The Best Video Game Trailers Of All Time
The video game industry is built on money and hype, and video game trailers are the perfect mix of both. But considering just how many we get bombarded with every year, it takes a truly special one to stand out from the crowd. Here’s our list of the cream of the crop - the best video game trailers ever.
Metal Gear Solid 2: Reveal Trailer, E3 2000
The first trailer for Metal Gear Solid 2, shown at E3 in 2000, is almost single-handedly responsible for that little boast we see in so many AAA trailers today: made entirely from in-game footage. Kojima and his team wanted to show off exactly what we were in for when stepping back into Snake's (assumedly really soft) sneaking boots and managed to do just that. Not only did we get a first look at one of the most anticipated games of all time, we got to see nine whole minutes of cutscenes and gameplay that featured (for its time) some of the most advanced AI, environmental interaction, and stealth-combat mechanics we'd ever seen. Sure there was that whole "you're not actually gonna play as Snake for like 70% of the game" twist, but that didn't come until later. - Jon Ryan, Senior Editor

Marvel Transforms Kitty Pryde Into the New Wolverine
Marvel has been incredibly secretive about its X-Men relaunch, Dawn of X. That goes not just for Jonathan Hickman's core X-Men series, but the five other books spinning out of the new mutant status quo. It's only with the release of Marauders #1 that we actually know the plot of this new series from writer Gerry Duggan and artist Matteo Lolli. And the biggest takeaway from issue #1 is that Kitty Pryde has become the new Wolverine of the X-Men franchise.
Read on for more on Kitty's unexpected new status quo, but beware of full spoilers for Marauders #1!

Barry Jenkins Wants a Miss Moneypenny Standalone Movie, Bond Star Says
Naomie Harris has confirmed that she has been involved in conversations about a possible Miss Moneypenny spin-off movie.
During an appearance on Good Morning America on Monday, Harris confirmed that director Barry Jenkins–who worked with the actress on his 2017 Oscars' Best Picture-winner Moonlight–wants to make a Miss Moneypenny standalone movie.
Find out what the No Time to Die cast members selected as their favorite Bond movie:
has wanted to do a badass, kickass kind of action thing with Moneypenny which I'm all for actually," she admitted. "I got together with Barbara Broccoli, our producer, and I was like 'let's make this happen' but she wasn't so down for it – but maybe one day."
Spin Rhythm XD Is a Rhythm Game That Makes Me Want to Buy a Musical Instrument
There’s a beautiful little touch in Spin Rhythm XD. Occasionally, you’ll be asked to just wildly spin the game’s onscreen controller - a two-tone disc responsible for playing almost all of the game’s notes. It’s a moment of exuberant action amidst a game all about small-scale perfection, the same feeling you used to get from Rock Band’s drum fills.
But what I love in particular is that, when you stop that spin and get ready to keep playing your chosen electronic cut, the game always leaves the disc in the perfect position to play the next note. It’s a miniature masterstroke of design, a way to simultaneously make the game feel fair, and keep you perfectly in the flow (not to mention feeling amazingly good at a game that gets pretty punishing pretty quickly).
