Sonic The Hedgehog Movie Reveals Official Redesign

A new trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie has been released, offering a first look at the spikey speedster following his extensive character redesign.

Sonic's makeover appears to be more consistent with the character's classic video game look, as the VFX artists have removed the realistic elements of the CGI-animated hedgehog's original design and replaced them with the more exaggerated features that Sega fans will be familiar with.

You can check out quite what a big difference that is by using the comparison slider below:

"Today is the DAY! Could not be more excited to share our new Sonic with you. THANK YOU for your patience and support. This wouldn't have been possible without the fans," director Jeff Fowler tweeted alongside the trailer on Tuesday morning.

The Mandalorian Episode 1 Ending Explained

This article contains full spoilers for the Season 1 premiere of The Mandalorian. Read our spoiler-free review of The Mandalorian episode 1

A baby Yoda? Well, it's definitely a baby from the same species as Yoda. The shocking ending of The Mandalorian episode 1 raises galactic-sized questions about how this little green bundle of joy will impact the Star Wars universe. Read on as we try to explain the significance of another member of Yoda's race appearing in The Mandalorian episode 1.

Who Is Baby Yoda?

As Star Wars fans know, Yoda was a powerful Jedi Master who trained countless padawan learners to become Jedi Knights. Star Wars creator George Lucas has never openly revealed Yoda's species/race, which has given him an almost mythical persona over the years. All that we really know about Yoda's past is that he trained Jedi for over 800 years and stands at a measly 0.66 meters in height, according to the official Star Wars databank.

The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Concept Art Reveals New Costumes

A new documentary on Disney+ has revealed concept art for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, showing off new costumes for the whole core cast.

Marvel Studios: Expanding the Universe is a 12 minute documentary that launched on Disney+ last night in the US, which explores how Marvel intends on bringing its characters and universe to the small screen. During one segment, concept art and images were shown for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, including new looks at The Falcon and Bucky’s new costumes, Baron Zemo in his iconic purple mask, and new character John Walker, AKA U.S. Agent.

The Winter Soldier/Falcon concept artThe documentary does not explicitly claim that these are final designs, but what we can see demonstrates a subtle new look for Bucky and a more notable rework of The Falcon’s costume. Notably, Sam’s new threads appear closer to his traditional comic costume, and Bucky is looking a little tidier thanks to a haircut. These images provide better looks at costumes we first saw in a poster handed out at D23 expo, which does suggest they are the final designs.

Kevin Feige Confirms Rumors of Ike Perlmutter’s Opposition to MCU Diversity

In an interview with THR’s Awards Chatter podcast, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter had previously pushed back on Feige’s efforts to expand the diversity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, confirming rumors of Perlmutter’s long-time obstinance.

Perlmutter, who became chairman of Marvel in 2001, then CEO of Marvel Comics in 2005, has previously come under fire for, according to Financial Times, reportedly making racist comments. There's also his considerable financial support of Donald Trump, according to LA Mag. Perlmutter was also infamously frugal with budgets, according to Variety. In 2015, Disney ordered a switch to the chain of command, allowing Feige to report directly to Disney chief Alan Horn. Just last October, Disney promoted Feige to Chief Creative Officer for all film, TV, and comic publishing ventures of Marvel.
