Epic Says Fortnite’s New Matchmaking System Creates ‘Fairer Matches’

Epic has waded into the discussions around whether Fortnite's new skill-based matchmaking system is balanced, saying the goal is to create "fairer matches."

The new matchmaking process disregards what platform you're playing on, and instead attempts to drop you in with players of similar skill. It means you could be playing on a map with mobile and PC players together.

"With the rollout, we've seen a lot of discussion about potentially unfair competitive advantages from pooling players together across platforms and input devices," Epic wrote in a blog post. "The new matchmaking system, however, accounts for various skill levels across different platforms and control inputs, and groups players of similar skill levels together.

House of the Dead 1 and 2 Remakes Confirmed

The iconic on-rails zombie shooters that dominated 90s arcades, House of the Dead 1 and 2, are being remade.

Publisher Forever Entertainment confirmed on Twitter that a deal has been signed, though no further details are available at this point. We don't know what platforms the remakes will land on, nor when they might release.

"Hi Guys! We confirm the signing of the agreement regarding remakes of the games 'The House of the Dead' and 'The House of the Dead 2'," reads the tweet. "No platforms or release dates have been confirmed, and unfortunately we can’t say anything more for now."

Ubisoft Removes Some Microtransactions From Ghost Recon: Breakpoint

Ahead of Ghost Recon: Breakpoint's launch on October 4, Ubisoft has addressed its philosophy towards microtransactions and why it chose to remove some Time-Savers items that weren't supposed to be available quite yet.

As reported by USGamer.net, Ubisoft took to its forums to discuss in-game purchasable content and how it "aimed at offering a fair and rewarding experience to our players however they want to experience our game, in solo, co-op, PvE or PvP."

Harley Quinn: November Premiere Date Revealed for DC Universe Series

The upcoming DC Universe animated series Harley Quinn now has an official release date: November 29.

Executive Producers Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker were on hand at New York Comic Con to officially announce the premiere date for the original adult-animated comedy series Harley Quinn.

Amanda Conner, artist and co-writer of DC’s hit New 52 Harley Quinn series, was on hand as well to talk about the art she created that went on to inspire the look of the animated series. Pieces of are featuring Harley were hung throughout an immersive pop-up installation at DCU HQ.

IGN reviewed the Harley Quinn series premiere when it was aired at San Diego Comic-Con.

Hasbro Reveals Marvel Legends Stan Lee Figure

Hasbro announced at New York Comic Con 2019 that the new line of Marvel Legends figures will include a six-inch figure of Stan Lee, as well as a Deadpool figure assortment and Fantastic Four figure assortment.

Take a look at all the new figures in the gallery below:

The Stan Lee figure will be available starting Spring 2020 for $24.99. The design is inspired by Lee's cameo in Marvel's The Avengers, where he played a chess player skeptical of Earth's mightiest heroes. The figure also includes a Captain America shield featuring Lee's signature and the chessboard from his cameo. Lee passed away in 2018 at the age of 95.
