Sony Exploring PS5 Cross-Gen Play Thanks to PS4 Backward Compatibility
Sony suggested it’s exploring PlayStation 5 cross-gen play with PlayStation 4 thanks to backward compatibility in its next-generation console.
During a Sony Investor Relations Day 2019 Q&A session, PlayStation heads indicated PS5 could include cross-gen play with PS4 players through the PS5’s backward compatibility features, suggesting people playing PS4 games on their PS5 would still be able to play online with others who are using a PS4, or potentially even play cross-gen titles across these systems.
Deputy president of Sony Interactive Entertainment John Kodera said through a translator, “Having compatibility is a positive thing. Not only can a game be played on the next-generation console, cross-generation – the community can enjoy the games together... bridging that compatibility has a very important role to play.”

Christopher Nolan Begins Filming New Espionage Action Movie, Tenet
Christopher Nolan's next film, Tenet, has begun filming ahead of its scheduled release on July 17, 2020.
Filmed across seven countries, Tenet's ensemble cast is led by BlacKkKlansman's John David Washington and is said to be an "action epic evolving from the world of international espionage."
Joining Washington will be Robert Pattinson - who is reportedly a frontrunner to be the next Batman, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy, Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh.
How JJ Abrams Is Approaching The Rise of Skywalker Differently
In an exclusive feature with Vanity Fair, director J.J. Abrams shared his insights into filming the final episode in the nine-film saga, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
"Working on nine, I found myself approaching it slightly differently," Abrams said. "Which is to say that, on seven, I felt beholden to Star Wars in a way that was interesting—I was doing what to the best of my ability I felt Star Wars should be."
Abrams explained that he found himself changing his own directing style and the story itself, and how episode nine was more about him telling the story that felt right.
"It felt slightly more renegade; it felt slightly more like, you know, Fuck it, I’m going to do the thing that feels right because it does, not because it adheres to something."
Fortnite’s Next Crossover Features Nike Air Jordans
Joining the growing list of Fortnite crossovers is Fortnite X Jumpman for Creative: a new set of cosmetics and a Limited Time Mode (LTM) centering around Nike Air Jordans.
Announced by Epic Games, Fortnite X Jumpman is available now and features the Downtown Drop LTM by Jordan featuring creative artists NotNellaf & Tollmolia. In this, players launch off jumps, grind down the city streets and collect coins to win in a decidedly more skateboard-centric than basketball-centric mode. Players can complete free challenges and unlock the Back Board Back Bling (skate boards that are affixed to your character’s back) and its nine style variants.
George R.R. Martin Plans to Finish The Winds of Winter By 2020
George R.R. Martin is hopeful that he will finish The Winds of Winter, the sixth novel in his A Song of Ice and Fire series, by the middle of 2020.
Martin posted an update on his Not a Blog site, saying that he will be appearing as Toastmaster for the Hugo Awards at the World Science Fiction Convention in Wellington, New Zealand which runs from July 29, 2020 - August 2, 2020.

New to Netflix for June
