Brand New Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Trailer Released
Rockstar Games has released a brand-new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 PC ahead of its November 5 release. Like the last Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer, this one is also in gorgeous 4K.
After months of rumors, Rockstar officially announced Red Dead Redemption 2 PC back in October. The biggest changes for the PC version are related to the game’s visuals which harness the power of PCs to look even better than it did on consoles.
Rockstar previously released a 4K trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 PC that showed off those visual improvements. And those same improvements can be seen in the new trailer as well. Rockstar claims that the PC version will support 4K resolution, HDR, multi-monitor support, 60fps, and visual enhancements to textures and models.
George RR Martin: Winds of Winter Prioritized Over House of the Dragon
George R. R. Martin has promised that he will not write scripts for Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, until he finishes writing his next book, The Winds of Winter.
The legendary author shared a blog post titled "The Dragons Take Wing" to address the recent announcement that HBO has picked up House of the Dragon as a straight-to-series order. In the post, he outlined several details regarding the new series, which will be based on his novel Fire & Blood, while also offering an update on the sixth instalment of the Song of Ice and Fire saga.
Nintendo Beats Profit Estimates Thanks To Switch Lite
Nintendo has beaten analyst profit estimations for the second quarter thanks to increased software sales provided by Nintendo Switch Lite users.
Boomberg reports that analysts predicted a 50.5 billion yen operating income for Nintendo, but the company has now revealed that it generated 66.8 billion yen ($615 million). Sales generated 271.9 billion yen, exceeding predictions of 250.8 billion.
Nintendo has set itself profit projections for the whole year, ending March 2020, that are notably below analyst estimates: 260 billion yen is forecast, despite analyst predictions of 308.1 billion yen and a series of strong upcoming games such as Pokemon Sword and Shield. The strong second quarter report has not caused Nintendo to increase that forecast.

Doctor Sleep: How Do You Make a Sequel to The Shining?
It's one of Hollywood's most famous splits in opinion: Stanley Kubrick turns Stephen King's The Shining into a horror masterpiece, but King himself hates it. As you'd expect, King's sequel reflects none of the film's changes – which is what makes the film version of Doctor Sleep so fascinating.
Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House, Gerald's Game) has released a film that serves, somehow, as a follow-up to both the book and movie versions of The Shining. Even more impressive, he got Stephen King's permission to do so. I sat down with Flanagan and his longtime producer Trevor Macy to get the story of how this unlikely adaptation was made.
Story Subject of Benioff and Weiss’ Canceled Star Wars Trilogy Revealed
In the wake of Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss stepping away from their Star Wars trilogy, new details surrounding the project have come to light. Variety reports that the intended focus of their series of movies was going to be the origin of the Jedi.
“The ‘Star Wars’ period the pair was interested in exploring was how the Jedi came to exist,” reads Variety’s report.
House of the Dragon: Rewatch GRRM and Ryan Condal’s Deep-Dive on Fantasy
Back in February 2016, I had the opportunity of a lifetime where I got to travel to George R.R. Martin's theater in Santa Fe, N.M. and host a conversation between him and his friend, Colony co-creator Ryan Condal, as part of a special screening and Q&A for Condal's then-new USA series.
Who would have known then that, three-and-a-half years later, Condal and Martin would officially team up for a new Game of Thrones series, House of the Dragon, which Condal will co-showrun with GoT director Miguel Sapochnik?

Star Wars: Why Did Benioff and Weiss Really Exit?
In a week of major entertainment news, few stories have stood out more than the announcement that David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have stepped away from their planned series of Star Wars films. In a statement released to Deadline, the duo chalked up their departure to a very busy schedule and their overall deal with Netflix. “There are only so many hours in the day, and we felt we could not do justice to both Star Wars and our Netflix projects,” they said. “So we are regretfully stepping away.”
Hollywood Executives Share Disagreements on Value of Marvel Films
While the streaming and box office wars continue, some of Hollywood’s biggest executives came together for a rare roundtable interview with The Hollywood Reporter, and with Disney’s Marvel movies’ continued domination, feelings run a little hot.
When THR reporter Matthew Belloni asked if, like American Idol, there would come a point where it wasn’t “cool” to watch Marvel movies, Disney Studios CCO Alan Horn pushed back.
“The answer is no,” Horn told THR. “If the film has a compelling storyline, if it has heart and humor, two things that I insist on, and it's terrifically well executed, I think there is an audience. But who knows?
