New Marvel Superhero Series Reportedly in Development at ABC

Marvel and ABC are reportedly in "active talks" to develop a new TV series centred on female superheroes.

"I have spoken to Marvel and we are in active talks about one project in particular," ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke told Deadline.

ABC aims to have at least one Marvel property on its network at "any given time", and this series would fit in with its strategy of bringing a female-led group of superheroes to the screen, apparently focusing on a central character that would be "something brand new, mostly."

While Burke remained tight-lipped on the finer details, the outlet reports that this project is completely separate from the hour-long TV drama about female characters with superpowers that Wonder Woman writer Allan Heinberg was developing for the network last year.

The Best Refurbished Phone Deals in August: Compare Cheap Contracts

Mobile phones can cost a pretty penny, with plenty of modern devices pushing the £1000 mark. However, buying a smartphone doesn't always mean spending an excessively high amount for a device.

There are plenty of great mobile phone deals, but, if you're looking for something even cheaper, you should consider buying refurbished.

Refurbished phones do tend to get a negative reception, but this shouldn't be the case. There's nothing to worry about when you invest cash in a more budget friendly device, including refurbished iPhones. Getting a refurbished mobile deal no longer means getting a scratched device or a dodgy repair, you can now pick up a great deal on a phone that is legitimately as good as new.

Every Country Has Video Games, Only One Has A Mass Shooter Problem

In science, you form a hypothesis to explain an event and then test it against the available evidence to see if your logic is sound; if it’s not, the hypothesis fails and you discard it and form another one to attempt to explain what’s happening. The hypothesis being put forward by several politicians, including President Trump, is that video games – in concert with mental health issues – contribute to the recent rise in mass shooting incidents in the United States, specifically with regard to the shootings in Gilroy, California, Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas that collectively claimed 34 lives and left 66 more wounded in the span of less than a week. But even a quick look at the rest of the world disproves this hypothesis so quickly and obviously that it’s hard to believe it was even suggested with sincerity.

Epic Denounces Harassment in Wake of Epic Store Controversy

Epic Games has formally denounced the “harassment of partners, promotion of hateful themes, and intimidation of those with opposing views,” following a deluge of “thousands, if not tens of thousands of hateful, threatening messages” sent to the developer of Ooblets, the colorful creature-collecting game.

In a blog post published on July 31, Ben Wasser, one of only two developers on Ooblets, announced that studio Glumberland had signed a PC launch exclusivity deal with the Epic Games Store. Ooblets is just the latest in a string of exclusivity deals announced since the Epic Game Store's inception.

Gemma Chan in Talks to Join Marvel’s The Eternals

Gemma Chan and Barry Keoghan may soon be the latest Hollywood stars to join the cast of Marvel's The Eternals. Variety reports the Crazy Rich Asians star is currently in talks to join the cast, while Collider reports that Keoghan (Dunkirk, Chernobyl) is also in talks.

Chan made her MCU debut earlier this year, playing Kree villain Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel. Interestingly, it doesn't sound as though Chan will be reprising that role in The Eternals. Variety notes that some sources are indicating she'll be playing "a completely different role."

Who Is Gorr, the Rumored Villain of Thor 4?

The Avengers may be no more (for now, anyway), but Thor himself still has a big part to play in the future of the MCU. Phase 4 will culminate in November 2021 with the release of Thor: Love and Thunder. Not only will this sequel reunite Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson with director Taika Waititi, but it'll also bring back Natalie Portman's Jane Foster as the new goddess of thunder.

Currently, Thor, Valkyrie and Jane Foster are the only three characters confirmed for the sequel. However, rumors point to Gorr the God Butcher as the next major threat to Asgard. Read on for a full breakdown of Gorr's background and role in the Thor franchise, as well as a few alternate candidates who could appear in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Every Arrow Season 8 Episode Will Be ‘An Event’ Leading Up to Crisis

Arrow fans can expect a much different approach to the show's eighth and final season. According to star Stephen Amell, each and every episode will serve as "an event" as the show ties up loose ends and paves the way for the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.

Amell teased this drastically different approach while talking to reporters at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.

"I think that the show, as people have understood it and its structure I think it ended in our Season 7 finale," said Amell. "This year is fundamentally different. The episodes are events. And, to me, the show, as we constructed it, ended when Emily

left."

As Amell describes it, each episode is intended to wrap up a specific element of Arrow's mythology leading up to Crisis and the series finale. "Every episode this year feels like we’re trying to try to put a button on a certain part of the show. And I’ve got a chance to work with actors and characters thus far that I haven’t had a chance to work with in a bunch of years."
