Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Is Getting a 3v3 Gunfight Mode

It’s a new year and Infinity Ward offered a quick update on what players can expect from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2020. While the developers didn’t reveal too many specifics, Infinity Ward announced that a 3v3 version of Gunfight will be coming in the future. Infinity Ward rolled out a Gunfight 1v1 playlist this week but said that it was working on Gunfight 3v3 as well. The developers previously said 3v3 was in the cards back in December, but now the Infinity Ward blog confirmed this as well. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-ign-call-of-duty-review&captions=true"] Gunfight is a new mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare where teams of two battle it out on a map with randomized weapons. One quirk of the Gunfight mode is how there are no respawns, so if you are killed you have to sit out for the rest of the round. The first team to six wins takes the game. Gunfight began with a 2v2 mode, but a 1v1 mode was introduced and soon there will be a 3v3 mode. Additionally, Infinity Ward says it will be adding more loadout slots over the coming weeks, increasing the current limit of five. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/11/01/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-review"] Other announcements from today’s community update include more Gunfight Tournaments, more 2XP events, and some bug fixes. The developer says it will keep updating players with regular bug fixes, patch notes, and behind the scenes blogs in 2020. This New Arcade Game Is Like Time Crisis but With Real Airsoft Guns

I grew up playing light gun games like Area: 51 and Time Crisis in my local arcade. Before them, I pointed a large grey zapper at a sizzling CRT playing Duck Hunt with my cousins. Needless to say, I'm no stranger to arcade guns, but I've never played an arcade shooter quite like this. At CES 2020, I got to try out On Point, a new arcade game from Taito and UNIS that plays a lot like the Time Crises of my youth, except it uses actual airsoft pellet guns. The game features a vertically oriented 55-inch screen down range from a tube-fed airsoft gun. The gun feels weighty in your hands, with realistic kickback and, at least on the unit I played, accurate iron sights. For safety, since this is a live-firing weapon, there's cameras and sensors in both the gun and on the screen to ensure that the gun won't shoot unless it's pointed at the screen. There's also a sensor to keep it from shooting if a person is detected (in case someone decides to jump in front of you), and for further safety, the final production unit will have safety walls to further keep interlopers out of the line of fire. There's a variety of game modes, including breaking (virtual) bottles and plates, an accuracy-testing bulls-eye mode, and a police-trainer score attack course. A soft-plastic barrier prevents the pellets from damaging the video screen, with a collection tray below to automatically feed ammo back into the gun. On Point was released in Japan last year, and is scheduled to start shipping to arcades stateside in March of this year. Snake Eyes Origin Movie Will Reveal Masked G.I. Joe’s Face

The Snake Eyes origin movie has started production and star Henry Golding revealed that the upcoming movie will explore the human side of the G.I. Joe character. That means going behind the mask and diving deeper into how the character becomes the famous ninja operative. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/01/10/snake-eyes-henry-golding-on-why-its-important-to-show-him-without-his-mask"] During a press junket in Japan, Golding told the press that it’s important to see Snake Eyes’ face in the movie. “For us to never really see what’s beneath the mask it always missed something,” Golding said. “Snake Eyes was always seen as a weapon, as almost an inanimate object. But when you get to see someone’s eyes as a weapon, as almost an inanimate object. But when you get to see someone’s eyes you get to see that past, their future, the personality behind that.” snake_eyes Golding revealed that the origin movie will explore this human aspect of the character and will take place somewhere at the beginning of Snake Eyes’ career and “see how he progresses and how develops" as a human. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=snake-eyes-movie-every-confirmed-actor-and-character&captions=true"] Snake Eyes is being directed by Robert Schwntke. Aside from Golding as Snake Eyes, the movie will star Andrew Koji as his Cobra rival Storm Shadow, Iko Uwais as Hard Master, Ursula Corbero as Baroness, and Samara Weaving as Scarlett. This is the first G.I Joe film since 2013’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Snake Eyes is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 23, 2020. CD Projekt Red Confirms Cyberpunk 2077 for Current Gen Consoles, But Next-Gen Is Likely

Cyberpunk 2077 will be out in just a few months for current-gen consoles. But that doesn’t mean CD Projekt Red has completely written off next-gen hardware. In an alleged DM to a fan, the developer confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t limited to current-gen hardware, although it is the primary focus. Reddit user Astro4545 posted a screenshot of a private message correspondence they had with CD Projekt Red over Twitter. In it, they asked the developer that since new consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are expected sometime this year whether Cyberpunk 2077 might be a cross-gen game. The studio responded, “Possibly, however current generation is our main focus [at the moment].” [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/08/27/cyberpunk-2077-gameplay-demo"] IGN reached out to CD Projekt Red but was told by the developers that they “do not have any comments regarding the topic.” It should be noted that speculation regarding Cyberpunk 2077 being a cross-gen game has been floating around since last year. And it’s not like Cyberpunk 2077 won’t support next-gen features. Nvidia announced that the company partnered with CD Projekt Red to bring ray tracing technology into the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077. And ray tracing is supposedly a big feature for next-gen consoles like the PS5 and Series X. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=updated-62-cyberpunk-2077-gameplay-details&captions=true"] Ultimately, Cyberpunk 2077 is just a few months away from launch on current-gen consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. CD Projekt has also stated that focus is on the immediate launch and current-gen hardware. Check out our many Cyberpunk 2077 previews and guides for more coverage on the upcoming sci-fi RPG.
