The Rock Returning to WWE for SmackDown’s Debut on FOX

It's been rumored for weeks now, WWE trying to get Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson back on TV for the SmackDown 20th Anniversary Special on FOX, on October 4, but now it's official! The Rock himself announced that he was going to attend and that "there's no place like home" on social media today.

Dwayne Johnson's arguably the busiest performer in Hollywood (and he's certainly the highest paid), so much so that the HBO series he produces and stars in, Ballers, feels like a quaint side project. So it was all going to come down to whether or not Johnson could be in Los Angeles, at Staples Center, this coming Friday night.

2013 vs 2020: Which Final Console Year Will Be Better?

2013 feels like forever ago, an era slowly fading away that included many iconic single-player narrative stories, a time before ongoing shared-world experiences existed, before the rise of loot boxes and microtransactions; an era where not every game was an open-world experience with RPG elements, before every game with backtracking was referred to as a “Metroidvania.” The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 era was a  simpler time, and yet, here we are again on the cusp of the next generation of consoles, where cloud-based gaming is the hot new trend, and everyone has their own game streaming service. With that being said, 2020 might be the biggest year we’ve had in video games since 2007 (which saw the release of BioShock, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Super Mario Galaxy, and The Orange Box - which included Portal.)

Ranking Every Resident Evil Spinoff

Capcom recently announced Project Resistance, a team-based Resident Evil spin-off game that pits a group of survivors against the zombies and big bads the franchise is famous for. Whilst this new game looks all kinds of fun, it’s true that past Resident Evil spin-offs have been fairly hit and miss in terms of quality.

More experimental than games in the core series, the spin-off games have a history stretching back to the turn of the century and have dabbled in a surprising number of different genres. Whether any of them are worth revisiting before Project Resistance hits beta testing in October is, of course, up to you - but to help you decide we’ve put together a list of every console Resident Evil spin-off released so far, and how it fared on our review scale.

Borderlands 3: SAG-AFTRA Responds to Gearbox’s Statement on Troy Baker

UPDATE (10/1/19) -  SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) has sent IGN a response to Gearbox Software's statement from the story below.

"We are fully aware of the anti-labor, right-to-work-for-less laws that help explain why Texas has more minimum-wage workers than any state in the Union. Employers in Texas and other right-to-work-for-less states nevertheless routinely work under SAG-AFTRA agreements with no legal obstacle at all. To the extent that Gearbox’s statement reflects legitimate ignorance, Gearbox could easily have asked that question during their discussions with SAG-AFTRA, which they did not.

The Key to Kylo Ren’s Redemption Teased in Star Wars: Resistance Reborn

Will Ben Solo follow his grandfather's example and renounce the Dark Side in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker? We won't find out until December, but an upcoming Star Wars novel shows how Kylo Ren's redemption is possible.

StarWars.com published an excerpt from author Rebecca Roanhorse's upcoming novel Star Wars: Resistance Reborn. Set shortly after the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Resistance Reborn explores how General Leia, Rey and the handful of surviving Resistance members begin the process of rebuilding. One particularly noteworthy passage shows Leia reflecting on her son and the possibility of redemption. As Leia explains, Ben can only be saved if he specifically chooses to be saved.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Preview: A Stunningly Detailed Aviation Simulation

I don't think I've ever been as impressed by any technology as much as I was by Microsoft's upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator (which is coming to Xbox One for the first time, in addition to its usual PC release). It's astonishing in its commitment to realism, and the implementation is clever, extraordinarily technical, and completely blew me away.

I was lucky enough to experience the sim at the Worldwide Flight Simulator Press Event, held at the offices of Rainier Air at the Renton Municipal Airport just outside Seattle. The city of Renton is an aviation city, home of the Boeing manufacturing plant responsible for the 737 airliner. Sitting on the edge of Lake Washington, the woodlands give way to massive hangars and aircraft in various states of completion. The airfield where I got to learn about and play Flight Simulator is the first strip of tarmac the 737's taste before they take to the sky to be delivered to customers around the globe.
