Marvel’s Avengers Needs These Classic Marvel Costumes

Like Marvel's Spider-Man before it, Marvel's Avengers puts its own visual spin on Marvel's iconic heroes. The game features unique costume designs for Earth's Mightiest Heroes, designs that draw inspiration from both the comics and the MCU.

While not all fans are impressed with the character designs we've seen so far, the upside is that the game will feature costume changes and a wide range of cosmetic items. As with Spider-Man, we're expecting the game to offer classic Marvel Comics looks as alternate costumes, either in the form of unlockable in-game items or DLC. We have some ideas on what needs to be included in the game. Check out the slideshow below or scroll down to see our must-have Marvel costumes.

Apple Announces Next Event for September 10

Apple announced that its next iPhone event will take place on September 10 at 10 a.m. PST. Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 11 at the Steve Jobs Theater at its headquarters in Cupertino, California.

Apple’s invitation doesn’t explicitly reference what it will be announcing at the event, but according to rumors overheard by The Verge, three new iPhone models may be presented. These will most likely include successors to the current iPhone XR, the iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max.

Two of those phones are expected to show off Apple’s new triple-camera system, and the XS Max’s next incarnation may feature an even bigger screen size, going from the original 5.8 inches to 6.1 inches.

Creature in the Well Dev Discusses Hellboy and Other Inspirations

Much like its title monster, there’s more to Creature in the Well than there might seem at first. Flight School Studio’s unique “Pinbrawler” seems ostensibly simple, as I took control of a robot turning back on the power of a long-dormant facility despite the protests of the titular creature. But there’s depth to its pinball-meets-hack-and-slash gameplay and definite finesse required to make it far in the action-adventure, where turning on the power is a matter of speed, power, and precision.

Watch the gameplay, with commentary from Flight School’s Adam Volker, above to see one of the areas of Creature in the Well’s mountain-embedded labyrinth, as well as the hub town located just outside. Volker walked me through the basics of what Creature in the Well plays like, both its inspirations in style and gameplay, how it started as a multiplayer-focused idea, and more.

Moving Out Makes the Hassle of Moving Chaotic, Couch-Coop Fun

I hate moving… with a passion. Sure, it’s necessary to take that next step, but no matter how much you prepare and plan, moving just always, always, sucks. Fortunately, SMG Studio’s new action-puzzle game Moving Out removes all the worst elements of the process, putting you in control of a cartoonish cast of characters whose job it is to get the items into the truck. By any means necessary.

Where Moving Out really hits home is in that same arcade-y, pick-up-and-play feel akin to something like Overcooked. Which is fitting since SMG just announced its partnership with Team17, the publisher behind the Overcooked series. The premise is simple, each level – a suburban home, a two-story office building, a chicken-swarmed farmhouse, etc – has a set number of key items that you’ve got to load into a truck. The goal is to do it as fast as possible, alone or with up to four friends. Sometimes that means jamming a queen bed through a bedroom doorway, hucking a box full of belongings across the front lawn, or grabbing a pig by its back-bacon and awkwardly wattling it toward the truck.

Blizzard To ‘Substantially’ Increase WoW Classic Server Capacity

Blizzard has announced that it's "substantially increasing" its server capacity after huge queues of players began forming to play World of Warcraft Classic.

Since launch earlier this week, images started appearing online of players forming actual in-game lines waiting patiently to complete quests. Outside the game, other queues formed as saturated medium-sized realms couldn't let in any more players.

To combat this, Blizzard plans to increase realm capacity. Posting to the official WoW Classic forum, Blizzard said "with hotfixes that we are currently deploying to all WoW Classic realms, we are substantially increasing the number of players that can be simultaneously logged in and playing. We expect this to result in smaller queues for realms that have large queues, and some realms should no longer have queues at all.”

Yakuza 7 Announced With Some Major Series Changes

Sega has officially unveiled the next chapter in the Yakuza series, which takes combat in a different direction to its predecessors.

Its full Japanese title is Ryu ga Gotoku 7, which roughly translates to Yakuza 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness - though its name in the West will likely be slightly different. Yakuza 7 is headlined by an all-new main character, Ichiban Kasuga, but the biggest shake up is its approach to how fighting plays out. The brawling action of past games is being swapped out for turn-based combat.

Gematsu has translated the Japanese press release which describes how the game uses a ""live command RPG battle" system that combines the series’ signature action with an RPG-style command system. It has evolved into a system in which anyone can easily enjoy exhilarating battles. In this completely new battle system, Ichiban Kasuga and his party will fight by selecting techniques with various effects such as attack, recovery, support, and more."

Man of Medan Sequel, Little Hope, Teased For 2020

The next game in The Dark Pictures Anthology and sequel to Man of Medan has been announced. Revealed in a teaser trailer after the Man of Medan credits, the next game is called Little Hope and will be released in 2020.

The trailer features Bandersnatch and Midsommar’s Will Poulter as Andrew, and appears to be set in a creepy town called Little Hope. A young girl with a creepy doll can be seen dancing around a fire, and Andrew’s friend Angela is shown to be in trouble. Beyond that, the trailer offers very little indication as to what Little Hope’s story is.

As an anthology series, The Dark Pictures presents each game as a standalone experience, rather than as a ‘sequel’ to the games before it. As far as we know there is no connection between Man of Medan and Little Hope in narrative or characters, but we wouldn’t be surprised if there are hints or Easter eggs littered around the games.

Capcom is teasing a new Resident Evil project, which it will reveal at Tokyo Game Show this September.

The tease comes in the form of a website titled Project Resistance. The R and E in the title are shown in red among other white letters, making it fairly clear that the game is a Resident Evil title.

The website explains that the teaser trailer for the new project will be shown on September 9 at 3:00PM UTC (8am PT, 4pm UK, 1am AEST), and suggests people stay tuned for future updates.

Project Resistance will then be shown at Capcom’s booth at Tokyo Games Show, in which gameplay is promised. The game will be on stage on September 12, 13, 14, and 15.

Astral Chain Might Be the Best-Looking Game on Switch

I'm increasingly convinced that Astral Chain is the most beautiful game on Switch. Breath of the Wild is a beautiful pastel-pastoral, Super Mario Odyssey still has that sheer cartoon charm, and the likes of Thumper and Ape Out drip with expressive style. But only PlatinumGames' latest has caused me to run out of room on my SD card through sheer weight of screenshots.

Its cyberpunk island-city setting, The Ark, is a blanketing haze of neon, either buzzing down from buildings, or reflected back up at you from rainfall-slick streets. Its characters feel like they’ve sprung into 3D from an anime, a grab-bag of pink hair, eyepatches and over-the-top animations. Even its frenetic, two-tone combat is an exercise in visual flair, the titular chain whipping across the battlefield, as both player and Legion (your semi-AI controlled living weapon) dance their way through combat.
