Final Fantasy 7 Fans React to Chocobo and Carbuncle Designs
Final Fantasy VII Remake is less than two months away, and Square Enix revealed a handful on new screenshots this morning showcasing Tifa's moves, side quests, and, most importantly, some adorable and oddly proportioned summons. Naturally, fans immediately went to work and began commenting on Chocobo Chick and Carbuncle's crazy designs, creating memes at the speed of light.
The Chocobo Chick is adorable and plump, shown sitting on its little tush with its Super Saiyan-like yellow hairdo sticking up even taller than Cloud's. Carbuncle's design was met with a more divided reception because, while the creature is cute, its forehead is more of a sevenhead, and a big ruby is just plopped right on there. A third summon, Cactuar, was shown off, but it looks exactly like anyone expected a Cactaur to look like in a Final Fantasy game.

Fans React to Final Fantasy 7 Remake's Chocobo Chick
Reactions to Chocobo Chick where generally positive, but fans poked fun at its big ol' head and spiky yellow hair reminiscent of Goku as a Super Saiyan, Cloud Strife himself, and even a certain Food Network star.

Fans React to Final Fantasy 7 Remake's Carbuncle
While some fans found Carbuncle's Garfield-esque look adorable, several were disappointed it wasn't more akin to its design from Final Fantasy XV, where its gem was turned into a small red horn.

(One) Fan Reacts to Final Fantasy 7 Remake's Cactuar
Because he couldn't just be left out like that, one fan decided to initiate Cactuar into the big head club with his buds.

The Batman: First Look at Robert Pattinson in Batsuit
Director Matt Reeves has given us our first look at Robert Pattinson in the batsuit for the upcoming The Batman, via a screentest video.
The director of the new take on the dark knight posted a camera test to Vimeo, revealing a deeply shadowed Pattinson in costume as Batman, include shots of his bat symbol, as well as the actor in the cowl. Watch the camera test below.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/02/13/the-batman-camera-test"]
While the footage itself is dark, moody, and only gives us a brief glimpse of this new take on Batman, we do get a close-up look of his chest emblem.
Take a look at the new bat symbol and Pattinson in the cowl below:

Reeves has been using social media to trickle out information about the upcoming film, which sees Pattinson don the cowl following Ben Affleck's take on Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Pattinson has discussed how he's already prepared for backlash to his portrayal of Batman.
In addition to sharing a The Batman set photo from the first day of filming, Reeves has revealed Colin Farrell will be playing The Penguin, John Tuturro is set to play Carmine Falcone, Andy Serkis taking on the mantle of Alfred, and more.

We know Zoe Kravitz will be in the film as Catwoman, as well as that Paul Dano will play The Riddler and Westworld actor Jeffrey Wright has been cast as Commissioner Gordon.
Late last year, Robert Pattinson described suiting up as Batman for the first time, later going on to describe the Batsuit as "pretty cool," without giving too much away about the design.
The Batman is set to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.

The Mighty Ducks: Emilio Estevez Returns as Coach Bombay for Disney+ Series
Emilio Estevez is officially returning as Coach Gordon Bombay in the 10-episode Disney+ series, The Mighty Ducks.
Estevez, who will also serve as executive producer on The Mighty Ducks, will join series regulars Lauren Graham and Brady Noon on the series that is set to premiere later this year.
Disney+'s Twitter shared a couple images from the production of The Mighty Ducks, which you can see below, of Estevez and some of the other cast members on the ice.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=emilio-estevez-returns-for-disneys-the-mighty-ducks&captions=true"]
“Once a Duck, always a Duck!,” said Emilio Estevez, “and after 25 years, I am delighted to lace up my skates, put on Coach Bombay's jacket and return to play the iconic character for this new chapter in ‘The Mighty Ducks’ franchise. Likewise, I am thrilled to return to my old stomping grounds with my friends at Disney and Steve Brill, the original creator of the franchise, to join them on their exciting new platform, Disney+.”
The Mighty Ducks takes place in present-day Minnesota and "the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan (Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom Alex (Graham) set out to build their own ragtag team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of competitive youth sports. With the help of Gordon Bombay (Estevez), they discover the joys of playing just for the love of the game."
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/01/22/the-mighty-ducks-tv-series-in-the-works-ign-news"]
Estevez made his acting debut in Tim Hunter's Tex and went on to star in such films as The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo's Fire.
The Mighty Ducks franchise began with the 1992 classic of the same name and saw two sequels - 1994's D2: The Mighty Ducks and 1996's D3: The Mighty Ducks.

Freddie Prinze Jr Shares the Story Behind Kanan’s Cameo in The Rise of Skywalker
While Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker had plenty of twists and turns, fans of the Star Wars Rebels animated series got a delightful surprise during Rey’s climactic confrontation with the Emperor: the voice of Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus was among the empowering chorus of Jedi giving our heroine a pep talk. IGN spoke with the voice of Kanan himself, Freddie Prinze Jr, about how he came to be a part of this special scene that not only brought in Kanan but also Ahsoka Tano, Mace Windu, and more for a cross-generational Jedi reunion.
Prinze said that the opportunity came his way when he got an innocuous phone call from Rebels creator and Star Wars animation mastermind Dave Filoni, asking if he was down to record some lines for Kanan just a few weeks before the release of The Rise of Skywalker. Rebels had concluded its four-season run in 2018, and Kanan heroically sacrificed himself in the final season, so being asked to record new lines signaled to Prinze that he was going in for something special.
“I was like, yeah, whatever you guys need. I always like to do that. And they were like, ‘okay, but this one might be a little different,’” Prinze recalled. “And so right away I was like, ‘oh, it's for the movie!’”
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-returning-jedi-cameo-in-star-wars-the-rise-of-skywalker&captions=true"]
Prinze clarified that he only went in to record voice lines and nothing beyond that. In the lead-up to the movie, rumors were swirling that actors were being brought in to film appearances as Force ghosts, but as we know now, that never came to fruition.
“[Director] JJ [Abrams] came in and kind of broke down the scene, and what was happening, and what was going on with Rey and what she was needing from the Jedi at that point, because the Force provides you with what you need - not the Jedi per se, it's the Force kind of dictating that,” he said.
Prinze was only privy to his character’s role in the scene, and though he knew that other Jedi actors were being given the exact same set of lines to record, he didn’t know the identity of any other voices in the scene until he sat down to watch the movie himself.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=star-wars-force-powers-you-probably-didnt-know-about&captions=true"]
Seeing (or in this case, hearing) characters from the animated shows in the live-action movies is pretty special, because it acknowledges that those beloved characters are truly a part of the Star Wars universe, unlike how Marvel kept Daredevil and the rest of the Defenders out of the MCU movies as if they didn’t exist. Star Wars Rebels has been referenced a few times on the big screen, like when Chopper made a cameo in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and the rebels' ship, the Ghost, was one of many that answered Lando’s call in The Rise of Skywalker. For Prinze, he views all Star Wars stories as different parts of the same entity, regardless of medium.
“Star Wars is Star Wars, whether it's a video game, whether it's a novel, whether it's a movie or a cartoon. ... It's all the same to me. They're all telling the same kind of story, and it's the same brain trust behind them,” he said.
Prinze was enthusiastic about getting to work with Filoni again, and he was brimming with excitement for what else Filoni and his team at Lucasfilm have in store for Star Wars fans.
“I believe in a lot of the people they have there [at Lucasfilm], and the types of stories they want to tell, just because they've told me the stories they want to tell. And I think they're great, and I can't wait to see more of this stuff in Dave's head get out there,” he teased, not offering any details on what he heard. “He's told me some of the best-- to where I felt like I was a kid and sitting on a pappy's knee, and they were hearing an old story. That's how good they are, and those haven't even been told yet. So they have a ton of work ahead of them, and it's all work that they're inspired by … But I love the direction they're going in, and I love Dave's influence over the brand at this point.”
In other news, Prinze revealed a new unscripted RPG game show that will be debuting on DC Universe called All-Star Games.

Batman: The Animated Series Continuation Coming in Comic Book Form
DC Comics is launching a new series set in the world of Batman: The Animated Series. The comic is called Batman: The Adventure Continues, brought to you by the same folks who worked on the beloved ‘90s cartoon, series writers and producers Paul Dini and Alan Burnett. The comic will be drawn by Ty Templeton, a name that fans will recognize as the artist of 1992’s Batman Adventures comic, which also told stories set in the B:TAS universe.
The series will feature DC characters never before seen in the original show, using designs from the recent action figure line. These characters were designed by Templeton in the signature Bruce Timm art style. While DC's press release doesn't name which new characters will appear, the line includes the likes of Deathstroke, Azrael, Red Hood, and The Batman Who Laughs, so any of them are fair game.
Check out the designs of those characters along with some artwork from the comic series in the slideshow gallery below.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=batman-the-adventure-continues-art-and-toys&captions=true"]
“Fans familiar with the Batman of The New Batman/Superman Adventures will be right up to speed,” Dini said in a statement. “Alan and I approached the writing with the idea that we were doing the season you might have seen if we had not put the series aside to do Batman Beyond.”
“Tim Drake is still a very young Robin,” Templeton said of the timing of the series. “Batman isn’t middle-aged or anything, and we’re not even close to the events of Batman Beyond.”
“What is different, however, is that we’re going back to cover certain gaps in the original series, events that didn’t have a bearing on the series at the time, but now do,” Burnett added. “In other words, there will be secret histories that will turn Batman’s world upside down. Things that no one knew were out there, until now.”
“Perhaps the most intriguing character in the run will be [a] young man whose story threads through most of the issues,” Burnett said. “He’s a smart, super-elusive loner who knows way too much about the Dark Knight. How this mystery man fits into the world of Batman Adventures and what he means to accomplish should, I hope, be a real jolt for old fans.”
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/01/31/the-10-best-batman-animated-movies"]
Batman: The Adventure Continues #1 will see Wayne Enterprises attacked by a giant robot that makes off with an entire laboratory in its gargantuan hands. It's up to Batman to find out who is controlling the robot, how he's going to stop it, and what the recently-arrived-in-Gotham-City Lex Luthor has to do with it.
The series will be released online in digital chapters first, and then every two chapters will be combined and sold as a print issue. The first digital chapters will hit in April, while the first print issue will be released on May 6.
This isn't the first time DC has used comics to further explore the world of B:TAS where fans fell in love with the performances of Batman/Bruce Wayne Kevin Conroy and the Joker Mark Hamill. The others were The Batman Adventures (vol. 1, 1992–1995), The Batman and Robin Adventures (1995–1997), The Batman Adventures: The Lost Years (1998), Batman: Gotham Adventures (1998–2003), and Batman Adventures (vol. 2, 2003–2004).
