D23: Disney Fans Cosplay as Spider-Man to Protest Sony/Marvel Split
Disney fans were out in full force at D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, with attendees showing their love for all of the studio's biggest franchises with elaborate cosplay creations - highlighting their favorites from across the Marvel universe all the way back to animated classics like The Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty.
And following this week's public split between Marvel and Sony, which will see Spider-Man left out of the MCU for the foreseeable future, a number of fans broke out their best spandex in solidarity with the wallcrawler.

The Mandalorian: 12 New Images From the Disney+ Star Wars Series
At the Disney+ panel at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, executive producers John Favreau and Dave Filoni unveiled the first trailer for their upcoming Star Wars live-action series, The Mandalorian.
We have 12 exciting new images from the trailer featuring series stars Pedro Pascal as The Mandalorian, Gina Carano as Cara Dune, Carl Weathers as Greef, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, and Taika Waititi as the voice of IG-11. Check out the images in the gallery below:

Jon Favreau ‘Cautiously Optimistic’ Spider-Man Will Return to MCU After Disney/Sony Split
Disney regular Jon Favreau has weighed in on Disney and Sony reportedly ending their deal to share Spider-Man, offering a bit of hope that it may all work out.
"After all that time, it took 10 years for him to get to a good relationship!" Favreau joked to ET during an interview at Disney’s D23 Expo before addressing the Spidey split directly. "It's still early days. As a fan,
cautiously hopeful that something will come together, because I think all the fans wanna see those characters together. I don't mean Happy and May, I mean Spidey with the MCU."
New Spider-Man Animated Series to Debut in 2021
A new animated Spider-Man television series -- Marvel's Spidey and His Amazing Friends -- was announced at D23 Expo on Friday. The show will premiere on Disney Junior in 2021.
The official plot synopsis follows: "Our favorite neighborhood web-slinger is used to working solo, but now Peter Parker must discover what it takes to become a truly amazing super hero: being a spider friend who works well with others.
Together with his friends Miles Morales and Gwen AKA Ghost-Spider, they will team up with heroes such as Hulk, Black Panther and Ms. Marvel, to defeat evil foes and learn that teamwork is the best way to save the day."

The first trailer for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has debuted at D23, and despite how complicated the title is, the show looks pretty charming.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is created and executive produced by Tim Federle ("Ferdinand"), and will premiere when Disney+ launches on November 12.
The series - based on the blockbuster Disney Channel Original Movie franchise that launched the careers of Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens - "follows the East High drama club as they work their way to opening night of their school's first-ever production of High School Musical. Show-mances blossom, old friendships are tested while new ones are made, rivalries flare, and lives are changed forever as these young people discover the transformative power that only high school theater can provide."
The Mandalorian Debuts First Trailer at D23
At D23 Expo, Disney+ revealed the first trailer for The Mandalorian, which has a release date of November 12, the day the streaming service launches.

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal as the titular bounty hunter; Gina Carano as Cara Dune, a former Rebel Alliance shock trooper who can handle herself in a fight; and Carl Weathers as Greef, an enigmatic figure who hires bounty hunters and dispatches them on jobs across the galaxy. Other cast members include Werner Herzog, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, and Taika Waititi, who also directed an episode.

Lizzie McGuire Sequel Series
Hillary Duff appeared on stage at D23 Expo to confirm she is returning as her iconic Disney Channel character Lizzie McGuire for a sequel series. It will focus on Duff-as=McGuire as the character is now 30 and living in New York. The animated Lizzie, who offered asides throughout the show, will return to commentate on modern-day Lizzie's life as she works as the apprentice to a decorator. The show will also see the return of Lizzie McGuire' original creator Terri Minsky.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ Series Confirmed With Ewan McGregor
The rumored Obi-Wan Disney+ Series has officially been confirmed, with Ewan McGregor reprising his role from the prequels.
The announcement was made by Lucasfilm President, Kathleen Kennedy at D23 Expo during the Disney+ panel.
“After secrets and fibs and not being able to talk about it, I am thrilled to bring out a beloved member of the star wars family…" Kennedy said as Ewan McGregor walked onstage.
“Kathleen, can you ask me in front of all these witnesses, can you please ask me, am I going to play Obi-Wan Kenobi again?” McGregor said, in which Kathleen asked him, "Ewan, are you going to play Obi-Wan?"
Marvel’s What If: Everything We Saw at D23’s Disney+ Panel
In addition to announcing several brand new Marvel shows, the Disney+ panel at D23 also gave us our first look at the upcoming animated series Marvel's What If... Read on for a breakdown of the footage we saw and what you can expect from this ambitious project.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was present at the panel to introduce the footage. Feige said that each episode will focus on a specific MCU movie with exactly one story element changed, exploring how that one change has rippling effects and fundamentally alters the story we know.
Numerous MCU actors will return to voice their characters, with some of the standout names mentioned at the panel including Michael B. Jordan (Killmonger), Sebastian Stan (Bucky), Josh Brolin (Thanos) and Mark Ruffalo (Hulk).
Star Wars: The Clone Wars Disney+ Release Window Announced
Star War: The Clone Wars, the hit animated Star Wars TV series, is returning for a new season on Disney+. Today, Lucasfilm announced Star Wars: Clone Wars is coming to Disney+ on February 2020.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars ran for seven seasons between 2008 and 2013. Developed by Dave Filoni, The Clone Wars filled in the gaps during the Age of Republic. The series followed a pre-Darth Vader Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and introduced new characters like the popular Ahsoka Tano.
The Clone Wars was canceled in 2013, but last year Disney and Lucasfilm announced a new season was in development for the Disney+ streaming service. Filoni will return for the series and he promised at Comic-Con 2018 that the new season will continue the storylines that were left off when the show ended.
