Where Is Our Shenmue 3 Review?

After nearly two decades, Shenmue 3 is actually out today. Wild! So why don’t we have a review up?

We only recently received review copies of Shenmue 3 from publisher Deep Silver, and not nearly in time to have a review ready for you all by today’s release. But rest assured we are working on one at this very moment, and expect to have it for your viewing pleasure by early next week – maybe late this week if it turns out to be shorter than we’ve heard it is.

Additionally, you may have heard rumblings that the Shenmue 3 review embargo was actually set for two days after its release today, but the review embargo we agreed to lifted at launch this morning. It’s IGN’s policy to never knowingly agree to a post-launch embargo, and Deep Silver has said that the embargo with a two-day delay reported by some was the unintentional result of a miscommunication that has since been remedied.

Gears 5 Was Inspired By Super Mario Galaxy

Gears 5 developer The Coalition took from Super Mario Galaxy when figuring out how to make its hardcore Xbox One shooter appeal to a broader audience.

GI.biz. reports that, speaking at the Montreal International Game Summit today, The Coalition’s studio head Rod Fergusson revealed how Gears 5’s robot support character Jack was inspired by the Nintendo Wii platformer.

In Super Mario Galaxy, a second player can join in by using the Wii Remote to pick up star bits and fire them at enemies, making it easier for the first player to deal with them. The second player doesn’t need the platforming skill of the first player to join in the fun.

Frozen 2: Everything You Need to Know Before the Sequel

Frozen became a smash-hit for Disney when it was released in 2013. The female empowerment story turned the idea of what a Disney film could be on its head and reinvigorated the studio's animation division. The Oscar-winning computer-animated flick introduced fans to Elsa and Anna, a pair of sisters whose strange, isolated life is torn apart after the death of their parents. Elsa's journey of self-discovery quickly made Frozen a cultural phenomenon and the fact that it was filled with catchy songs and adult-friendly jokes that were reminiscent of a Pixar film didn't hurt either.

Now over half a decade later, Anna, Elsa, Sven, Kristoff, and Olaf are returning to the big screen in Frozen 2. In case you didn't check out the rebel of the Disney Princess family when it was first released, or if you just need a primer on the original, you can catch up on everything you need to know about the beautiful modern fairy tale right here!

Christian Bale: Fourth Nolan Batman Film Would’ve Been ‘Overindulgent’

Christian Bale has revealed that Warner Bros. originally pitched a fourth Batman film to succeed Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, though he ultimately decided to hang up his cape.

In a recent interview with the Toronto Sun, Bale reflected on his time as Batman in the Dark Knight trilogy, as he explained the reason why he turned down the studio's offer of a fourth film, saying he refused the part out of respect for Nolan.

"We were never arrogant to assume that we had an opportunity beyond one film at a time," Bale told the outlet. "That's something that Chris always would talk about. He'd say, 'This is it. We're making one film. That's all we've got. Then when they came and said, 'You want to go make another?' It was fantastic, but we still said, 'This is it. We will not get another opportunity.'"
