Bill and Ted 3 Pushed Back Because of Tenet Delay

Following the news that Christopher Nolan's Tenet has been delayed again due to the surge in COVID-19 cases -- with the time-bending spy thriller starring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson now moved to August 12 -- it's being reported that Bill and Ted Face the Music, the decades-later threequel, has been pushed to the end of August. Per Variety, Bill and Ted 3 is now set to release in theaters on August 28 so as to not compete with Tenet. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=bill-and-ted-face-the-music-first-look&captions=true"] Bill and Ted Face the Music follows the titular duo of dudes -- played by the returning Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter -- who are now middle-aged and dealing with real-life family responsibilities, still trying to write the greatest song ever made in order to unite all of humanity in harmony. Recently, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter joined the 2020 Graduation Commencement at San Dimas High School (the home of Bill & Ted) to congratulate the graduating class and remind them to be excellent to each other. Kratos Creator Shares Early Concept Art for Marvel’s Thor Movie

Charlie Wen, creator of God of War’s Kratos and co-founder of Marvel Studios’ Visual Development, released some fun early concept art for Thor on Instagram and Twitter this past week. Wen, whose creations and worlds can been seen in Marvel’s The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and League of Legends, introduced the piece with "here’s a throwback to the very first #thor I had done. It was at Marvel Studio’s infancy, directly after Iron Man 1 -- I had a meeting the next morning with Kevin Feige to talk about designing a Marvel Cinematic Universe." "I was so nerve-racked," Wen wrote on Instagram, "I decided to paint my first Thor (which I included in the meeting;)." Check out the image from Twitter here... Wen concluded with "You can see how this very first Thor image still had bits left over from spending 6 years developing the fantasy look of the #godofwar games. but even then, I really thought the Celtic knotting and interweaving shapes were working well, so I was super happy to be able to work those elements into the final #thor #designs for the films:)" With Phase 4's first movie Black Widow moved to November (for now), one dedicated Marvel superfan used their time in quarantine to create a comprehensive list of every single MCU scene, arranged in chronological order. Thor: Love and Thunder was initially scheduled for release on Nov. 5, 2021, but the recent release date changes for Marvel's Phase 4 have pushed it back to Feb. 28, 2022. Director Taika Waititi has previously described Love and Thunder as "doubling down on how nuts Ragnarok was." Family Guy and The Simpsons Recast Major Black Characters

Update: Both Family Guy and The Simpsons have recast key roles heading into the fall TV season, as the two animated sitcoms work to end the trend of having white actors voicing non-white characters. Variety reports comedian and YouTube star Arif Zahir will be taking over the role of Cleveland Brown from Mike Henry. Zahir actually rose to prominence in part due to his spot-on impersonation of Henry's Cleveland voice, so fans might not even notice a difference. Given the long lead time on Family Guy's production, though, it's expected that Henry will continue to voice Cleveland for most or all of Family Guy: Season 18 before the recasting takes effect. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=fall-tv-preview-2020-new-and-returning-shows-to-watch&captions=true"] The Simpsons will be making a major recasting much sooner, however. Yahoo reports the Season 32 premiere (which airs Sunday, September 27) will feature a new actor voicing Homer's coworker Carl Carlson. Alex Désert (Better Things) is taking over the role from Hank Azaria, though it's unclear whether Désert is the permanent new voice actor for Carl and how many of Springfield's other minority residents will be recast in Season 32. As reportedly previously, Azaria is also stepping down from the role of Apu. The original story is below: [poilib element="accentDivider"] Family Guy fans can expect a big change in the show's upcoming 19th season. Voice actor Mike Henry announced he'll no longer be playing the role of Cleveland Brown on the long-running animated sitcom. Henry made the announcement via Twitter, saying, "I love this character, but persons of color should play characters of color. Therefore, I will be stepping down from the role." Henry has been a mainstay of the series since its debut in 1999, serving as a writer and co-producer as well as voicing several other recurring characters like Herbert and Consuela. Henry also co-created the spinoff series The Cleveland Show, which ran for four seasons from 2009 to 2013. Fellow Fox series The Simpsons will be undergoing similar changes in the near future. Fox released a statement declaring "Moving forward, The Simpsons will no longer have white actors voice non-white characters.” Both announcements come as more and more scrutiny is being directed toward animated projects that feature white actors voicing characters of color. Earlier this year, The Simpsons' Hank Azaria stepped down from his decades-long role as Apu, in response to criticisms raised by Hari Kondabolu's 2017 documentary The Problem With Apu. Family Guy executive producers Rich Appel and Alex Sulkin also announced in 2019 the series would begin phasing out gay jokes. It's unclear when exactly Family Guy's Cleveland overhaul will take effect or how far along the recasting process is. Given the show's long production lead time, it's likely Henry has recorded dialogue for at least some Season 19 episodes. That said, it's entirely possible those lines will be re-recorded when a new actor is cast. Dr DisRespect Tweets For the First Time After Twitch Ban

Update 6/27 7:14 pm PT: Beahm aka Dr Disrespect has tweeted publicly for the first time since news of his ban from Twitch surfaced. In his first public tweets since the incident, Dr Disrespect writes that "Twitch has not notified me on the specific reason behind their decision... Firm handshakes to all for the support during this difficult time." drd Beahm's tweets don't clarify the situation on why he was banned in the first place, and seems to claim that Twitch has not made the reason known to Dr Disrespect either. Original story continues... [poilib element="accentDivider"] Guy Beahm, better known as the streamer Dr Disrespect has been banned from the streaming service Twitch on Friday. Dr Disrespect’s channel, which previously had over 4 million followers, no longer appears to be available on the service. News of Dr Disrespect's ban was first announced via @StreamerBans, an automated Twitter account that tracks when streamers have been banned from Twitch. What was immediately strange about the situation was the secrecy behind the reason for Dr Disrespect's ban. Twitch reporters like Rod Breslau went as far as to say that while the ban is permanent, they're reluctant to share the reason why because of the "importance and sensitivity" of the matter. Twitch has not announced the reason for Dr Disrespect’s most recent ban, and it’s unclear how long the ban will last. Beahm was previously banned in July 2019 after he was caught filming from the LA Convention Center bathrooms during E3 2019. Since he began streaming in 2015 Dr Disrespect has grown into one of Twitch's biggest personalities. He broke out by streaming games like H1Z1 before exploding in popularity thanks to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. Dr Disrespect currently streams a variety of competitive battle royale games including Call of Duty: Warzone and Fortnite.

[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-ign-call-of-duty-review&captions=true"]

What’s even more surprising is that earlier this year Dr Disrespect signed an exclusive, multi-year deal with Twitch reportedly worth millions of dollars. But now, a few months after the deal was announced, Twitch seems to have banned the popular streamer. IGN has reached out to Twitch for a statement, but the company provided no specific reason for the ban. Instead, Twitch provided the following statement:
“As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community.”
Dr DisRespect has not addressed his ban on social media, though he was streaming as early as yesterday. IGN will update the story as the situation develops. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Matt Kim is a reporter for IGN.

Marvel’s Iron Man VR New Combat, World Details Revealed

Marvel's Iron Man VR is set to be released on PlayStation VR on July 3, 2020, and developer Camouflaj has given us one last look at the game's combat, world, and all-star cast before next week. Marvel's Iron Man VR's director Ryan Payton of Camouflaj took to PlayStation.Blog to give fans an "unprecedented look at what you can expect from the full game." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/04/02/iron-man-vr-hands-on-impressions"]

Big & Open Environments

The environments in Marvel's Iron Man VR needed to be huge to accommodate for players flying at high speeds as Tony Stark. Payton confirms that "you can fit twenty-three entire world instances of République into the initial Maliby environment." République was Camouflaj's first game. Payton continued by discussing some of the environments players will travel to as Iron Man, including a fully realized S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier that Iron Man can fly in and outside of. Another location will be Shanghai, which "gives players the unique sensation of flying through a high density downtown with plenty of tall buildings to weave in between." The story will also take Iron Man to a decommissioned Stark Industries plant. It's a relatively smaller area, it "only fits three entire République worlds," but it is ideal for tackling Combat Challenges. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/05/21/marvels-iron-man-vr-demo-trailer"]

Depth of Combat and Gameplay

Marvel's Iron Man VR will have a deep combat system, and some of the abilities available to players were also discussed. The first one is Boost, which is pretty self-explanatory, but Payton confirmed the team has increased the frequency at which it can be used in the full game. Iron Man will have his Rocket Punch, a Ground Pound ability, various Auxiliary Weapons that can be unlocked by using Research Points at the Armor Station, and the iconic Unibeam, the devastating attack from Iron Man's chest. Due to the fact that Marvel's Iron Man VR is exclusive to a VR platform, it allows for specific interactions that could not take place anywhere. These moments include "extinguishing an engine fire or rescuing Pepper from a burning jet" in a more immersive way. One example Payton gave takes place in the Helicarrier campaign mission. Players can "grab a heavy door with your left gauntlet and then thrust backwards with your right! The team iterated heavily on this Super Hero Action to give it a real sense of weight." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/23/marvels-iron-man-vr-behind-the-scenes-tinkering-as-tony-video"]

Story, Armor Station, and Tony's Garage

Camouflaj originally anticipated that its PlayStation VR-exclusive game's story would last about 4-5 hours, but recent playtest data has actually revealed that "average playtimes are now roughly double that!" Marvel's Iron Man VR strength, according to Payton, is "how it pairs great action with relatable character drama." This VR game will include exciting Iron Man action moments "intertwined with a personal story about Tony Stark struggling with his worst enemy: himself." Payton also teased that the team "made arming the Impulse Armor with weapons part of Tony's Journey to overcome his past." To do this, players will be able to enter the Armor Station to see the Impulse Armor in "all its glory." This is where players can upgrade the armor with new augments and auxiliary weapons. It's all done with an intuitive 3D interface, another piece of the puzzle in making you believe you ARE Iron Man. Besides the Armor Station, Tony's Garage can be explored and players can "squeeze in a workout, give Pepper a call, or maybe listen to our in-fiction podcast series hosted by a close(ish) family member of Tony Stark..." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="legacyId=20095320&captions=true"]

All-Star Cast of Marvel Characters

The story of Marvel's Iron Man VR will include classic Marvel characters like Pepper Potts, Nick Fury, and FRIDAY. However, there will also be a "host of other characters we have yet to reveal." There are specific moments in the story that has you interacting with these characters, so it won't be as if they are only talking in your ear as you are flying around the world. It was already revealed that Tony Stark and Ghost would be voiced by Josh Keaton and Chantelle Barry, respectively, but Payton revealed a few more of the voice actors in today's blog post. FRIDAY will be voiced by Leila Birch, Ike Amadi will lend his voice to Nick Fury, and Jennifer Hale will play Pepper Potts. Dwight Schultz, Matt Mercer, and Leonardo Nam are also part of the cast, but their characters will remain a mystery for now. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/03/marvels-iron-man-vr-behind-the-scenes-vr-immersion-video"] For more on Marvel's Iron Man before its release next week, be sure to check out our hands-on impressions from last year and Payton's previous comments on crafting an original Tony Stark story. Also, if you are on the fence on if you want to purchase the full game, there is a demo available now on the PlayStation Store. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Have a tip for us? Margot Robbie to Star in New Pirates of the Caribbean Movie

There's a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie reportedly in "early development" at Disney, with Margot Robbie attached to star and her Birds of Prey screenwriter Christina Hodson aboard to script. The female-led project, according to The Hollywood Reporter, "is not intended to be a spinoff of the long-running franchise that had pirate Jack Sparrow at its center but rather a wholly original story with new characters under the Pirates moniker." No further details about the plot or who might direct the film are available. [ignvideo width=610 height=374 url=https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/02/08/harley-quinn-and-black-canary-respond-to-ign-comments] Furthermore, this Pirates project is said to be separate from the recently reported Pirates reboot that remains in the works with the franchise's veteran writer Ted Elliott and Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin. Pirates franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer will produce both projects. Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise has grossed over $4 billion at the worldwide box office. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=pirates-caribbean-villains-monsters&captions=true"] Robbie will reprise her role as DC's Harley Quinn in next year's The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn. In addition to scripting Birds of Prey and Bumblebee, Christina Hodson is writing the Flash and Batgirl movies. Recently we learned Michael Keaton may reprise his Batman role for both those DC movies.

The Boys Season 2 Will Premiere in September

The Boys Season 2 will premiere its first three episodes worldwide on Amazon Prime Video on September 4, 2020, with the remaining five episodes airing every Friday through October 9. Series creator Erik Kripke calls Season 2, "crazier, stranger, more intense, more emotional. In fact, it’s too much — so the Surgeon General has insisted we air the first three episodes on September 4, then air the remaining five episodes weekly after that. We wanted to give you time to freak out, digest, discuss, come down from the high, before we give you another dose." All of this exciting news was announced during a special virtual event hosted by Season 2 guest star Patton Oswalt. The streamer also revealed a new Season 2 poster that you can check out below: [caption id="attachment_237273" align="aligncenter" width="720"]THBY_S2_02096_KAStatic_1x1_RainingBlood_PRE_Movement_FINAL Photo courtesy of Amazon Prime Video.[/caption] Here's how Amazon describes the upcoming second season of The Boys: "The Boys are on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon), and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social-media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia." Sea of Thieves Takes a Step Toward Providing Friends-Only Servers

Sea of Thieves will get custom servers in the "near future," according to developer Rare. Custom servers have been a widely-requested feature and it seems that Rare has heard the requests. In a blog post made on June 25, Sea of Thieves executive producer Joe Neate explained the feature will be coming to the game in the form of an early Alpha version. This Alpha version will be open to select creators and community groups. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-xbox-one-first-party-review&captions=true"] "We have been working for a while on formalising this support, and in the near future we're going to bring an early Alpha version of Custom Servers to Sea of Thieves as a tool for selected creators and community groups to utilise for community events," Neate said. "We will be working with these creators and community groups to test Custom Servers in a live environment, to gather feedback and prioritise future development priorities in this area." Key features of these custom servers in the Alpha include the ability to set up a Custom Adventure Server, customization of ship number and types prior to starting, generation of a code to distribute to community members to allow them to join, and no gold or reputation progression from custom server sessions. Neate said the purpose of custom servers in Sea of Thieves is to allow creative players the opportunity to use the Sea of Thieves sandbox to create unique experiences for their communities. He stressed that they are not intended to be used as a PvE server, hence the removal of the ability to earn gold and reputation. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/05/25/sea-of-thieves-the-new-legends-official-sea-of-thieves-showcase-trailer"] As to why the Alpha custom servers are launching to such a limited audience, Neate said that with how bare-bones the feature set currently is, Rare wants to learn how it works with a smaller community before bringing it to a wider audience. He also said that because these servers cost money to run, starting small, "makes sense from a business perspective." Eventually, Neate expects custom servers to be an optional feature that players can access from the Pirate Emporium. For more Sea of Thieves, be sure to check out our latest thoughts on the game in our updated 2020 Sea of Thieves review. After that, read about how Rare successfully reinvented Sea of Thieves.
