Watch Rick and Morty’s ‘Meeseeks and Destroy’ with Actor Chris Parnell

Here at IGN, we're always looking for new ways to bring our community together to embrace what we're most passionate about. That's why we launched Watch From Home Theater, a weekly live show where we unite some of your favorite IGN personalities and special celebrity guests to have a digital movie night together with you watching some of our favorite films of all time. This Thursday, May 7th at 5 p.m. PT, we're watching Rick and Morty with star Chris Parnell! More than 13,500 fans voted which Jerry-centric episode we should watch, and the overwhelming response with 44.5 percent of the votes is "Meeseeks and Destroy." The Season 1 episode marked the introduction of fan-favorite character Mr. Meeseeks; as for Jerry, it saw him try and try to shave two strokes off his golf game. As Meeseeks are created to serve a singular purpose, this week they're here to create a fun live stream for all of you to tune into, so be sure to mark your calendars and tune back in on Thursday to watch! [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=rick-and-morty-the-10-biggest-wtf-moments&captions=true"] As the patriarch of the Smith family, Jerry has had one of the most insane and entertaining arcs of the fan-favorite Adult Swim series, which returned this past Sunday with new episodes. (Check out IGN's review of "Never Ricking Morty.") From bumbling, misguided father to... well, a slightly more self-aware yet still bumbling, misguided father, Parnell has been able to imbue Jerry with a fantastic sense of depth as he's navigated everything from a rocky marriage to inter-dimensional sci-fi shenanigans over the years. Beyond Rick and Morty, Parnell has made an impressive name for himself over the years with his comedic prowess. Parnell is best known for his decade of work on Saturday Night Live, and has made his mark on the comedy scene with roles in projects like Anchorman, 30 Rock, Archer and Suburgatory. We're thrilled to have him on the show! Watch From Home Theater isn’t just a show or an opportunity to watch a movie; it’s a hangout with passionate people who share one thing in common -- their love of film. Each week, we'll invite our viewers to join in the conversation using our WFH Theater Discord channel to chat with our host, Clint Gage, as well as our celebrity guests. With running commentaries that range from insightful to silly, each viewing will take on a life of its own based on each film. Check out highlights from our recent episodes of WFH Theater below!

Nicolas Cage Cast as Tiger King’s Joe Exotic in New TV Series

Oscar winner Nicolas Cage will play the infamous Joe Exotic, the subject of Netflix's Tiger King docuseries, in a new scripted TV series. The project marks Cage's first TV role in his long career. According to Variety, the eight-episode series, from Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios, will be scripted by American Vandal's Dan Lagana, who will also serve as showrunner and one of the series' executive producers. This particular incarnation of the Tiger King story will be an adaptation of the Texas Monthly article “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild,” by Leif Reigstad. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=best-true-crime-shows-and-movies-to-watch-online&captions=true"] There's no word yet on this series' title, other casting or creative elements, or when it might air. This also isn't the only scripted series in the works based on the sordid characters seen in Netflix's Tiger King. Kate McKinnon is attached to play Joe Exotic's rival Carole Baskin in a separate show, while Rob Lowe and Ryan Murphy are also teaming for another Joe Exotic TV project. There's also a new docuseries in the works about Joe Exotic that will further investigate claims made about Carole Baskin. The Last of Us Part 2 Has Gone Gold

The Last of Us Part 2, Naughty Dog's latest story-driven action adventure for PS4, has gone gold, according to creative director Neil Druckmann, who also advises players against judging the game based on bits and pieces of it they may have seen via The Last of Us 2 leaks online. With The Last of Us Part 2's new release date, Druckmann's video message addressed the status of the game, noting its "gold" status — meaning discs can be pressed for physical release and the digital release can be prepped as well. Of course, if you've followed games going gold in the past, they're often accompanied by team photos with the development teams gathering together to celebrate. Druckmann noted how this can't be the case at the moment. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/last-of-us-part-2-ghost-of-tsushima-get-new-release-dates"] "We wanted to let you know that we have gone gold. So back in April, we told you that due to the state of the world, logistics way beyond our control, we had to push the game, which gave us a few extra weeks to polish and now that we have a release date we submitted our gold master," he said. "And you're going to have our game in just a few short weeks. Normally this would be a moment of celebration. We'd be at the office having a drink, eating cake. But we're all stuck in our homes and I want to take this moment to congratulate the team that has pulled off the most ambitious game we've ever made." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-last-of-us-part-2-new-screenshots&captions=true"] Druckmann celebrated the full team's work in the long-awaited sequel, and went on to explain that, while The Last of Us Part 2's leaks may have revealed parts of the story, "nothing compares" to playing the sequel in full. The rest of his statement reads:
"I know I've said this before, but you won't know to what degree until you get your hands on it and just see the care, the care that has gone into every detail, from the level design, the mechanics, just graphically how the game looks, the environments, art direction, characters, story, the audio design, the soundtrack, oh my god the soundtrack is so amazing. Even for us, who have played this game, we can't even count how many times, we know it inside out, we're still emotionally moved]. I just finished a playthrough and I was crying by the end of it. And it's just pretty incredible, and I'm extremely proud of it, the team is extremely proud of it, and we can't wait to hear what you guys think.  "On behalf of Naughty Dog, thank you to you guys. You've been very patient waiting for this game for years with us, and you're just a few weeks away from getting it. A lot of you have sent us sweet and encouraging messages along that time that have been really helpful. No matter what you've seen or heard or read, nothing compares to playing this game from beginning to end. It's a video game, you've got to play it. I hope you guys are doing well. Stay safe, take care of your loved ones, and we'll have a lot more for you soon."
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/how-to-avoid-the-last-of-us-part-2-spoilers-ign-daily-fix"] On the topic of those leaks, PlayStation recently confirmed it identified the Last of Us Part 2 leakers, and that those individuals were not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment or Naughty Dog. The leaks came just as Sony announced The Last of Us 2's new release date (alongside a new date for Ghost of Tsushima) of June 19. More information about the leak has allegedly revealed how aspects of The Last of Us 2 were taken in the first place, though Sony has not officially commented on the methods. For more on The Last of Us Part 2, find out about its PS4 hard drive minimum required space, Druckmann's initial thoughts about the Last of Us 2 delay, and a report of how The Last of Us 2's delay allegedly led to sustained crunch. And, be sure to check out our hands-on preview with The Last of Us Part 2 to find out more about the game, including why The Last of Us 2 isn't open world, and how dogs will affect The Last of Us 2's combat. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Free DLC Revealed

A surprise DLC for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is now live and it brings new cosmetics, a battle grid, and combat challenges to the game. This free DLC update was revealed in a trailer from developer Respawn today as part of the Star Wars 'May the Fourth' celebration. The Jedi: Fallen Order DLC unlocks cosmetics and new combat challenges that can be accessed through meditation points. These challenges take place on different planets featured in the game like Illum and Kashyyyk. You can check out the trailer below. As you can see, the combat challenges are wave-based arena challenges that will see protagonist Cal Kestis face off against a number of foes found throughout the game's story. If the trailer is any indication, it won't be just creatures found in the game but bounty hunters as well. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=all-lightsaber-colors-in-star-wars-jedi-fallen-order&captions=true"] The challenges also include unique parameters like "no healing" and "take no damage." Launching alongside these combat challenges is a new Battle Grid system that allows you to create your own challenges by placing enemies on a grid for you to fight against. New cosmetic rewards are available in the game, too, including the Inquisitor Cal appearance and lightsaber color. This update is available to download now. New Star Wars Movie From Taika Waititi Announced

Disney has announced that a new Star Wars movie directed by Thor Ragnarok helm Taika Waititi is in development. In addition, a new Disney+ Star Wars show from Russian Doll writer Leslye Headland is also in the works. No details have been released about the film's title, plot, characters, or setting within the Star Wars universe, but Disney has stated that Waititi will direct and co-write, and that the film will be released theatrically. Waititi is joined on scripting duties by Krysty Wilson-Cairns, the writer of 1917 and Edgar Wright's upcoming Last Night in Soho. While we don't know anything about what Waititi and Wilson-Cairns' story will explore, we do know that Disney has not ruled out the possibility of new Star Wars films becoming trilogies. Could this be a standalone story, like Rogue One and Solo, or is this the start of a new saga? [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=rogue-one-17-cool-star-wars-details-revealed-by-the-writers&captions=true"] As for the Disney+ show, Russian Doll writer Leslye Headland will write, executive produce, and act as showrunner. Disney again has offered no details to the actual premise of the project, but does indicate that it is not the Cassian Andor show nor the Obi-Wan Kenobi show. Disney has also provided no release date for the film or show. Last year reports claimed that Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy had found a director for a Star Wars project slated for 2022. Waititi may potentially be that director if the reports line up, however with the COVID-19 pandemic impact on the film industry it's likely that 2022 would no longer the target window. Until further details emerge, however, we can't draw any conclusions as to where this new film sits in Disney's overall Star Wars plan. Rainbow Six Siege Review (2020) – Smooth Operator

In Rainbow Six Siege, small tactical choices always lead to big consequences. Every round is a new lesson in what you could have done better, with your mistakes acting as a stern teacher. Taking these lessons to heart and adjusting your team's strategy accordingly keeps each match feeling fresh and exciting, and a drip-feed of new operators, loadouts, and abilities constantly introduces new considerations. The thrill of seeing your plan succeed--whether that's a collection of traps that stops the enemy in their tracks, a well-placed breaching hole that sets the stage for an ambush, or two operators' abilities working together to pull the rug out from the opposing team--is what makes Siege not only a compelling shooter but one of the best examples of teamwork, tactics, and crack shooting out there.

Despite its evolution over the past four years, Rainbow Six Siege has always been a battle between attackers and defenders over a single objective. There are five operators per team, each with their own special gadgets that can be used to slow the attackers' assault or poke holes in the defenders' fortifications. Every round, attackers need to move in on a specific objective; depending on the mode, they'll need to sneak in and extract a hostage, create a pathway to secure a specific room, or strategize carefully to defuse a bomb. Bomb is the quintessential Siege mode, as it makes every operator feel viable and balanced. Pushing the objective, finding an opening to plant the defuser, and then protecting said defuser gives the attacking side a steep, rewarding climb to victory, and it's the defenders' job to knock them down and keep them from reaching that summit.

Playing video games with friends is usually more fun than playing alone, and the benefits of communicating and working together make Siege a more enjoyable experience when playing with people you know. Thankfully, solo-queuing isn't an entirely lost cause, as it's not uncommon to find like-minded players interested in coordinating as a team, but you will inevitably come across players more interested in taking the objective on their own. Siege incentivizes teamwork, and when a group of players executes a coordinated assault on the garage in House or top floor of Kanal, it results in some of the most exciting moments you can experience in a team-based first-person shooter.

Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series Coming to PSVR This Summer

Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series is coming to PSVR this summer as one complete package. Previously exclusive to Oculus devices like the Quest and Rift, Vader Immortal is a VR series set in the Star Wars galaxy that sees you descend into Darth Vader's fortress with the "key to the galaxy's salvation...or destruction." Announced as part of May the 4th celebrations, the PlayStation Blog post detailing this announcement says the game is coming this Summer, but an exact date was not revealed. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=vader-immortal-a-star-wars-vr-series-episode-iii-images&captions=true"] "Today, I'm excited to let you know that Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series is coming to PlayStation VR later this summer, and the series will be available as a complete series: all three episodes and Lightsaber Dojos will be available for purchase together, for the first time," ILMxLAB Executive Creative Producer Mark Miller said. Miller said ILMxLAB, the developer behind this game, began talking about creating a canonical VR series that focused on Darth Vader back in 2016. He said they knew VR was the answer as they wanted this project to be highly immersive. ILMxLAB worked with Ninja Theory to nail down the feeling of using a lightsaber to "the point where you really felt like you were parrying a blow, slicing through metal, or blocking blaster fire." The first episode of Vader Immortal was released for Oculus Rift and Quest in May of 2019. The second episode came out a few months later in September and the series wrapped with the third and final episode on November 21, 2019. Each episode had to be purchased individually so this PSVR version of the game marks the first time all episodes can be purchased as one complete package. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/04/12/vader-immortal-a-star-wars-vr-series-episode-i-official-trailer"] ILM is the development team behind The VOID Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire VR experience that can be found in places like Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida, or in other VOID storefronts. In those experiences, you actually walk around a building with a VR headset on to experience their Star Wars story. Vader Immortal was the first time an ILM Star Wars VR story could be experienced from home. The PSVR version of this game does not yet have a price but each episode of the series on Oculus devices came with a $9.99 price tag. We thought the first episode was good, giving Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Story Episode 1 a 7.5 out of 10.
