Marvel’s Runaways: Season 3 Will Be an ‘Emotional’ Final Ride

Marvel's Runaways has found its way back home, as Season 3's new trailer came with the announcement that these next 10 episodes, premiering December 13 on Hulu, will be the show's last.

An adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona's critically-acclaimed comic series, Runaways was ushered to the screen by executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage - the duo behind The O.C., Gossip Girl, Hulu's current Looking for Alaska, and more.

With the news of Season 3 being the series' final bow, I reached out to both Schwartz and Savage about these remaining episodes and what it was like for them bring Cloak and Dagger, from the Marvel Freeform series, into the mix while also wrapping up this sensational, spawning saga of rebellious teens, conflicted parents, life-sucking aliens, and - now - Elizabeth Hurley as Marvel's nefarious Morgan le Fay.

Explaining Last Night’s Big Watchmen Surprise

Full spoilers follow for HBO's Watchmen through Episode 5, "Little Fear of Lightning."

HBO's Watchmen series is specifically a sequel to the original comic book, not the 2009 movie version. Most of the time, that distinction makes little difference, as the movie mostly follows the plot of the comic very closely. However, the two versions diverge in one very important way - the alien squid monster.

With Watchmen's fifth episode delving even more deeply into the squid monster and the long-term effects of Ozymandias' plot, as well as how it affected the character of Wade "Looking Glass" Tillman (Tim Blake Nelson), we figured now was the perfect time for a refresher on all things squid. Read on to learn why the endings of the comic and movie differ and why the squid monster continues to play such a major role in the HBO series.

A $0.05 Component Delayed the PS3

If you've ever wondered why the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 launched so far apart, one big reason was a shortage of a very small component that only cost Sony around $0.05 per unit.

In this month's episode of IGN Unfiltered, Ryan McCaffrey sat down with former PlayStation executive (and current Google VP) Phil Harrison to talk about the PlayStation 3 release schedule, as well as Harrison's time at Sony, Microsoft, Google, and much more.

While the Xbox 360 originally launched in November of 2005, the PlayStation 3 wouldn't hit store shelves until a full year later in November of 2006, leaving many fans wondering why Sony would give Microsoft a full year head start on the HD generation of consoles.

New Patent Reveals PlayStation 5 Controller Design

A new patent filed by Sony Interactive Entertainment shows what appears to be the PlayStation 5’s controller.

As first spotted by VGC, the patent was published on the Japanese Patent Office website today, noting that the patent has been issued. The illustrations in the patent show a controller that is largely identical to the DualShock 4 used for the PS4, albeit with a few significant alterations.

The body of the controller appears to be slightly larger/chunkier than that of the DualShock 4, with grips more akin to the shape of the Xbox’s controller, rather than the almost tube-like shape of the ones on the DS4. The light bar has been removed, and a USB-C port added. The triggers also appear a little bigger than those on the DS4.
