Watchmen: Explaining the Confusing Ozymandias Timeline
Full spoilers follow for Season 1 of HBO's Watchmen.
HBO's Watchmen series is full of mysteries and puzzle boxes, and few characters are more confounding and mysterious than Ozymandias. It was only three episodes in that we even got hard confirmation Jeremy Irons has been playing Adrian Veidt. And even then, his story has been unfolding to the side of the other main characters. It can be difficult to nail down just when the Veidt scenes are taking place and get a full picture of what's happened to the character in the years between the original comic and the events of 2019.
But with the release of the Season 1 finale (and thanks to the always helpful resource that is Peteypedia), many of the missing pieces have fallen into place. Read on for a full breakdown of Watchmen's Ozymandias timeline, from 1985 to 2019.

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising Movie Is Coming to Theaters Next Year
My Hero Academia’s second movie is on its way to over 1,000 theaters in North America in early 2020, Funimation announced. The exact screening dates weren't announced, but there will be showings for subbed and dubbed versions of My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising in Canada and the U.S.
This second film once again puts Deku and the rest of his class in charge of saving the day, this time in a new place called Nabu Island. We don't know exactly where this film fits into the My Hero Academia timeline, but we do know that All Might is already in retirement and that Shigaraki may have something to do with the film's new villain.
Heroes Rising is the second My Hero Academia film and may be the final one. Maybe. Creator Kohei Horikoshi, who is overseeing the production of Heroes Rising, said in July that this film will be more 'Plus Ultra" than the first and that there probably won't be a third. The first, Two Heroes, and received a 7.7 from IGN.
Star Trek: Picard Renewed for Season 2 Before Premiere
Star Trek: Picard, the upcoming CBS All-Access show that continues the story of Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Captain Jean-Luc Picard, has reportedly been renewed before the season one premiere has even aired.
Deadline reports that a second season is all but officially confirmed thanks to the revelation that over $20.4 million in California tax incentives have been allocated to the Alex Kurtzman-led project. CBS has refused to comment on any plans for a second season, but that money trail certainly suggests something big. For comparison, the first season was awarded $15.6 million this time last year, which certainly paints a picture of a second season being put in place.
There Were Other Names Considered for God of War
The iconic God of War franchise, and the main character Kratos, originally had very different names according to ex-Sony Santa Monica exec Stig Asmussen.
In this month's episode of IGN Unfiltered (the full episode airs tomorrow), Ryan McCaffrey sat down with Respawn's Stig Asmussen to talk about his time at Sony Santa Monica, the history of blockbuster PlayStation exclusive God of War, the recently-released Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and much more.
"In terms of the name Kratos, there's an interesting story," Asmussen said, "David Jaffe, who was the director on God of War, put it out to the team, 'Hey, anybody got any cool ideas for what the name of this character could be?' and everybody would just send emails... and then those emails would be forwarded over to marketing, and they kind of picked who they thought the top choices would be."
Superman: Red Son – Exclusive Movie Trailer
IGN is excited to debut the first trailer for Superman: Red Son, the 38th entry in the DC Universe Original Movies lineup.
Watch the trailer in the player above or by clicking the video below:
Superman: Red Son is based on DC's classic 2003 Elseworlds comic by Mark Millar. The story takes place in an alternate reality where the spaceship carrying Kal-El lands in Stalinist Russia instead of the Kents' farm in Kansas, resulting in a Man of Steel who's not so concerned with the American way.
The new film features the voice talents of Jason Isaacs as Kal-El, Amy Acker as Lois Lane, Diedrich Bader as Lex Luthor, Phil Morris as James Olsen, Phil LaMarr as John Stewart, Vanessa Marshall as Wonder Woman, Sasha Roiz as Hal Jordan, Roger Craig Smith as Batman, Paul Williams as Braniac, and William Salyers as Joseph Stalin.
The Best VPN for Disney+ in the UK
Disney+ launched in November for the US, Canada, The Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand. The UK is notably absent from this list, with Disney indicating that the service won't be reaching our screens until March 31, 2020. While March 2020 isn't the longest wait for fans, the situation isn't ideal for those who want to watch the latest Star Wars content and avoid any spoilers.
All hope is not lost though, and after some testing, we've found that there is a clear workaround to accessing Disney+ content in the UK. There are a few extra hurdles to overcome, so read on to find out how you can watch the latest episodes of The Mandalorian alongside the rest of the Disney+ content library.
