Robert Downey Jr. Reveals the Other Avenger He Would Like to Have Played

Obviously, at this point, it's impossible to imagine star Robert Downey Jr. playing anyone else but Tony Stark/Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tony was the jumping off point for the franchise and that character's fate in Avengers: Endgame capped off a decade-long saga. But if Downey Jr. could have played someone else in the MCU, who would it have been? While promoting his latest movie, Dolittle, the actor sat for BBC 1 Radio and answered questions from kids - ranging from "What was the best birthday party you've ever had?" to "Have you ever peed in a swimming pool?" William, age 10, however asked Downey Jr. if we wasn't Iron Man, which superhero he'd like to be. The answer was "I can’t think of any red-blooded American boy that didn’t imagine themselves as Spider-Man growing up." "However," Downey Jr. added, "looking back on it now —- also because I’m just such a Jeremy Renner fan, and he made it so cool, particularly when he turns into Ronin [in Avengers: Endgame] —- I would say Hawkeye would be my go-to.” [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=marvel-cinematic-universe-every-upcoming-movie-and-tv-show&captions=true"] The next stop in the MCU is Black Widow, due out May 1, featuring Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff returning to her clandestine assassin roots to battle the mysterious Taskmaster. Ewan McGregor’s Uncle, Who Played Wedge Antilles, Didn’t Want Him to Play Obi-Wan

With Birds of Prey opening this weekend, and news that the Star Wars Obi-Wan series on Disney+ was having its production delayed, star Ewan McGregor's been in the news quite a bit recently. And while fans can't wait for him to reprise his Star Wars prequel role as Obi-Wan Kenobi, McGregor told TODAY host Willie Geist, for PEOPLE, that his uncle, actor Denis Lawson, who played rebel pilot Wedge Antilles in the original Star Wars trilogy (and had a fun cameo in The Rise of Skywalker) had been less than enthusiastic about McGregor originally accepting the role of the Jedi master - even advising the actor not to take the part. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=31-celebrity-cameos-in-the-star-wars-sequel-trilogy&captions=true"] “[Denis] was always really dismissive of it," McGregor explained, "because he did a couple of weeks work, sitting in a cardboard spaceship… and yet he had this massive following. It sort of annoyed him.” When McGregor was considering the role of Obi-Wan, Denis "was one of the people who said, ‘Don’t do it, don’t do it, don’t do it,” McGregor said. “And then the nearer I got to it, the more I wanted to do it.” [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=obi-wans-greatest-moments&captions=true"] For more on Obi-Wan Kenobi, check out everything we know about the series and see the moment when the long-awaited show was revealed during the D23 Expo 2019. Vin Diesel Wants This Oscar Winner in the Fast and Furious Franchise

The trailer for Fast 9 (F9) not only introduced the world to John Cena's Jakob Toretto and revealed that Sung Kang's Han was still alive, but it reminded us all that -- oh yeah! -- Oscar-winner Charlize Theron was also still a part of this saga, as her villainous hacker, Cipher, didn't get killed off or captured at the end of The Fate of the Furious. With the franchise notably featuring two Academy Award winners, Theron and Dame Helen Mirren (who also appeared in spinoff Hobbs and Shaw), MTV International asked star Vin Diesel if there were any other acclaimed actors he'd love to bring into the "family." Diesel's reply, when it comes to a "bucket list" celebrity to bring into the fold was "Dame Judi Dench." "I think she'd be awesome," he said in a British accent. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/01/31/f9-fast-furious-9-official-trailer-1"] Before you throw this idea away as an impossible dream, consider that Diesel co-starred with Oscar-winner Dench in 2004's The Chronicles of Riddick, and that she's done popcorn action fare from seven Bond movies to 2011's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. And, of course...Cats. Vin Diesel also recently hinted that Fast 10 could be split into two films, potentially marking the conclusion of the Fast saga. For more on F9, find out why Justin Lin decided to bring back Han Lue amid the popular #JusticeForHan fan campaign, take a look at the poster for the ninth entry, and watch the Big Game Spot trailer for the film. New Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 Details Leak

A slew of new details about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s season 2 have leaked, and the culprit is none other than the official Call of Duty website.

Spotted by Eurogamer, the information was quickly removed after being published to Call of Duty’s site, but that didn’t stop the internet from grabbing every morsel of information, including details on season 2’s battle pass.

Perhaps the most notable addition to season 2 of Call of Duty’s multiplayer is what appears to be fan-favorite map Rust, the tight spiritual successor to Shipment set in a sandswept oil rig in Afghanistan. We catch a quick glimpse of the map in a video spotted in the leak. You can spot that video here.

Call of Duty news site CharlieIntel also discovered an AR card depicting Rust in all its glory, adding weight to the suspicions that the map will return.

Two new guns are coming to the already wide arsenal of weapons, too, and it looks like SMG fans will feel the most appreciated here. The GRAU 5.56 is described as “lightweight, maneuverable and full of potential” while the STRIKER 45 is “hard-hitting and long-range SMG,” something that will make those longer sightlines even more treacherous. weapons

If you didn’t happen to hear, Activision’s Q4 earnings report indicated that Call of Duty is earning more money from its newly-implemented battle pass system, following the removal of its previous season pass and loot box systems. No surprise, Activision and Infinity Ward are continuing with season 2’s battle pass. According to the leaked information, it’ll be an identical 100-tier system that you can buy access to with 1,000 COD Points (certain tiers are free), or you could spring for the 2,400 COD Point version that will let you skip past 20 tiers immediately.

According to one image of the season 2 battle pass, you’ll be able to earn “up to” 1,300 COD Points, which would let you buy the next season’s battle pass essentially for free, so long as you’re willing to put in the time.

A slew of other additions are on the way, including a new Ghost operator skin, based on the much-loved character design from Modern Warfare 2. Ghost is rocking that classic skull balaclava, though if I may say so, his choice of face wear looks even creepier on modern day consoles.

ghost According to the leaked information, tier 100 is a special version of Ghost wearing what looks like a hood and gear designed for desert engagements. ghost 2

We’re getting an assortment of other new operator skins for previously established characters, including for Minotaur, Zane, and at least a couple others. New weapon blueprints are on the way as well, including this nifty western-themed skin for the MK2 carbine.

Beyond that, a slew of smaller additions, like more sprays, XP tokens, and other cosmetic goodies look to be available in the season 2 battle pass.

In other Activision news, the company is planning on releasing “several” remasters in 2020. Activision Blizzard has also signed an exclusive streaming deal with YouTube for all Call of Duty League and Overwatch League broadcasts. Netflix Reveals 9 Titles That Various Governments Made Them Remove

Netflix has released a list of movies and TV shows that various governments have demanded the streaming service to remove over the last five years. In its 2019 Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Report, the company disclosed the nine times content had to be removed from a country's Netflix listings due to government interference. 2020 already has a takedown with Netflix's comedy The Last Hangover removed from Singapore. The movie is a spoof of The Hangover where the apostles wake up after a night of partying to find Jesus missing. In 2019, the country also demanded the removal of Martin Scorsese's The Last Temptation of Christ after the movie was banned in Singapore in 2015, according to The Online Citizen. Singapore's last known removals were in 2018 when the country demanded three Netflix originals were taken off. The competition series Cooking on High, the documentary movie The Legend of 420 and the comedy series Disjointed were removed. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=59-movies-to-geek-out-over-in-2020&captions=true"] In 2019, a single episode of Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj titled "Saudi Arabia" was removed from Saudi Arabia's Netflix. The host of the show tackles the Saudi Arabian government's cover-up of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. "This is the most unbelievable cover story since Blake Shelton won sexiest man alive," Minhaj says in the special, according to NPR. Representatives of Vietnam demanded Netflix to remove Stanley Kubrick's Vietnam War movie Full Metal Jacket in 2017. That same year, Germany requested Night of the Living Dead to be removed from the service. Germany allowed the George Romero classic for years, but supposedly banned it due to a mistake. The country banned the 1990 remake and the 30th Anniversary Edition of the 1968 film, which had some scenes taken out and other material put in. The new version of the 1968 movie is banned, but the original 1968 cut apparently isn't. That's according to Schnittberichte.com, which was translated via Google Translate. Netflix seemingly confirms that this is the case. The report says on page 6 that Netflix took down the movie because a "version of the film is banned in the country." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/07/15/why-this-98-rated-horror-game-was-pulled-from-steam-ign-now"] Finally, New Zealand asked for the documentary "The Bridge" to be removed from the country's service in 2015. The filmmakers recorded more than a year of footage of the Golden Gate Bridge and caught 23 suicides on camera. They then interviewed some of the families and friends of the suicide victims that were identified in the footage. Netflix says that the film is classified as "objectionable" in New Zealand. This Netflix report comes a few months after Blizzard banned a Hearthstone player for vocalizing support for Hong Kong's liberation. A day after that incident, South Park was banned in China after the show aired an episode appropriately called "Band in China" where, among other things, a character is arrested in China for possession of marijuana and breaks a deal with the Chinese government to murder Winnie the Pooh so he can sell his weed in China and write a movie. In February 2019, the horror game Devotion was taken off Steam after a Winnie the Pooh joke was found in it. Months later, developer Red Candle Games said that Devotion will not be re-released after the joke "caused immeasurable harm to Red Candle Games and our partner."
