Watch IGN’s Queerantine 2020 Pride Live Stream Fundraiser on June 26
IGN is celebrating Pride Month with a very special Queerantine fundraising live stream. We’ll be featuring gameplay by queer gamers, spotlighting games with queer themes made by queer developers, and showcasing the talents of queer nerds on the web.
You can tune into the livestream on Friday, June 26 from 12 pm - 4 pm PST/3 pm - 7 pm EST/8 pm - 12 am BST.
Most importantly, we’ll be raising awareness and funds for The LGBTQ Freedom Fund. According to their mission statement, "Each day, tens of thousands of LGBTQ people are held in jail or immigration detention because they cannot afford bail. The LGBTQ Freedom Fund pays bail to secure the freedom of LGBTQ people across the country. Because of whom they love, a tangle of discrimination and poverty puts LGBTQ people behind bars. The impact is disproportionately felt by transgender, brown, and black people." These people need our help -- and your help -- so please give what you can and help spread the word about this amazing, life-saving organization fighting to secure their release and safety.
You can donate by clicking the link during our stream or going right to The LGBTQ Freedom Fund website.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 Warehouse Demo Hits in August
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 will be getting a Warehouse Demo starting on August 14, 2020, and the full game will feature new skaters that were not part of the originals.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 4, 2020, and those who pre-order the game digitally will get access to the demo on August 14, although the date is "subject to change."
As for the new skaters, THPS 1 and 2 will include, in addition to those found in the originals, Nyjah Huston, Leo Baker, Leticia Bufoni, Aori Nishimura, Lizzie Armanto, Shane O'Neill, Riley Hawk, and Tyshawn Jones.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/23/tony-hawks-pro-skater-1-and-2-new-skaters-announcement-trailer"]
“Modern-day skateboarding originated from a generation of skaters who grew up playing the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games,” said Michelle Bresaw, Vice President of Product Management and Marketing at Activision. “The world-class pro skaters we’re adding to this remaster took the tricks and combos from the videogame and made them possible in real life. We’re proud that the remaster will represent the skate culture landscape today with a diverse roster of skaters that will appeal to any gamer.”
Some of these skaters have appeared in other Tony Hawk games, but this will be the first time they will "ollie and kickflip in the first two games from the franchise." Futhermore, these skaters will bring with them their own signature tricks.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 is being developed by Vicarious Visions and brings these classic games to 2020 with HD graphics, all the original levels, skaters, tricks, and modes, new tricks and secrets and online multiplayer, Create-A-Park and Create-A-Skater, and many of the iconic songs from the first two Tony Hawk games.

George R.R. Martin Now Hopes to Have The Winds of Winter Completed By Next Year
George RR Martin has shared a fresh update on how things are coming along with writing The Winds of Winter, the sixth instalment of his fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, from which the hit HBO drama Game of Thrones spawned.
The legendary author posted a new blog entry, titled "Writing, Reading, Writing," on Tuesday, assuring fans that he has been staying healthy amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but has been consumed with writing ever since his last update.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/03/18/george-rr-martin-says-hes-healthy-isolated-and-getting-plenty-of-writing-done"]
"I have to confess, after half a year of pandemic, quarantine, and social distancing, I am showing signs of cabin fever... half of which is quite literal in my case. Yes, I am in an actual cabin in the mountains. No, I have no fever. Yay! For the present at least, I am healthy... for an out-of-shape guy of 71, at least... and doing all I can to stay that way," Martin wrote in his candid post.
He added: "If nothing else, the enforced isolation has helped me write. I am spending long hours every day on The Winds of Winter, and making steady progress. I finished a new chapter yesterday, another one three days ago, another one the previous week. But no, this does not mean that the book will be finished tomorrow or published next week. It's going to be a huge book, and I still have a long way to go."
Martin addressed his cancelled trip to Wellington for CoNZealand, the 78th World Science Fiction Convention, saying he was "heartbroken" that the event had been forced to go virtual this year. However, he also noted that "a long interruption" might have cost him "all the momentum" that he has built up, so he will visit next year when he hopes "both COVID-19 and The Winds of Winter will be done."
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=game-of-thrones-every-major-characters-first-and-last-appearance&captions=true"]
As a further teaser, Martin said that he has been "visiting with Cersei, Asha, Tyrion, Ser Barristan, and Areo Hotah" while writing, and will be "dropping back into Braavos" next week, "with occasional side trips to other places in the pages of a great book."
Despite admitting to having good days and bad days on the novel, Martin appears to be sticking to his prior promise that he will not develop scripts for the Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, until he finishes writing The Winds of Winter.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 Announced
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2, the sequel to 2018's Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Kickstarter 8-bit spinoff bonus game, will be "coming soon" to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Revealed during the New Game Plus digital event, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 is once again being produced by Artplay's Koji Igarashi, who directed many Castlevania games during his time at Konami.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/23/bloodstained-curse-of-the-moon-2-world-premiere-trailer"]
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon was inspired by NES' Castlevania games, specifically Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, and the sequel follows suit.
Curse of the Moon 2 features multiple playable characters, including the original's Zangetsu - the "sword-wielding exorcist," Dominique - an "exorcist sent by the church who heals her allies and uses her spears to fell demons," Robert - a "sharpshooting soldier capable of sniping his demonic foes," and Hachi - a "Corgi who pulverizes demons by controlling a colossal suit of magicked armor."
In our review of Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, we said "The prospect of playing such a lovingly crafted tribute to the vintage heyday of Konami's seemingly abandoned Castlevania series more than makes up for a few out-of-place boss fights and a slightly too punitive death penalty. Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon delivers a brief but effective burst of nostalgia, and thanks to its many creative modifiers it contains enough replay value to engage (and challenge) anyone who pines for gaming's bygone days."
