Why FFXIV Is Getting a TV Series Adaptation Over FF7

Final Fantasy XIV is getting a live-action TV series adaptation, but it wasn't the only Final Fantasy title considered for a small screen makeover. While we think the FFXIV universe absolutely deserves a show, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Hivemind, the production company behind the Final Fantasy adaptation (which is also responsible for Amazon's The Expanse and Netflix's upcoming The Witcher series), did also consider adapting Final Fantasy 7 to live-action.

Netflix's live-action Cowboy Bebop series has hit a major snag. Deadline reports production on Cowboy Bebop is expected to shut down for 7 to 9 months due to star John Cho suffering a serious knee injury during filming.

According to Deadline, Cho injured his knee in a "freak accident that happened on the last take of a routine and well-rehearsed scene" during production in New Zealand. Cho has reportedly flown to Los Angeles for surgery and will undergo a lengthy period of rehabilitation before returning to the set. Netflix will establish a more definitive timetable for resuming production once Cho's prognosis is clear.

Why a (Probably Not Real) Okami Tease Has Fans Freaked Out

Okami fans got very excited when its director Hideki Kamiya revealed "Okami is going to be back," though there's plenty of reason to take this tease with a grain of salt.

This revelation came about when former GhostWire Tokyo creative director Ikumi Nakamura posted a video on Twitter of the two at PlatinumGames with the caption "Okami is going to be back! We want to make Okami sequel and fans are looking forward to it too. You guys want to see Kamiya’s Okami again, right, everyone? I want to work on it too!"

Watch As We Unbox the Asus ROG Phone 2 and All Its Accessories

The Asus ROG Phone 2 was possibly already the most extreme gaming phone I got my hands on earlier last month, but that still couldn’t prepare me for the insane package it came in.

For starters, it comes in a full-sized carry-on luggage packed to the brim with no less than seven accessories—including a mix of docks, controllers, an attachable fan—and three cases. Oh, and despite being emblazoned with a crimson Republic of Gamers and a circuit board-inspired pattern, this piece of luggage is a fully capable spinner complete with a telescoping handle and all.

Want To Buy Joker Merchandise? Too Bad, It Barely Exists

From standing ovations at international film festivals to public warnings issued by the U.S Army, the publicity around Joker’s release has been as insane and unpredictable as the character himself. Love it or loathe it, Joker is a unique proposition for a comic book film. It’s rated R, it’s removed from being a cog in a larger cinematic universe, and most interestingly, it’s not being merchandised to hell and back like nearly every other film in its category. It’s a peculiar, if not welcome level of restraint from a massive movie studio responsible for one of the biggest films of the year. Seriously, try and name a comic book film from a major movie studio in the last fifteen years that wasn’t launched into theaters alongside an entire mountain of toys, T-shirts, and consumer goods from cereal to toothpaste. You’d be hard pressed. On the flip side, if you walked out of Joker eager to spend some money on merchandise for your work desk, wardrobe, or home office, you literally can’t. As of right now, practically no new Joker merchandise exists.
