Superman Is Losing His Secret Identity, But Who Cares?

DC Comics is teasing a major status quo change for the Superman franchise in late 2019. Newsarama has spotted among DC's December solicitations some pretty convincing evidence that Superman will be revealing his secret identity to the general public. In particular, there's the solicit for Lois Lane #7, which reads, "This issue ties to the events of December’s Superman #18 and the gigantic status quo shift for both Lois and her husband, Superman, when the Man of Steel decides to reveal his identity to the world."

In a vacuum, this might seem like a shocking development for Superman, but given both Marvel and DC's recent history with secret identity leaks, we can't help but wonder - so what? What makes this story any different than the others that have explored the fleeting consequences of leaked identities?

Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s Classic Mode Won’t Satisfy Purists

Since Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s big gameplay reveal at E3 this year, fans have begun to rally into two broad camps: those who dig its new action-led combat system, and those who really wish Square Enix had stuck to the turn-based design of the original game. In what could be seen as an attempt to satisfy the latter camp, Square Enix has announced a new ‘classic’ battle mode. Yet what the studio has revealed is more likely to satisfy those already sold on the new vision for Final Fantasy 7 rather than those who oppose it.

The issue is a simple one: classic mode is not a turn-based combat system. It is still Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s new real-time combat, but it has been tweaked just enough to provide an illusion of individual turns.

Red Dead Online has received a new update that adds Legendary Bounties to the game, as well as a new collector’s map and a Free Aim series of activities.

The first of ten Legendary Bounties kicks off now, which designates some of the world of Red Dead’s most dangerous criminals as targets for players to track down and haul in. The first target is Barbarella Alcazar, the de facto leader of the bloodthirsty Del Lobos gang. Toy Story 4: Exclusive Deleted Scene Introduces Buzz Lightyear’s ‘Knockoffs’

While Toy Story 4 introduced a number of new toys into an already massive cast, there are even more new characters who didn't quite make the cut. We have an exclusive clip that showcases some of these characters, as Buzz Lightyear meets three "knockoffs" crudely designed in his image.

Check out this deleted scene in the video player above.

Director Josh Cooley breaks down the origins of the scene as he introduces the clip. The idea being that Buzz would meet several bootleg toys while trapped as a prize inside a carnival booth. The toys look like him (more or less) but they aren't quite the real deal. And as we can see from one of these characters, Buzz's iconic catchphrases didn't quite make the transition.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the Cruel Realities of White Phosphorous

War is particularly ubiquitous in video games. From the original Metal Gear to Battlefield: Bad Company to Spec Ops: The Line, it has become one of the most popular backdrops for a long line of games, and the de-facto setting for online multiplayer. It makes sense; after all, video games are so often about conflict resolution, and what type of conflict is more recognizable than war? And there's no more recognizable name in war games than Call of Duty.

Since the first game was released in 2003, Call of Duty has grown from a singular game about World War II into one of the most popular franchises in the world. CoD has dropped players into battlefields ranging from occupied France in the 1940s, the mid-2000s Middle East, the front lawn of the White House, and even into outer space. Players have rescued hostages, conducted black ops missions, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and stopped nuclear weapons from striking the continental United States.
