Margot Robbie Says Her Harley Quinn Wouldn’t Click with Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker
Though it's already established that Todd Phillips' Oscar-nominated Joker has no connection to the current slate of Warner Bros.'s DC Extended Universe, it doesn't stop fans from wondering how Joaquin Phoenix's Arthur Fleck, and his murderous machinations as the Joker, might fit in with that cinematic world.
The DCEU's Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie in 2017's Suicide Squad and the upcoming Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), has a history with the Joker played by Jared Leto...but would she gel well with Phoenix's Fleck? During an interview with the U.K.'s Capital FM, Robbie gave her thoughts on this hypothetical pairing.
"I think they exist in two very different worlds," she said. "Todd Phillips's Gotham and this Gotham [are] very different. I don't know how you'd bridge that gap."
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=birds-of-prey-movie-images&captions=true"]
"She'd drive him insane," Robbie continued. "She'd be on the other side of the fridge, like 'here.' 'J-puddin, whatcha doin?' And he’s like ‘'I just need a minute, I’m going through a lot of s***.’"
The first reactions from those who saw an advance screening of Birds of Prey praised the actions scenes along with stars Margot Robbie and Ewan McGregor while Robbie also recently explained why Black Mask was the villain of the piece and not Joker.

Always Sunny Star Has the Perfect Response to Lethal Weapon 5 News
A fews days ago, producer Dan Lin (EP on the Lethal Weapon TV series) revealed that a fifth and "final" Lethal Weapon movie is close to happening, with original stars Mel Gibson and Danny Glover on board to reunite with series director Richard Donner.
Following the news, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Rob McElhenney saw IGN's Twitter post about the news and use it to write the perfect comment...
As Sunny fans know, back in 2010, in Always Sunny's sixth season, The Gang made their own Lethal Weapon 5 and screened it for a high school class in "Dee Reynolds: Shaping America's Youth." Then, in Season nine, the Lethal-ness continued in "The Gang Makes Lethal Weapon 6," as Dennis and Mac's production of a sixth Lethal Weapon movie was halted when Frank stopped paying for the production. The official Always Sunny Twitter account even got in on the action here...Sorry boys. Already handled this one. https://t.co/TSajSA5XJE
— Rob McElhenney (@RMcElhenney) January 31, 2020
The first rumors about Lethal Weapon 5 surfaced in 2008, when Shane Black had planned to direct Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh's next adventure. However, after several rumoured changes, the project was squashed in 2012 when Donner revealed that Gibson turned down a reprisal of his role. F9: Fast and Furious Trailer Finally Delivers Justice for Han
The first trailer for F9 delivers a big shock for Fast and Furious fans: Han is back. Even though his supposed death in a fiery car crash has been shown three times on-screen -- in Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious 6, and Furious 7 -- the final moments of the trailer show Han walking into the Toretto family’s base of operations, casually quipping and eating a snack like it’s no big deal that he’s back and looking better than ever.
Check out the trailer below:
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/01/31/f9-fast-furious-9-official-trailer-1"]
Han Lue, played by Sung Kang, was a fan-favorite character who became one of the franchise’s most tragic and controversial figures due to a series of topsy turvy plot twists. The sixth installment revealed that Jason Statham’s villainous Deckard Shaw was the one responsible for Han’s death, but then fans recoiled in horror when Fate of the Furious pivoted Shaw to a redeemable hero. To pour salt in the wound, even though Shaw murdered Han, he was forgiven by Dominic Toretto and invited to enjoy a Corona with the family, which saw fans revolt with the #JusticeForHan hashtag on social media. Fan anger only swelled when Han's murderer was featured in the franchise spin-off movie Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
Now, it seems, franchise vet and director Justin Lin is looking to address all of that by showing what really happened to Han.
A set of character posters for the F9 cast was revealed a few days ago when the trailer was first teased, and now a new poster featuring Han has been added:
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=f9-character-posters&captions=true"]
Kang made a surprise appearance at the pre-Super Bowl trailer premiere and concert event in Miami, and there he told the Los Angeles Times a bit about what this version of Han is like.
“[Director Justin Lin and I] know who and what Han is,” Kang said. “And we’re older now. This Han is older. The things that we learned as men in our personal lives, I hope it can transcend on-screen.”
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-major-fast-and-furious-character&captions=true"]
Kang wouldn’t reveal precisely how Han comes back, but he did say that everything ties back into the franchise’s theme of “family,” adding, “I hope we do it justice.” Kang acknowledged that he's aware of the surge of fan support for his character, and the trailer seems equally aware of the #JusticeForHan movement with its closing promise, "Justice is coming."
It may seem unbelievable for Han to have survived that explosion, but remember this is a franchise that has no qualms about playing fast and loose with its continuity. In Fast and Furious, Michelle Rodriguez’s Letty seemingly died in similar fashion to Han -- a fiery car crash -- but that didn’t stop her from making a return (with amnesia!) in Fast & Furious 6. Han doesn’t seem to have amnesia given how he embraces Dom in a brotherly hug, so we’ll have to wait and see what his deal is when Fast 9 hits on May 22.

Coronavirus Outbreak Forces Taipei Game Show Delay
The Taipei Game Show in Taiwan has been postponed due to the outbreak of the Wuhan coronavirus. The event organizers have not announced when the replacement dates for the event.
According to a report by VG247, the organizers for the Taipei Game Show sent over a list of precautions to attendees for the show including temperature checks and mandatory mask requirements.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/11/27/the-first-16-minutes-of-persona-3-dancing-in-moonlight"]
Following the warnings, the organizers decided to cancel the event altogether. The show was originally scheduled to run from February 6 to February 9 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center in Taiwan.
“We are deeply sorry to announce the difference decision from our committee,” said the organizers in a statement. “However, due to the serious outbreak of Wuhan coronavirus, we have decided to postpone the event to this summer.”
The coronavirus has infected over 9,000 people and killed 213. The World Health Organization has declared the virus a global health emergency.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/06/09/elden-ring-official-reveal-trailer-e3-2019"]
The Taipei Game Show has been held since 2003, and there were some exciting developments including how Sony would host a PlayStation booth at the event and how Bandai Namco was set to drop some potential Elden Ring information.
There’s no word yet on how the delay would affect any potential announcements.

Ouch: Doctor Doom Just Curb-Stomped Ultron
Doctor Doom may put on the air of a dignified, regal leader, but anyone in the Marvel Universe knows that he’s a vile scumbag who would do anything to come out on top. Remember that time he let demons skin his beloved ex in exchange for magical armor made from that skin? Well, now he’s sunk to a new low in Avengers of the Wastelands #1 by writer Ed Brisson and artist Jonas Scharf.
Warning: full spoilers ahead!
[poilib element="accentDivider"]
Avengers of the Wastelands is a five-part mini-series that takes place in the future, post-apocalyptic world of Old Man Logan. Most heroes are long dead, hunted down and killed by all of Marvel’s villains who finally got organized enough to overthrow the good guys and take over the world. After Logan killed the Red Skull, things got marginally better, with several legacy characters picking up the mantles of old heroes to help pave the way for a better future. But it wasn’t long before a new threat rose in the form of Doctor Doom, who in this first chapter has been leading his army across the wastelands, wiping out entire settlements one at a time.
In a demonstration of just how bad Doom can be, we watch as Doom makes his way to a garage where Ultron-8 was working, insults him for losing his way, and violently stomps his metal boot through his mouth. Doom kicks in Ultron-8’s face so hard it separated his head from his body.
[caption id="attachment_229594" align="aligncenter" width="604"]
Art by Jonas Scharf. (Image credit: Marvel Comics)[/caption]
While not the original Ultron, Ultron-8 is one of his many copies and has all of his originator’s strengths and abilities. However, he gained a sense of humanity and became like a husband to Tonya Barton and a father to Ashley Barton. The world of Old Man Logan is essentially an exercise in just how bad things can get in the Marvel Universe without its heroes around, which is why the loss of Ultron-8 is especially upsetting for fans. He was a rare bright light in an otherwise dismal place, showing how even when evil is expected of you, you can make the choice to be something good instead.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2014/09/16/top-25-marvel-villains"]
The rest of the issue sees Doom continue his rampage in pursuit of the new Ant-Man, who unknowingly leads him to a secret settlement of heroes. However, the heroes are able to repel Doom’s forces, in large part thanks to Danielle Cage, daughter of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones, who now wields Mjolnir and uses the power of the God of Thunder to smite his army. When she finally makes her way to Doom and smacks him in the head with her hammer, it’s revealed to be a robotic decoy Doombot, meaning the real Doctor Doom is somewhere else entirely -- and probably up to no good. The issue closes with Captain America -- inexplicably alive and well -- showing up to help out.
In the original Old Man Logan series, Steve Rogers was dead and Bucky was operating as Captain America when the villains took over. Red Skull killed Bucky, and we assumed that in this timeline that Steve never came back to life like in normal continuity. If this is indeed Steve finally returned, just how he resurrected is a story that's begging to be told. But regardless of who he is, it seems likely he will be the one who assembles these new heroes to form the Avengers of the Wastelands -- and hopefully avenge poor Ultron-8.
