New Batmonster and Harley Quinn Statues Coming From DC Collectibles

Two new statues from DC Collectibles are making their debut at New York Comic Con, but IGN has a preview for you ahead of the show.

The first is a new addition to the Batman: Black and White line called the Batmonster. Based on a design from artist Greg Capullo, it features Batman transformed into a horrific owl creature as seen on the cover of the New 52’s Batman #6, rendered in black and white. The disturbing image comes from the events of Issue #5 where the Court of Owls break Batman’s psyche to the point where he hallucinates that he’s turning into an owl himself.

Check out new figure and the art pages from Capullo on which it’s based:

The second new collectible we have for you is a new DC Cover Girls statue of Harley Quinn designed by artist Frank Cho. The DC Cover Girls showcases iconic DC women as depicted by iconic artists who have drawn the characters. It speaks to Harley Quinn’s popularity that she already has a DC Cover Girls figure in her classic getup by artist Joelle Jones and now she’s getting a second, unmasked rendition by Cho.

Ring Fit Adventure Preview: Come for the Workout, Stay for the RPG

I’ve been integrating Ring Fit Adventure into my daily life for just about a week now, and it’s kicking my butt. The fitness-RPG is no joke when it comes to challenging me, as someone who has been a regular gym rat for years though lapsed in recent time, leaving me in a sweaty but satisfied mess by the end of each session.

I want to spend more time with its fitness aspects before chiming in on its real longterm health applications. But I’ve been most intrigued by its simplistic RPG trappings, and how they do a great job of engaging me with its exercise elements.

7 Resident Evil Influences We’ve Found In Daymare: 1998

In July 2015, Italian indie developer Invader Games unveiled Resident Evil 2 Reborn, a short-lived fan project aiming to remake RE2 for a modern audience. A month later, Capcom officially announced the Resident Evil 2 remake and Reborn was dead. But from its ashes came Daymare: 1998, an original survival horror game that bears more than a passing resemblance to the original that kickstarted it all.

From HUNK to S.T.A.R.S., here are the seven Resident Evil influences we’ve found so far:

What a HUNK

WHAT A HUNK 5Masked mystery HUNK has always been a favourite among Resident Evil fans, and this ruthless Umbrella agent is definitely the inspiration for Daymare’s Agent Liev. Both carry an MP5, are dressed entirely in black and their faces are covered by a rather sinister looking gas mask. Look familiar?

Disney Plus UK Release Date Announced

Disney Plus is set to launch this month on November 12, but only in certain countries around the world. Many territories are being left out of the steaming service’s debut, including the United Kingdom. So when is the Disney Plus UK release date? And how long will British Star Wars fans have to wait to watch The Mandalorian? The answers are finally here, but unfortunately the date is still months away.

Disney Plus UK release date

Disney Plus will be available in the UK on March 31. This is the date for several locations in Europe, including Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.

That puts Disney Plus' European roll out four and a half months behind the US and Canada, where the service launched on November 12. The announcement also notes that due to regional differences, certain titles may vary by territory. As such, it may be the case that the UK version of the streaming platform has different content or even fewer options compared to the US variant.

Secret The Division 2 Boss That Was Hidden For Months Has Been Found

A secret boss called "The Agony" has been discovered in The Division 2, but only after a developer dropped some hints on a livestream.

For two months no one has apparently been aware of The Agony's existence, a boss that had been added as part of the DC Outskirts: Expeditions DLC. Massive Entertainment developer Trick Dempsey was baffled by this after he googled to see if anyone had found it.

“I was just like: I don’t

a video guide for finding this dude,” Kotaku quotes him as saying in a State of the Game developer stream. “There’s just nothing.” In response, Dempsey started cryptically hinting that maybe players might want to "do some things" in an area of The Division 2's open world that is "a football field's length in which you are doing nothing."

Matrix 4 Reportedly to Feature Young Neo and Morpheus

Warner Bros. is reportedly looking for two actors to portray younger versions of Neo and Morpheus in the next instalment of the iconic sci-fi series, The Matrix.

Variety reporter Justin Kroll, who originally broke the news about Matrix 4, recently appeared as a guest on an episode of Robbie Fox's My Mom's Basement podcast, in which he stated that casting announcements for these characters could be coming in the next couple of weeks.

"Now I think within the next week or two we’ll have Young Morpheus and Young Neo news coming up," he shared. "Because I know Lana's meeting with people quite aggressively because they want to shoot that in February."

The Bloodborne Community Is Holding Its Own Halloween Event

The Bloodborne community is organising a month-long Halloween event where players must dress in costume, head to Yharnam, and invade as much as possible.

The unofficial "Official Return to Yharnam" party runs from midnight on October 5 to November 5, and the rules are taking shape based on which suggestions get upvoted the most on the Bloodborne subreddit.

So far the rules include: Create a new character, dress from a list of costumes (like the Grim Reaper - made from a crow hunter outfit with the foreigner hood and burial blade), and invade as often as you're able.

Joker: Conrad Veidt and 4 Other Movies That Inspired the DC Film

Joker director Todd Phillips was unknowingly inspired by the very actor and film that inspired the comic book Joker's look -- Conrad Veidt in The Man Who Laughs -- for his new box office smash.

In a recent interview with IGN, Phillips revealed the five movies Joker fans need to watch to understand the influences for his interpretation of Joker. These are the films that Phillips and his co-screenwriter Scott Silver drew from the most for their gritty, more realistic interpretation of the iconic DC Comics supervillain. And there's not a Batman movie among them.

In my review of Joker, which I gave a 10 out of 10, I said: "Clearly drawing its spirit and style from classic ‘70s and ‘80s films like Taxi Driver, The King of Comedy, A Clockwork Orange, and Dog Day Afternoon, director Todd Phillips’ Joker presents a Gotham City that is unmistakably a stand-in for the hellish New York City of the era." As it turns out, three of those films are among those that Phillips, during our interview with him, listed as the films Joker fans need to see to fully appreciate the movie.
