El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie Opening Weekend Nielsen Ratings Revealed
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie had a successful opening weekend, averaging over 6.5 million viewers over its first three days of release on Netflix.
As reported by THR, Nielsen revealed that El Camino "had an average minute audience — the closest thing to Nielsen's linear TV ratings for streaming shows — of 6.54 million over its first three days of release." Nearly 40% of those viewers watched El Camino on the day of its release, while Nielsen also confirmed that "8.2 million people watched at least a few minutes of the film."
THR points out that "Netflix contends that Nielsen measurements of its programming aren't accurate because they count TV viewership only and don't include viewing on other devices. Nielsen also only measures U.S. audiences; the limited data Netflix has released for its shows and films are worldwide figures."
The Boys Season 2 Casts Patton Oswalt in Secret Role
Amazon's The Boys has cast Ratatouille's Patton Oswalt in a "#SecretRole" for its second season.
The Boys creator Eric Kripke took to Twitter to reveal the news that Oswalt would be joining the cast of The Boys for at least its second season, saying "Thank you @pattonoswalt, that was AMAZING! #TheBoysTV #Season2 #SecretRole"
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Won’t Have Fast Travel
While Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will see players traveling the galaxy as Cal Kestis, it will not feature fast travel as Respawn Entertainment wants players to "explore and traverse (and re-traverse) the different planets."
During a hands-on event featuring the first few hours of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, USgamer.com noticed that fast travel was not an option while exploring one of the early planets, Zeffo. Instead, players must traverse back to their ship, the Mantis, before leaving and flying back out into space.
We reached out to EA for a comment on this, and they responded by saying "while we don’t have fast travel in the game, we do want players to explore and traverse (and re-traverse) the different planets, which players can do from the Mantis. We also wanted each planet’s explorable areas to feel interconnected through discoverable shortcuts back to key areas. No matter how deep you got into a planet, you can traverse back to where you want to go with ease or through a little planning on your map."
‘Batman’s Not a Hero,’ Says Robert Pattinson
Robert Pattinson, who will play the Caped Crusader in Matt Reeves' upcoming The Batman film, revealed some key insights about his take on the iconic comic book character, and what excites him about the role.
In an interview with the New York Times, Pattinson admits that he would prefer not to play a straightforward good guy because "the most fun part of doing movies is that you can explore the more grotesque or naughty sides of your psyche in a somewhat safe environment." Following up on Pattinson's comment, the NYT noted, "You were saying earlier that we should be skeptical of any actor who wants to play the hero, and yet here you are playing Batman."
Does Zombieland: Double Tap Have an End Credits Scene?
As with many blockbuster movies these days, Zombieland fans are probably wondering if they should stick around for any mid- or post-credits scenes in the new sequel. The answer is yes, you should hang around after the credits.
Fortunately, the sequel's end credits scene is pretty hard to miss, as it appears shortly after the credits begin rolling and serves as a fairly substantial coda to the movie. As it turns out, part of this scene was already revealed in the trailers.
So there you have it. Don't bother rushing out of the theater after the movie ends (unless you're really racing to make it to the bathroom). There's more undead fun for the having.
Fans of the original Zombieland should definitely make a point of checking out the sequel. IGN reviewer Simon Thompson said, "Zombieland: Double Tap is a riot, and a lot of that is due to Zoey Deutch and her character, Madison. While it doesn’t quite achieve classic status in its own right, when it comes to sequels that do the original film justice, it is up there. It’s worth the wait, your time and your money."

NBA 2K20 is the best-selling game of September 2019, immediately becoming the best-selling game of 2019. NBA 2K20 also marked the best launch month sales for any sports game in history. A distinction previously held by NBA 2K19.
The NPD Group published its monthly sales report for video game sales today. NBA 2K20 beat out games like Borderlands 3 and August 2019’s best-seller Madden NFL 20 to become the best-selling game of September.
Nintendo Switch Sales Surpass 15 Million in North America
The Nintendo Switch has surpassed 15 million sales in North America, Nintendo announced today. In 2019 alone Switch sales jumped more than 20%, signaling the strength of Nintendo’s handheld console.
In a press release sent out today, Nintendo announced that both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch Lite have combined to sell over 15 million units in North America since the console was released in 2017. The strong 2019 sales were likely a combination of sales from the Switch Lite, a new Switch model with a better battery, and continued strength of the system in general.
Nintendo also announced that, to date, 14 Nintendo Switch games have sold over a million units, and four sold more than six million: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Netflix Reveals Its Most Popular Shows and Movies of the Year
Netflix has released a list of its most-watched TV shows and movies during a Q3 investor earnings report (via Engadget) for 2019. For reference, the streaming giant's Q3 begins on the first day of July and ends on the last day of September.
Netflix rarely reveals its viewing data, unless a show or movie is a big success, like last year's Bird Box, which accumulated over 80 million views worldwide. On the movie front, Bird Box is still king, but the rest of the list contains a few films you've (probably) never heard of.
Kurt Sutter Says He’s Fired from FX for Being an ‘Abrasive Dick’
FX has reportedly fired Mayans M.C. showrunner Kurt Sutter. According to Sutter himself, the firing is a result of him being "an abrasive dick."
The news comes from The Hollywood Reporter, which notes Sutter was fired by FX CEO John Landgraf and Disney TV Studios and ABC Entertainment chairman Dana Walden following "'multiple complaints' over his behavior." According to THR, the decision was made on Wednesday and Sutter responded by sending a memo to the cast and crew today, at which point he seemed to accept responsibility and referred to himself as "an abrasive dick."
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Will Have a Battle Pass Instead of Loot Boxes
Activision and Infinity Ward are doubling down on their commitment to not have loot boxes in the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare with the announcement that it will instead feature a battle pass. The new system is almost identical to other battle pass systems found in games like Fortnite.
In a newly published blog post, Activision announced that is “introducing a new Battle Pass system, not a loot box system,” to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The news comes after Infinity Ward announced the studio is not developing a loot box system for Modern Warfare despite rumors and leaks suggesting otherwise.
