Call of Duty: Mobile’s Microtransactions Could Be Worse

Given the Call of Duty series’ less-than-sterling reputation when it comes to loot boxes, and the long history of cash-hungry “free-to-play” games turning out to be overly aggressive with their monetization – especially on smartphones – a free-to-play, mobile version of Call of Duty sounds like a perfect storm of microtransactions. Surprising no one, Call of Duty: Mobile is chock full of opportunities to spend money, ranging from season passes to full-on shameless loot boxes, and some of these can be downright predatory. At the same time, it’s not as bad as it could be.

There are two forms of currency in Call of Duty: Mobile: Credits and COD Points. Credits are the currency you can earn by playing, and they’re about as useless as you would expect. I’m certainly not the best Call of Duty player, but in my 10 or so hours of playtime I’ve only earned a little over 1,000 Credits. A weapon skin in the store can cost anywhere from 1,500 Credits for a more common skin, to 20,000 for the rarest available skin, the M4LMG - Black Gold. If you extrapolate that out, at my pace you’d have to play for roughly 200 hours to earn the most coveted skin.

Google Pixel 4 and Google Pixel 4 XL Hands-On Impressions

The Google Pixel 4 has to be the world’s worst kept secret. However, despite months upon months of rumors, early hands-on videos, and leaks by Google itself, it has been the Android phone I’ve been desperately waiting to get my mitts on.

This new flagship handset is the most substantial reinvention of the Pixel phone since its inception. Among the things Google has changed here, this device features a new design, a new telephoto camera, and a built-in radar.

But before we get too into the weeds, let’s talk about how this new phone looks and feels. With the Pixel 4, Google has gone away from the two-tone smooth glossy and textured matte design. In its place, the phone now has a prominent black bumper that wraps around the edges.

How to Find the Best Black Friday Gaming Deals for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are closer than you think, and these sales present a great opportunity to pick up deals on the Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

This is the perfect time of year to find a bargain on all things gaming, with new consoles expected to land prior to Black Friday next year. This sale season could be the last chance for retailers to sell current systems, and as a result, Microsoft and Sony are expected to push console sales as much as possible this year.

Why Should You Buy Now?

We can confidently say that current-gen consoles will receive significant discounts come Black Friday. They've received discounts every year, so it would be unexpected if this didn't happen again. Why should you consider a purchase now though, six years after the initial launch? It's a fair question to ask, considering the PS5 and Xbox's "Project Scarlett" aren't that far away, but there are a few different reasons, with one of the biggest contributing factors being cost.

Google Pixel 4 Announced, Has Radar Built-In

After being the world's worst kept secret ever for months, Google has finally officially announced the Pixel 4 at its Made By Google Press Event.

The Pixel 4 is the first smartphone to include radar capabilities. Radar allows the phone to be touched "without touching," sensing through materials and improving the gesture experience, according to Google.

One of the new features touted with Motion Sense on Pixel 4 was shutting off your morning alarm. As you reach for your phone, the radar senses your reach and the nalarm volume decreases as your hand grows closer.

On top of the new radar features in Motion Sense, Google Pixel 4 also has live transcription capabilities. The Pixel 4 audio recorded "taps into

The Pixelbook Go is Google’s Most Affordable Self-Made Chromebook Yet

Google's has a history of making the most premium and expensive Chromebooks around, but at its Made by Google event, it introduced an affordable Pixelbook Go laptop.

A "thin and light laptop" with reported all-day battery life, the Pixelbook Go comes in just black "and not pink," but the "not pink" can be ordered at a later date.

It includes a "wavy" bottom for increased grip and has a keyboard promised to be both "comfortable and quiet."

Unlike Google's previous convertible Pixelbook or detachable Pixel Slate, this new Chrome OS device is a classic clamshell laptop. From the outside, it looks like an everyday slim 13-inch notebook, that is until you flip it over and reveal its ribbed, washboard-styled bottom.

WWE: RAW and SmackDown Draft Results – Night 2

WWE's Draft, meant to more definitively split the main roster between USA Network's Monday Night RAW and FOX's Friday Night SmackDown, concluded on Monday.

Night 2 saw the likes of Seth Rollins, Charlotte Flair, and Rusev head to RAW while SmackDown nabbed Brock Lesnar, New Day, Bayley, and Daniel Bryan.

As mentioned back in the Night 1 results, WWE's two main shows have two separate corporate masters (which have also been turned into on-air "characters" in the form of "executives") so this Draft, even though it's the second one this year, is meant to be a more permanent split.
