Are The Russo Bros Teasing a Community Movie Reveal at Comic-Con?

The Russo brothers, directors of Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and the latter two Captain America films, may be teasing the reveal of a Community movie for Comic-Con 2019.

On Friday, as reported by TV Guide, from their official Twitter account, the Russo brothers posted a short audio clip of the Biblioteca Spanish rap from season one, episode two of NBC’s Community, as performed by actors Donald Glover and Danny Pudi. The text “11:00 AM” accompanied the audio, suggesting the Russo brothers may reveal more at a later date. The time also lines up with their Comic-Con 2019 panel “A Conversation With the Russos Brothers.”

Spider-Man 4: Sam Raimi Is Still Haunted By His Unmade Marvel Movie

Sam Raimi’s unproduced Spider-Man 4 film is the stuff of superhero movie legend. Now, 12 years after leaving Spider-Man behind, the director gave a rare shout out to the Spider-Man movie that never was.

Known for cult hits like The Evil Dead, Sam Raimi helped usher in the modern superhero craze with his Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. Raimi is currently promoting the new crocodile thriller Crawl which he produced. But while speaking with Yahoo the director shared some regrets about the fourth Spider-Man movie he was never able to make.

Space Invaders Movie Reportedly Hires Mortal Kombat Reboot Writer

The long-gestating live-action Space Invaders movie has reportedly hired the screenwriter behind several other in-development video game movies to finally bring it to the big screen.

According to TheWrap,New Line Cinema and producer Akiva Goldsman have brought on Greg Russo to script the sci-fi film. Russo is the writer of the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie reboot as well as the Saints Row movie and the revamp of the Resident Evil film franchise.

John Carpenter Co-Writing Joker Comic for DC

DC Comics has announced a new one-shot comic called The Joker: Year of the Villain #1. Not only will this special shine a spotlight on the Clown Prince of Crime, it'll be co-written by none other than horror legend John Carpenter.

Carpenter is co-writing the issue with Anthony Burch, with whom he previously collaborated on BOOM! Studios' Big Trouble in Little China: Old Man Jack comic. This issue will feature art from Philip Tan and Marc Deering. Check out the cover below:

Gears 5 Removes Smoking After Speaking With Anti-Tobacco Group

The Coalition has apparently turned on the no smoking sign in Gears 5, as it has been revealed that all references to tobacco will be scrubbed from the upcoming shooter.

Variety reports that Gears 5 developer The Coalition has consciously made the decision to remove smoking references from the shooter after discussing it with the anti-tobacco organization, Truth Initiative.

Truth originally reached out to Turner regarding concerns about the depiction of smoking in Gears 5. Turner is partnered with the esports organization ELeague, which also happens to have the broadcasting rights to the Gears 5 esports tournament.

Sure, Rune did Norse mythology 19 years ago, long before God of War came (back) around and won almost every Game of the Year award on the planet last year. But look, there’s just no planet on which Rune 2 won’t get compared to God of War on some level, as both are third-person Norse mythology action games. And it’s tough for any game to stand next to Sony Santa Monica’s masterpiece, Rune 2 included.

As such, your interest in Rune 2 is likely to hinge on what it does differently. And aside from being more of a survival-action game than an action-adventure, that primary different thing is dismemberment. It’s not just for show; it’s a gameplay element. You can lop the arms, legs, and heads off of the fantastical bad guys and, even better, use those displaced body parts as weapons to beat (or throw at) your enemies with.

Inhumans Movie Once Set for Today, Social Media Laughs

Believe it or not, a Marvel Studios movie was supposed to come out today. At least, according to Marvel's Phase 3 slate revealed by MCU mastermind Kevin Feige years ago that featured The Inhumans. The Marvel film that never was initially sported a November 2, 2018 release date, but four months later along came a Spider-Man movie deal between Sony and Marvel that saw Marvel change several release dates and the Inhumans movie moved to July 12, 2019. The movie was originally going to come out after what was once called "Avengers: Infinity War - Part II," which later became Avengers: Endgame. But plans changed and Inhumans was instead adapted to a TV show on ABC -- one that bombed and was canceled after a single season.

Marvel’s Sinister Syndicate Gets a New Lineup

The newest chapter of The Amazing Spider-Man reintroduces a classic supervillain team with a new twist.

Even as this new issue focuses on the mysterious, shrouded villain known as Kindred, it also sets the stage for a new version of the Sinister Syndicate. Following a failed attempt to kidnap actress Melanie Daniels and crowdfund her ransom, current Electro Francine Frye is recruited as the final member of the team. The big twist this time is an all-female supervillain lineup.
