenges and story. The Twilight Garden will test players in new ways as a “mysterious presence prepares you for the dangers ahead.” New content in the Twilight Garden includes vast chambers, unique weaponry, new puzzles and enemies.

HP Debuts a Dual-Display Gaming Laptop and Other Gear

HP and its Omen gaming brand have pulled the wraps off some swanky new PC gaming hardware just in time for Computex and E3 2019, and it includes a pretty novel laptop with dual displays. Overall HP's announcement runs the gamut and includes new gaming laptops, mice, mousepads, monitors, and even apparel. For us though, the laptop is the real star of the show.

Dubbed the Omen X 2S, this 15-inch laptop has a standard 144Hz 1080p panel and a secondary 6-inch 1080p display with touch capability directly below it. According to HP, it can be used for a variety of functions including watching YouTube, running apps or a web browser, showing system vitals, watching a Twitch stream, and even turning into a virtual number pad. It also has the ability to mirror any part of the screen, so you could put your mini map on there if you wanted. It's a pretty novel concept but we certainly question the utility of it since you'd have to take your eyes off the screen to view its contents. Still, it's interesting, and we can't wait to check it out for ourselves, hopefully soon.

Game of Thrones said goodbye to the Master of Whispers in Episode 5 (read our review of "The Bells") when Daenerys “Mad Queen” Targaryen commanded Drogon to flambé Varys for his betrayal. But what has people talking is what Varys was up to moments before his death, specifically the curious way he removed his rings before being taken prisoner by the Unsullied.

Fifth Purge Movie to Release Summer 2020

Universal Pictures announced the fifth film in The Purge franchise will be released on July 10, 2020.

Reported by Deadline, James DeMonaco, series creator, writer, and director of the first three films, will return to write the film’s script. Jason Blum, DeMonaco and Sébastien K. Lemercier have been set as producers for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes. The film’s director will be announced at a later date.

In an October 2018 interview with EW, DeMonaco discussed a fifth entry in his Purge series, which he believes will be the last, saying  “I have it in my head. I think I’m going to write it. I think it’s a great way to end it all. We want to end it all, I think, in this one, and I’m very excited. When I came up with the idea and pitched it to everybody, they seemed psyched, and I think it will be a really cool ending, how we take this one home.”
