Leslie Jones Leaving SNL Ahead of Next Season
Leslie Jones has decided not to return to Saturday Night Live.
Jones, who joined the cast in 2014, is departing ahead of the fall premiere of the sketch comedy show, according to THR. So far, Jones is the only cast member from the previous season who will not appear in the upcoming 45th season, which premieres on Sept. 28.
THR reported that Jones is leaving to focus on feature film projects and a Netflix comedy special. Jones can next be seen in the Coming to America sequel alongside SNL alumni Eddie Murphy and Tracy Morgan.
Thor: Ragnarok’s Taika Waititi In Talks for The Suicide Squad Role
DC's upcoming Suicide Squad sequel may feature another face familiar to MCU fans. According to Deadline, Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi is in talks to join the cast of James Gunn's The Suicide Squad.
There's no word yet on what character Waititi might be playing, or whether the role is live-action or a CGI character a la Korg in Thor: Ragnarok.
Deadline also reports filming on The Suicide Squad will begin within the next several weeks, indicating that a cast table read is scheduled for September 11 and production will officially begin on September 23.
Why Rey Embracing the Dark Side Was Inevitable
The D23 footage for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker dropped yesterday, and like every Star Wars trailer before it, it’s left widespread speculation in its wake. Specifically, much of the discussion is centered around the trailer’s now signature final moment: the reveal of Rey in a black cloak, with a double-bladed red lightsaber. Will the sequel trilogy’s protagonist actually turn to the Dark Side? Maybe, maybe not, but that might not be the right question. Rather, what does this signify for Rey and how she relates to her predecessors, Anakin and Luke?
After all, judging by her own journey and the ones of those who came before her, Rey reckoning with her dark side in The Rise of Skywalker was simply a matter of time.
Nintendo Switch Lite Hands-On Impressions: Good Things, In a Smaller Package
At $199 and in three different colors, the Switch Lite is to the Switch what the 2DS was to the 3DS. Just as the 2DS dropped some of the features of the 3DS for more portability and a lower price, the Switch Lite does something similar, removing docking support and keeping the controllers built-in rather than removable.
It's not specifically aimed at the latent Pokemon crowd who plan to play Nintendo's upcoming Pokemon Shield and Sword, but I think it goes without saying: This is being introduced as a Pokemon device for people who don't want to go all-in on the Nintendo Switch experience.
How Titans Season 2 Is Changing a Landmark Batman Story
A new trailer for Titans: Season 2 has arrived, offering a closer look at the show's growing cast of heroes and villains. But even as Season 2 brings the team a bit closer to the Teen Titans fans know and love, it's also making a significant change to the Batman family. Titans could wind up profoundly reinventing one of the most iconic Batman stories of all time - the death of Jason Todd.
Read on to find out why we think the Dick/Jason relationship will be even more pivotal in Season 2, and why it seems destined for a bad end.
Dick Grayson and Jason Todd
Curran Walters' Jason was introduced in Season 1 as both an ally and antagonist to Brenton Thwaites' Dick Grayson. As in the comics, Jason is depicted as a younger, more arrogant Robin taking up the mantle after Dick left Gotham to find his own path. But while the two initially butted heads, they've also bonded over their mutual dislike of being bossed around by Bruce Wayne; Jason sparked Dick's fears over Bruce finally losing control and becoming exactly the sort of villain he used to fight. Those fears played directly into Season 1's finale, where a paralyzed Jason warned Dick that Batman had finally snapped, forcing Dick to return to Gotham and help the GCPD stop the Dark Knight once and for all.
Mega Man Zero/ZX Collection Announced For PS4, Switch, Xbox One and PC
After a recent leak, Capcom has confirmed that it’s bringing Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection to consoles and PC next year. The package combines all four Mega Man Zero and two Mega Man Zero ZX games into a single package. You can watch the new trailer above.
The Mega Man Zero/ZX games are some of the most difficult, but stylish games in the Mega Man franchise. The Mega Man Zero games were originally released on the Game Boy Advance, but the first Mega Man Zero Collection was released in 2010 for the Nintendo DS. The Mega Man ZX games are a sequel series released on the Nintendo DS and includes Mega Man Zero ZX and Mega Man Zero ZX Advent.
Here’s Why Major Theater Chains Won’t Show Scorsese’s New Film
Netflix has announced that Martin Scorsese's The Irishman will debut in theaters 27 days ahead of its arrival on the streaming service, but not at major chains.
Deadline reports that the star-studded mob drama will receive a limited release, starting out in select theaters across Los Angeles and New York on November 1. Additional screens will be added in the United States and the United Kingdom throughout its 27-day theatrical window before launching on Netflix on November 27, the day before Thanksgiving.
World of Warcraft Classic Players Are Very Politely Queuing For Quest Items
Players of World of Warcraft Classic are forming polite queues to collect in-game quest items.
You may have already seen that World of Warcraft Classic has proven exceptionally popular, with 1 million viewers on Twitch and huge queues to actually access the servers and get playing. The result of so many people diving in is that substantially more people than usual are attempting to pick up quest items. But rather than cause a rabble and provide the item to the player who can hit the pick-up button the fastest, the community has organised itself into polite lines so that everyone has a chance at getting the item.
